Taproom is situated near my boyfriend’s work, so I come here once or twice a week. Coffee is always great and tasty. I prefer to order latte, but there is a very good option — beer and wine, which is also very good. Sometimes after work we come here to rest and meet our friends after long, exhausting working hours. My boyfriend comes here with a laptop to work, because of free Wi-Fi. So, magic place. We will continue to come in this café, just even to get polite service and good drinks!

Had a delicious and pretty latte and an almond croissant. They even toasted the croissant, although there could have been more filling in it. Plenty of seating inside and out.

My priorities when going to a coffee shop: 1) outlets, 2) great lattes, 3) atmosphere. This is my favorite place to study, as they have a large table that has an excess of outlets underneath it(genius)! They also have amazing teas and beer if caffeine isn’t for you. It’s bright and open, with some hipster thrown in. Basically, if Anthropologie was a coffee/beer shop, it would be Taproom.

Please post your pricing. You are selling coffee. You explained I had to add .25 cents to each successive drink type listed to determine the price. Customers shouldn’t have to do math — especially BEFORECOFFEE — to know what you are charging. I am actually wondering if hiding your prices is legal in Georgia — might want to check that one…

I had been reading about Japanese style iced coffee and Nitro beerspresso and I was wondering if I could find these in Atlanta, and Taproom Coffee was the only one at the time that had both of them. There was also a Scoutmob deal going on for half off one drink which was an added bonus reason to go check them out. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it didn’t look too busy. There’s outdoor and indoor seating. We found out later that this place source their beans from Counter Culture. Japanese Style Iced Coffee($ 2.50 kind, I forget how this was made) This was bright in flavor and smooth tasting. It did take me a couple of sips before it started to grow on me. Nitro Beerspresso — Sign read, «Ethiopian with Amarillo Hops.» The name is a bit misleading because it’s not really beer — not alcoholic, nor does it taste like a beer. Served in a nice looking Belgian snifter beer glass with a super foamy head and cascading appearance(it only lasts for about 20 secs!) that you expect from a nitro pour. Smell of hops was apparent, but not so much on the palate, at least not until it warmed up a bit. I do enjoy the nitro contribution, but not sure if I am a big fan of this drink style as I am still partial to dark roasted coffee flavors, but it’s a great drinking experience to anyone who loves both coffee and hoppy beers. Also, this drink changes over time as the brewers are experimenting with different hops and so, it would be interesting to try this again on another occasion. Caffe latte Nice artwork on the foamy surface. This was just okay tasting, just too milky-tasting for us. Manual pourover(16 oz serving — perfect for 2 people) There was a choice of 3 types of beans and we chose the Finca Mauritania beans from Santa Ana, El Salvador. It came in 2 interesting looking ceramic cups on a wooden board. This was very pleasant to drink from as it strikes a good balance of sweetness and brightness. It’s also complex as the flavor nuances sort of changes over time but I am not a coffee expert to describe it in detail except that YMMV. They have a small selection of local craft beers on tap but we didn’t order any. They also serve pastries made from a local bakery shop. This is a great hangout spot for catching up with friends who like either coffee and/or beer. The Kirkwood neighborhood looks nice too. Their website is also worth checking out as it is nicely designed.

Taproom is my neighborhood coffee place, so I’m clearly biased. Still, I feel blessed to live so close to this gem. Some of their pour-over coffees are simply out of this world. My favorite part of the place is its strong ties to the community – I’ve been to their game nights and I love that they hold very frequent events. Their staff are also really friendly.

Cool spot, cool concept. Beer and Coffee in the same spot? That definitely caught my attention. Being quite sensitive to caffeine, I went ahead and browsed the beer selection, and was impressed with the diversity of the list– although the list isn’t long, I think it has something for just about any palate. I’ll be back at least once a month for the next school year. :-)

Awesome coffee shop located in Kirkwood! The service was good and the coffee was great! The ambience is very modern and a great place to get work done. I ordered the nitro-brew and loved Another aspect I thought was cool are the events that take place here, they have pour-over classes and beer tasting gatherings. Overall this is one of my favorite coffee shops in Atlanta!

Taproom coffee is technically the closest coffee option to my home, and it’s a good one! The spacious coffee bar has great pourover coffee and espresso drink options. Wish they also had soy milk option for lattes, instead of just having almond milk. I’ve only had tastings of the beer options, but I liked them… all local options and they switch out regularly. Very spacious– always room at tables or the counter, and in good weather months, a couple of outdoor tables as well.

This is my most favorite coffee shop, hands down. The latté is my jam, and I love that they use Counter Culture coffee. We not only spend way too much money on fancy drinks, we always have beans from Taproom every morning at home! My fiancé and I also love to walk the dog up here in the evenings for drinks. They have a great, rotating draft beer menu. I also just love the vibe of this place. It’s never too crazy, and the staff are all so sweet and personable. The only possible con I can think of this place is the pastries can be hit or miss… but that’s really not what I’m coming here for.

If it wasn’t for Unilocal I wouldn’t have discovered this awesome coffee shop that sells beer! I’m not a beer drinker but I am a coffee addict. The caramel latte is beyond the caramel latte at Starbucks. I think this was the best caramel latte I’ve ever had. A young gal who sat next to me had a chai latte and it smells as good as Christmas. I’m not even a fan of chai. If I’m ever in the Kirkwood area again, I will stop by for a cup of coffee or two or three. Hey, it’s a great place to people watch.

I confess, it was the Unilocal app that alerted me that a friend had checked in. So I made a minor diversion to check this place out and finally«meet» a Unilocal friend in person. It was early afternoon, and a table was easily had. Lots of access for plugs. Free wifi. These are a few of my favorite things. Taproom is a big storefront with floor-to-ceiling windows and LOTS of light. And it’s quiet – people were there to read, or work. And I really like that, too. Taproom has a small menu, but these folks really know their coffee-making craft. My latte was delicious. It may have set the standard for all other lattes(for me, anyway). I will look forward to my next visit. Holler if you’re coming with.

Either this place has unexplained biases or the employees are purposefully disrespectful. I’ve never had a coffee to shop to tell me how I should have my drink made. This one did! I ordered an Americano and simply asked if the shot could go in first. This is nothing new, but for some strange reason, the male barista didn’t want to make it that way and he asked me «WHY» did I want the shot to go in first. I simply said it’s the way I like it. I further explained that when I went to Europe, I visited a coffee shop that made the Americano’s that way and I loved it. Now you would think at that point, he would let it go, but instead he went on to say that coffee in Europe isn’t made that way and had the nerve to say I was wrong. During that time, the female barista was heating up my bagel. Once she was done, she threw it at me and then looked at the male barista and smiled. I really want to think that this was an isolated incident, but I can’t because this caliber of behavior is unacceptable. I definitely won’t be back. I definitely don’t recommend this place because I have strong feelings they will give bad customer service again and it doesn’t need to happen to you!

First of all let me say that I have been touring ITP for the last week. This is usually not my stomping ground. I pulled up and had to parallel park which for this OTP girl is a bit tough but I mastered it! Parking is on the street in front of the buildings. Upon walking in I was greeted by the owner and another employee. The greeting was warm and welcoming! The atmosphere was clean and«industrial chic». I ordered a(yes I need to broaden my coffee shop choices) Chai Tea Latte. I loved it! I noticed that they did have outside seating so I was definitely talking advantage of this on the ONE day that it hasn’t rained in like a MONTH! Oh, the feel of the cool breeze while sipping on my latte was truly divine! The inside consisted of low tables and a higher bar area. There were people having a meeting, using headphones and reading a book, and even a mom with kids enjoying this great little shop! Ample electrical outlets throughout. If you are in this area I would highly recommend Taproom. The warm welcome that I received is worth a trip back!

So glad to have found this place through Unilocal! My friend and I wanted to get away from campus to study and I wanted to try a new coffee place so we decided to check Taproom out. This place is absolutely perfect for people like me: you can get quality coffee, draught beer, wine, and yummy pastries all at once! I got the chai milk stout which was dark but also very smooth and, as its name implies, milky ;) My friend tried the drip coffee from Burundi which she loved! I had a couple sips and really liked the lack of fruity/acid taste. Later on, I had a fudge brownie which wasn’t the traditional chunky brownie I usually go for but still enjoyed the soft creaminess of it. I’ll definitely be back at Taproom to try their other coffees and drinks :)

Taproom Coffee opened April 2014 in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta. Taproom serves specialty coffee and beer. The business was successfully funded by a Kickstarter campaign( ). It’s a really cool coffeehouse that has quickly made a fan out of me. The coffee shop has an open, modern design. The interior looks like it was lifted directly off the pages of a catalog. Simple and aesthetically pleasing. I like how the walls transition from concrete to tile to wood. During the daytime, natural light fills the space. At night, the seating area is illuminated by dozens of hanging bare bulbs. The café seats about 40. There’s seating by the windows, a long communal table in the center of the shop, and several smaller two-tops. There’s free Wi-Fi and a casual, laid back atmosphere. This is a great place to unwind and hang out. I’m not a beer drinker so I’ve only had the coffee and tea here. Taproom has partnered with and serves Counter Culture Coffee. The coffee menu includes espresso, macchiato, cortado(espresso cut with a small amount of warm milk), cappuccino, lattes(including vanilla and caramel), mocha, Americano(diluted espresso), café au lait(French coffee with milk), iced coffee, drip coffee(mornings only), and manual pourover coffees by the cup. Outside of coffee, there are various hot teas, chai tea latte, and simple smoothies. Expect to spend about $ 3 – 6 for a cup or more of each of these items. There’s also a limited selection of foods such as breads, muffins, Danishes, pies, and other assorted pastries. For a fun and neat experience, order something from the Manual Pourover Bar. You get 16 ounce servings of brewed-to-order coffee. The selection of manual pourover brews varies. The coffees you will find are unique, high quality, and organic. Examples include Elias Benata from Ethiopia(natural sun-dried), La Golondrina from Colombia, Baroida from Papua New Guinea, and Aida’s Grand Reserve from El Salvador. The latter, as its name implies, comes from a special reserve lot from renowned coffee producer Aida Batlle. Her special reserve lots are bid upon and come with high price tags. At Taproom, a 16 ounce serving of her Grand Reserve coffee was priced at $ 10. Taproom provides details for several of the coffees if you’re interested. Details include origin/history(e.g elevation, processing technique) and helpful tasting notes for the true coffee connoisseur(of which I am not). The notes are helpful to me, however, in deciding which coffees to select from earthy to savory to floral to fruity to chocolate to sweet & sugary(coffee flavor wheel). When in doubt, ask one of the friendly and knowledgeable baristas. Here’s a video I shot of the Manual Pourover Bar: . Great presentation on everything here from a simple macchiato to tea to the manual pourover coffee. The manual pourover coffee and special teas are served on small wooden trays. Along with beautiful cups/mugs, extra coffee and tea are stored in sealed glass bottles. Special teas also come with a miniature pitcher with tea leaves, which can be refilled with hot water at the counter. The baristas will let you know the recommended steeping times for each tea. Service is fantastic. The friendly owner, Jonathan Pascual, is a genuine coffee enthusiast and local coffee shop master, having opened and managed various coffee shops around town including Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee and the coffee bar at Empire State South. Taproom is located in what looks like a small mixed-use/mixed-retail development in Kirkwood on Hosea L Williams Dr. Free street parking is available directly outside. There’s also a free parking lot in the back.

You desire the luscious, rich taste of hand crafted coffees by can’t handle the parking situation or the business of Dancing Goats? Head over this way! This is by far my favorite coffee place located in the city. Tucked away in the up and coming Kirkwood neighborhood, Taproom offers delicious coffee and local craft brews with the convenience of ample seating and free parking. I have been to this location at least twice a month for the past year now, and I enjoy the experience every time. The aesthetics are pleasant and modern — with a nice bar, plenty of open seating, and even outdoor patio seating. All of the baristas are phenomenal, friendly and knowledgable about what they offer. As far as coffee goes… Taproom has my favorite every since LOTH closed down in the Vinings. They serve Counter Culture, and offer it in a variety of unique ways. I am a classic girl — preferring an Americano or a cappuccino. Absolutely divine. Just a really great cup of coffee that is slightly cheaper than other locations in the city. Please, if you want great coffee and a friendly, inviting atmosphere to work for hours at a time, or just to stop in — Taproom is your place. You have got to check it out!

Beer & Coffee all in one place?! Sounds great! But… All of my friends loved this place, but it fell short for me. I guess expectations play a high role in experiences. I was excited about this as soon as my friend and I decided to go. However, when I walked in, the environment didn’t match to the pictures I saw and what I imagined in my head. I imagined a hipster coffee shop where some people are drinking coffee and others are drinking beer with good conversations all around. When we went to Kirkwood, «Kirkwood Home For The Holidays,» a random festival was going on and they seemed to have a lot of kids running around. I love kids, but I wasn’t in the mood for them with my coffee. They were playing Christmas music, which is too trendy for the kind of coffee shop I imagined from others’ reviews, and it was really bright inside. The coffee was top notch quality though, don’t get me wrong. I got a cortado and I enjoyed it. I didn’t get to try my friend’s macchiato since it was just a small shot, but it looked enjoyable. I guess I wanted something I could sip on for a while and hang out. The service was awesome too. The barista was really knowledgeable about all coffee and was informative. This coffee shop wasn’t my favorite and didn’t live up to the hype on this visit.

New study spot. The area is really open and nice, it wasn’t too crowded, and the pastry I had(almond croissant) was SOGOOD. Extra bonus is that they actually have really good music. I spent an entire 5 hours not needing to stuff my earbuds in! We were lured by the Scoutmob, but I would definitely come back for another study sesh.

I don’t understand why craft beer and craft coffee aren’t together more often. They seem a natural partnership, and both are delicious here. I can’t actually speak to the coffee as a non-coffee drinker, but all my coffee snob friends assure me it is great. I personally am a fan of the tea, and they serve it post-steep time but with the tea leaves still there. I like some of the teas better than others, but they all taste better than the over-processed teas you find elsewhere. Now on to the beer. They have a great selection of craft beer, particularly focused on local beer. It definitely doesn’t cater to the basic beer palette — you won’t find any easy lagers on this list. You will find some very interesting beers with complex flavors, perfect for sipping over a long conversation with a friend. I do wish that the tea would be ready more quickly, but I guess that’s the price you pay for good craft drinks. And there is a price — this is a little more expensive than your average coffee house or bar, but it’s worth it on occasion. Free wifi. Parking available on the street(some) or behind the location in the station parking lot.
