Pretty good. We dipped in here before a show at the symphony. I got the Masaman-Kai it was great. It wasn’t spicy. I wasn’t looking for heat that evening. Very flavorful and the avocado with the curry, potatoes, and rice made the dish very filling. The Pad-Zee-Eu was great as well. It had a nice basic soy and rice noodle thing going on, which was very good. The service was great. Plate presentation is outstanding there. Great experience! Looking forward to going back.

I hadn’t been to Tamarind Seed in about 2 or so years. This restaurant use to be one of my favorites however that all changed this past Saturday. Reservations were set for 8pm for a birthday dinner. Guest were not seated until 30 – 35 minutes after 8pm(first strike)! On top of the late start, there was only 1 waiter/waitress for a party of about 15 plus individuals. The waitress by name of Sophia took forever to even get our round of drinks(even a glass of water) going. It took my sister to grasp her attention to even request for appetizers(second strike)! THEN, after finally taking our entrée orders we were served almost a hour later and half later(Third strike)! Sophia appeared discombobulated, confuse, and at times unwilling to comply to the needs of her guest. We spent a lot of money to dine there and quality customer service is what is EXPECTED! What in the hell was the management thinking in placing one waitress for a larger party as such. Lastly(I guess there is a fourth strike) Sophia was apparently creating her own gratuity on each tab instead of it being consistent across the board. As much as I loved Tamarind Seed, it has now become a thing of the PAST! I have no intentions on returning. What a pity smh! Oh one more thing, because of the later service and lack thereof, the parking validation was null & void because it was past the timeframe so we had to pay regardless. HORRIBLEHORRIBLE service! Beware of this place, it’s changed over the years. Better management, planning, training should be enforced. WHAT A TRAINWRECK!

Very nice Thai food with good food presentation, some tasty sauces and some slightly different dishes than your usual Thai restaurant. However, at every stage of the meal we saw inconsistency. For starters, the papaya salad was very spicy and fresh, yet the dumplings were dull and ordinary. For the main course I had a very well cooked and seasoned lamb mixed with eggplant and cooked in a spicy basil paste; however, my companion had a seafood curry that was more blasé. The shrimp was overlooked and hadn’t soaked up any of the curry taste. The service was mediocre with the waitress having to be summoned multiple times to provide basics like silverware despite hardly any dinner crowd at all. The restaurant was also unusually cold making it uncomfortable to dine in on an unusually cold night in Atlanta.

I have had Thai food all over the US. I’ve been to New York, St. Louis, Vegas etc. I ordered two dishes and both tasted like they had a pound of brown sugar in them. Pad Thai is supposed to be light and flavorful. Since when is it served in so much sauce it’s more like soup? The food came out quickly and was hot and the server was kind enough to only charge me for one of the meals I didn’t eat.

Service slow and unorganized. Food mediocre. No paper towel in the ladies room. This is Sunday afternoon not Friday or Saturday night. We got up and served ourselves water. Will not be returning unless I am desperate.

The food was great! But our waitress was rude and didn’t deserve a tip tbh. It was a Tuesday night, and we arrived near the end of the dinner rush. Compared to other tables, we seemed to be an inconvenience. When we sat down she didn’t say anything, just she gave us our waters and left. While waiting and through out the meal we had to ask other waiters for things such as silverware, water, etc. Our meals didn’t come at the same time, and we had to ask for the rice that came with our meals. It’s annoying and uncomfortable to have to ask so much during the meal. Overall, Sophia was just a crappy waitress to us. The only reason I knew her name was because I over heard her talking to the tables next to us, greeting them and checking on, which is something that she did not do with us. The curry dish I got was good, but I’ll probably just order take out next time.

Had lunch today. Another«modern» Thai disappointment. FOOD: «Fresh» basil rolls looked and tasted like they were made yesterday by the person who doesn’t have a clue about Thai cuisine. Thai dumplings were tasting awful and looked microwaved. Green curry was just so-so in flavor. Even green tea and mango ice cream was the most tasteless one we’ve ever had. Portion sizes are minimal. Prices are high. SERVICE: was OK. AMBIANCE: was the best feature of experience. Too bad we’ve spend the valuable meal time of our trip to Atlanta on this fake.

The food is amazing!!! The crispy calamari and the spicy pad-kee-mao formed a delicious food party in my mouth! Love! Love! Love!

The food here is not bad, but nothing that I would write home about. It is a pretty average thai restaurant. The quality of their ingredients and the presentation are great but there is more to be desired with the food they serve. I’ve tried their pad thai multiple times and was not thrilled, but their panang is pretty good. They serve very small amounts of rice and the dishes are pretty pricey for the size. Their cocktails are great though! The last time I went in, the servers were too quick to take away our food and when they packaged our food, did not include the rice that was on our table(especially when we paid more for extra rice!). Overall service is fine but this place is average.

Superb! Authentic flavors, a little pricier than your average Thai restaurant, but the quality is excellent. They also have a nice ambience, great service and full bar.

Conveniently located in colony square that is connected to the W Atlanta — Midtown hotel. The waitstaff is very friendly and prompt to fill drinks and take our order. We ordered the basil roll, pad see ew, and duck panaang curry. Fresh Basil roll: it seemed a bit dried out as if it was pre-made and left in a fridge. It was not fresh. Didn’t come with peanut sauce, came with a thousand island flavored sauce. Didn’t like this at all. Pad see ew: I liked the Chinese broccoli in the dish. It added good texture to the dish. Duck pannag curry: the duck is grilled and sliced. I personally liked the slightly fried duck that some restaurants serve. Curry sauce has a slight spicy kick. Tea: green, jasmine and chai to choose from Two dishes and an appetizer was good for two. Portions are on the smaller side. Chopsticks have lots of smaller splinters in them and was very weak. Couldn’t use them to eat with. Prices for the plates are on average $ 15 per plate which can be a lot of lunch.

Very fresh and very good! Sat at the bar and had a good experience. Bar tender needs to be a bit more attentive however. Will definitely go back.

The food is so good. Don’t go anywhere else. Satisfied my taste. If you want spicy, they have four kind of spice. The drinks are good. I can’t wait to come back to this restaurant.

I got vegetarian pad Thai and iced coffee for lunch with a friend. It was pretty good(not knock your socks off) but pretty expensive($ 26 seems right but memory is fuzzy). Granted it’s in the middle of midtown, but still seems not really worth the cost. Service was okay. Hostess tried to seat us right next to the only other people in the whole restaurant, which seemed unnecessary so I asked to be seated further away. Not sure I’ll be back again.

Our Tammarind Seed experience was absolutely perfect. The food, the service, and the atmosphere was great! I started out with a pomegranate martini and it was absolutely delicious. We got the chicken satay for an appetizer although there were a lot of others I wanted to try, I was very happy I chose this one. The sauce itself was worth it! My boyfriend got the roasted duck and I even thought it was delicious! I got the shrimp pad-thai and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I had them make it a little spicy for me and it turned out perfect! We were so pleased with our visit that we wouldn’t mind traveling down there just for this place! It was definitely the best thai experience I’ve had.

Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro is the 7th of 8 stops as part of «Eat the Peachtree 2015 — Electric Boogaloo!» — this is the return of the world’s largest world’s largest 10K-themed pub crawl. 108 clicks, 108 stops, 108 dishes, 108 drinks. 1 epic afternoon. Locate all the posts along with an intro if you search my blog with ETP2015. We walked from restaurant to restaurant in search of the best flavors and drinking venues in Atlanta, while enjoying the same sights as you would while running the Peachtree Road Race. You can find Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro at 1197 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA30361 on the left driving towards Midtown in front of Colony Square Mall. This is a fantastic location that’s usually quite busy — lucky for us it’s a Sunday! The Tuk Tuk(auto-rickshaw in India) is something to see and(as you can see in a bit) a way to remember dining at Tamarind Seed. The interior is quite nice and more upscale than you would think from looking at the place from the outside. Plenty of open seating and the large windows allow for lots of natural light. There are multiple menus for food, drink, specials… you name it. Most of the items will seem very similar to you if you have dined at other Thai restaurants. For food and drink: The Crispy Whole Snapper in Basil Sauce looked delicious but perhaps a bit heavy to our on-foot-traveling crew. Thai Singha Lager Beer was imbibed by most, with a few cocktails thrown in for good measure. The Nam Sod was delicious — very fresh and tasty. We all enjoyed the spring rolls, basil rolls and chicken satay. I think I ate most of the pickled cukes that came with the Satay. And for good measure, a few of us posed for photos in the Tuk Tuk! The service here was top notch and the food very good. I think you’ll enjoy Tamarind Seed. (longer review posted to my food blog).

Thai place with some good food and a nice ambience. Personally, the location is amazing for me too. I had the Gang-phed-Kai-yang and it was very good, it was a little spicy but not too much to make me sweat. I would also recommend the Gang-Penang. Penang is pretty common but the way they present it at Tamarind Seed is very cool as well as tasting great.

Went to dinner at this neat place. It can be very easy to miss if you’re looking for it. The restaurant had our table ready when we arrived for our reservation. They do validate parking if you park in their garage. We started with the Kung Thod which is stuffed shrimp with fresh thai herbs wrapped in spring roll skins(served with three flavor chili sauce). It was delicious. I had the Gang-khew-whan with chicken in green curry, thai eggplant, coconut milk, bamboo, green bean and fresh hot pepper and sweet basil. This is what they call 3 star hot and it was definitely hot and tasty! The other people at my table all ordered pad thai and it all ended up great! I definitely recommend this place!

We heard of this restaurant via«word of mouth» so we gave it a try! We made a reservation on a Saturday for a table for 6 people at 7:30pm. The restaurant had our table ready when we arrived. Parking is available in the garage and will be validated. We started with the Kung-Thud which included stuffed Shrimp with fresh Thai herbs wrapped in a spring roll. The order came with 4 rolls and a delicious dipping sauce. Five of the six of us ordered the Pad Thai and it was phenomenal! Each one of us ordered it slightly different though. For example, one person wanted it spicy, someone else wanted it with chicken instead of shrimp, etc. All changes worked well with the restaurant and the meals came out hot and fresh. It included Stir fry Thai noodles, eggs, ground peanuts, scallions, and bean sprouts. We even had leftovers for the following day(which tasted just as great as the first time I ate it). I loved their Pad Thai so I will definitely be back! I totally recommend this restaurant!

I started off with the spring rolls. They were good but nothing special. It came with 3 rolls, cut in half. I then had the pad Thai, which was pretty good. I asked to make it a little spicy. The flavor throughout was good. I got a side of pineapple fried rice. Wanted to try something different. It tasted kind of plain. The service was a little slow.

LAHBKAI I really like the larb kai here. It’s minced chicken in lime juice on a bed of greens. The napa cabbage is crisp and refreshing. PAPAYASALAD The salad was very good and refreshing although I didn’t think this was the best dish of the night. It’s just a tad on the more bland side, so I’s likely skip this dish next time. Still good crispy papaya strips though. SIAMCHICKEN Served on a half pineapple, and pineapple pieces cooked with the chicken, this dish is a popular one here. The chicken is coated with a nice sauce and great with the white jasmine rice. JUMBOPRAWNWITHGREENCURRY This is a spicy dish, and so good. We just devoured the green curry sauce and the prawns were cooked to perfection. THAITEA Nothing special. Nice large glass of thai tea always helps calm the spicy buds.
