This Talbots store has the rudest an most insulting Management and employees in Atlanta. I only shopped here because of Carolyn and Estelle, who are super! However, BEWARE the Management! They are RUDE. On March 1, I came to the store to return some items that I had purchased In line on February 18. Mary Copeland and Jan Hoover were rude and insulting to me. THey refused to return a Black Dress purchased online, because it had one tiny dog hair on it, which I refused in front of them. It had the tags attached, and I had only tried it on one time. So, over a $ 29 dress I have decided to discontinue my business with Talbots. Actually, none of my friends shop here anyway. I now know why the have filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. Talbots Management is an abomination.

I always think of Talbots as place where old, conservative, church-going ladies shop for their Sunday best. It must be because I grew up in New England and saw such women shopping there. The company originated in Massachusetts. This year, I visited Talbots in the spring and summer and was surprised to see pretty, floral, feminine and YOUNG clothing. I no longer think young women have to wait two decades to shop here. Maybe they hired a young, –modern, with-the-times designer. I didn’t buy anything here yet, but maybe I will one day. Prices were reasonable. I did some research on the company and was impressed that they have a scholarship program that helps older women return to college. More of a reason to support them.

I know people think of Talbots as where old ladies shop, and at first glance, you’d be right. There are some ladies who look like their idea of socializing is the church committee meeting. Talbots, by it’s own advertising, focuses on classics, and they’re never going to be descibed as fashion forward. But if you’re willing to take the time to sift through things, it’s possible to find some great pieces. I’ve found an eyelet lace jacket, bejeweled sandals, silk blouses, work pants, and great jewelry here. I always get compliments when I wear their stuff. I still wouldn’t want to do all of my clothes shopping here, because it could get boring quickly(kinda like me). Also, they’re not inexpensive. They definitely have better quality control than some other places I frequent.
