We were seated in a quaint area where conversation was made easy. Our waitress Elizabeth had not been there long but she was so well trained, polite and helpful with our selections. She shared all the«only available here» items and then brought us the most amazing baked cheese dip we had ever experienced. The drinks were unique too. The grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon and homemade tortillia caused us to rave about the food during our conversation. Elizabeth brought us the tres naches dessert to complete the experience… wow. We are still talking about it this morning. We will be back, thanks Elizabeth

If the chips and salsa(two kinds) weren’t so good, I’d have given this place a one star. We ordered taco camarones and enchilada. The tortilla tasted«different» and I didn’t appreciate it at all. The taco had this tart/sour taste. It was probably the worse taco I’ve ever had. The enchilada tasted cinnamony. It was no Bueno! If I go back, it will be for the chips and salsa but I doubt I will give this place a 2nd try.

Awesome! Came here on a Tuesday night and it was the only restaurant in KSM that was full and on a wait. Put our name on the list and was seated within the quoted time. Was greeted almost immediately by our server. She did a quick run down on the menu for us. We were starving so we got an order of nachos to start, they were delicious. The kind of nachos that have a layer of bean and cheese on every single chip. There was guac, sour cream, cilantro and picked veggies on top as well. For drinks I did the under the volcano which was a mezcal drink served up, had a nice flavor. My friend did a house margarita which she said tasted good and was pretty strong. They have two salsas on the table with small bowls which is super convenient. I was partial to the avocado salsa. For dinner we shared the parilla mixta which had chicken, steak, and pork along with rice, beans and delicious tortillas. There was some sort of frothy butter, pico de gallo and some guac as well. Presentation was awesome, although I will say… It would have been nice if staff was on top on table maintainence so there wasn’t old dishes no longer being used on the table. So I lucked out because my friend doesn’t like pork, little did she know it was delicious pork belly and I didn’t tell her cause I didn’t really wanna share. The steak was really tender too. Chicken was forgettable but still good. For dessert we did the tres leche cake which was amazing and had the perfect amount of sweetness. This is my first rodeo at a ford fry restaurant and I will absolutely be back to Superica and to try his other concepts. Can’t wait for the Buckhead location to open now. One thing to note is, they don’t take reservations so I would probably go on a weekday as opposed to a weekend. Otherwise, it is a great spot with a homey feel, cozy interior. Tex mex is hard to sneak past me, being from California and my family living in San Diego, but I am thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to bring my mom to eat here when she visits Atlanta.

The food was excellent, but the service was so-so. We weren’t greeted until several minutes after we entered, even though 2 or 3 employees walked by. The table service was sub-par as well. If I’m paying $ 15 for 3 tacos, I expect a little more! The tacos al pastor were a little different than I’m used to(chunked pork belly instead of shredded) but was still very tasty. I also had a vampire weekend made with horchata that was also very good. Closer to authentic than most Tex-mex restaurants in Atlanta, but a little too pricey for my taste.

Where do I start with Superica? My husband and I went here on a friend’s recommendation to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. When the staff learned that we were celebrating a special occasion, they went all out to ensure that our experience was unforgettable! We were seated in the best spot in the house, a slightly elevated area that overlooks the entire restaurant. Our server Joslyn provided us with a complimentary appetizer(some sort of seafood medley served with fried tortilla wedges — AMAZING) and a complimentary dessert(tres leches cake — to die for). Not only did they go above and beyond in that regard, but at the end of the meal our check arrived with an anniversary card signed by the restaurant staff. It was so touching and memorable! Of course, food matters as well! The food was spot on. I had the pork belly tacos and my husband had the puffy tacos. Everything was delicious and fresh, and had a slightly modern spin on Tex Mex fare. We practically rolled out of there at the end of the night, we were so full. 10⁄10 would come again next time we’re in town. Superica, thanks for the wonderful experience.

Superica is a Ford Fry(love him!), Tex-Mex restaurant located in the heart of Krog St. Market. Quick tips — they don’t take reservations, so if you’re coming on a busier night or an evening during the weekend, be prepared for a small wait. Depending on what time you come, you can either walk around the market(they’ll take your phone number and text you when your table is ready), grab a drink at the bar, or — if you’re there later at night — you might be able to listen to a live band they have on stage. My group of 6 waited for about an hour and twenty minutes before we were seated for dinner on a Friday evening. Wait time might be less if you choose to sit outside! The food, like many of Ford Fry’s other restaurants, is delicious. I tried the guacamole, parilla mixta and margarita de la casa. The guacamole was good — it just tasted extremely fresh and simple, without a lot of other flavor tones(like lime juice or cilantro or onions) — the avocados were chunky and the most prominent flavor/texture in the appetizer. Every table also gets 2 different salsas(a green and red) along with 2 different types of tortilla chips(a regular and puffy/fried), so you get a good amount of variety at the start of your meal. For the main entrée, I ordered the parilla mixta — the mixed fajita dish that comes with wood-grilled chicken, skirt steak and carnitas. This is a filling option, so I’d definitely suggest splitting the dish with another person. The meat and charred onions is served on a skillet with small cups of guacamole, salsa fresca, a frothy flavored butter, tortillas, rice and beans. I like this mixed option because it gives you a little taste of every meat they offer on the fajitas menu — my two favorites were probably the carnitas and steak. The chicken was good, but I feel like chicken can only go so far in a dish when it’s served in grilled strips. The steak was super tender and flavorful(skirt steak marinated and grilled right!). But the highlight of the meal was probably the carnitas, their twice-cooked pork belly. The meat will melt in your mouth! I’m not an avid eater of pork meat(I’m more of a beef person), but I loved their carnitas dish; definitely a specialty here. Margarita was good — they definitely do not go light on the tequila here! We were celebrating a friend’s birthday recently, and I gave our waiter a heads up about my friend. At the end of our meal, he brought out a complimentary tres leches dessert while singing happy birthday, before presenting my friend with a personalized card that was signed from all the waiters/waitresses on shift that night — it was a really sweet gesture! Overall, this is a trendier place to grab a meal — the location is great since it’s right in Krog Street and the atmosphere is a bit dimmer/relaxed, so you should definitely stop by and give it a visit.

How do I hate this place? Let me count the ways. — No parking — They don’t take phone orders — There’s no designated area for to go orders. — It takes 10 – 15 minutes to get a staff member to take a to go order. Staff are telling you«Oh not me, someone else will take your order». — Staff is curt, hurried, and ignores you. It could Be because they seem severely understaffed, but still. — Takes 30 – 40 minutes to get your food, but there’s no waiting area, and you have to ask 2 – 3 staff members where your order is when their estimate expired 10 minutes before. — Another 10 minutes to pay the bill. Overall, just a below par level of service, and hard to imagine how a place that charges $ 20 a head gets away with just not having it together. Chaos, slow service, poor organization.

I went to Superica for dinner and really enjoyed it. My husband and I got enchiladas and they were delicious. The enchilada portion was small-ish for the price but it was delicious. The menu in general did not have too many options but everything we got was very good. We got the nachos as an appetizer and loved the unique presentation as opposed traditional nachos. The atmosphere was really pleasant and there was simultaneously a relaxed and romantic feel. There was an hour wait when we got there so we put our name down and grabbed a couple of beers at Hop City and walked around Krog Street Market. The wait would have been a bummer anywhere else but since Krog has shopping and places to grab a drink, it flew by. It would be nice if they took reservations. Our overall experience was great.

I loved this place! The chips and salsa especially the chili based brown salsa. The nachos and the queso fundido were fantastic. I had the puffy tacos — 2 chicken and 1 shrimp. I really enjoyed the beans and rice also. I loved my meal here and left to the market afterwards and enjoyed a perfect Jeni’s ice cream trio.

This place was pretty fun. The server was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere was trendy. Good people watching from the large open patio. The food food choices were incredible, but when the food came out it seemed a little bland. I would go again, because of the location, patio and service. Wish the food had a little more flavor.

Between the décor, the food and the service, I effing love this place. I’ve been here for dinner a couple times, but felt particularly inspired to write after a fan-f’ing-tastic brunch yesterday. The weather was great, so we waited about 30 minutes for a seat on the patio. I ordered my Superica & El Felix go-to: crunchy tacos with beef. My MIL also had them and couldn’t stop raving about how amazing they were(I agree – that’s why I can’t stop ordering them!!) DH had the tamales with eggs from the brunch menu and he was blown away. He loved the sauce on the tamales and the runny egg over everything made for the perfect brunch combo. Our server was great and even asked if we were celebrating something(we were – my baby shower weekend). Shortly after pre-busing our table, she returned with a complimentary tres leches cake and is was 100% the most delicious tres leches I’ve ever had. The toasted coconut sprinkled on top seriously makes it. The only thing I don’t love about it is: no reservations. I really wanted to go here for my birthday last year, but a 2 hour wait way too much to stomach, so we ended up at The Luminary. Otherwise, this place can’t be beat at KSM. #fordfryfangirllevel100

I cannot wait to go back to this place of delectable culinary awesomeness. I ordered the Queso dip as an appetizer, followed by the Pork Belly Tacos. They were divine. They food was as good as a hole in the wall I once visited in Santa Barbara, CA called La Superica. If you ever find yourself in Santa Barbara, please don’t miss the opportunity to try La Superica Taqueria. I watched my bartender put a lot of love into a drink she was making. I had to have this aqua green concoction. She used fresh ingredients to create the best margarita I have ever had. Salted rim of course… A sincere thank you to all the Unilocalers that led me to this place of awesomeness in the old fourth ward.

Update: I’ve been here a few times now. The drinks are OK, not up to the rest of the Ford Fry restaurant standards or craft cocktail standards, but definitely decent. The food is amazing. This is definitely my favorite Mexican food in the entire ATL. Puffy tacos. Boom. Brunch? BababaBAM. PORKBELLYTACOS!!! Yeah it’s pretty great. Always worth the wait here.

A restaurant with a cool atmosphere, bar, comfortable seating, and delicious tacos. Also a prime location in the middle of Krog Street Market, a stone’s throw from the Beltline. Superica serves tasty Tex-Mex in a slightly nicer setting. That being said, you don’t have to wear formal attire to dine here. But, the dining area is a little more refined than the rest of the Krog Street Market food court. The restaurant is very good for groups and is fairly dark. There are some black and white films playing on a screen near the entrance connected to the main market. Highlights: All of the meats that I’ve tried in Superica have been fabulous. My first trip to Superica was for dinner after a late lunch. I ordered the steak tacos al carbon, which comes with strips of wood grilled steak, smoked onions, and a side of avocado salsa verde. I took a bite from my taco, and I immediately forgot that I wasn’t super hungry. On my second trip to Superica, I almost went for the same order again. Deciding to be a little more adventurous, I decided to order three tacos a la carte — steak, carnitas, and barbacoa. The carnitas are not merely thin strips of seasoned pork as in other restaurants, but succulent strips of fatty, well marinated pork belly. My barbacoa taco was different from the other two tacos — served on a smaller corn tortilla, this taco came with brisket, queso fresco, and a cabbage slaw. Again, the meat was marinated well. I would say that the barbacoa taco is the most balanced of the tacos in terms of meat and other toppings, but the steak tacos al carbon are still my favorite. The servers are polite and friendly and the cushioned seating in the dining area were really comfortable. I would say that the restaurant wasn’t quiet, but not so loud that you couldn’t hear the people sitting next to you. Chips and salsa are complimentary at the start of your meal. Critiques: The tacos came with a communal order of rice and beans. I thought the rice was a little over-salted. The carnitas tacos, while amazing, would have been really heavy if I ate a full order of three instead of just one. Overall: You really shouldn’t be going to a Tex-Mex restaurant if all you want to eat is rice. The meats are extremely flavorful and the food overall is excellent. Also, the atmosphere is great for meeting up with a group of friends. And, you can walk off all the calories on the Beltline afterwards.

Again and again, Superica knocks it out of the park! Stopped in and got the fajitas platter with steak, pork belly and corn tortillas. I don’t think I’ve had any other tacos even close to as good as these tacos. Killed it! Highly recommend getting the fajitas this way! The pork belly is out of this world We’ll be back!

I wanted to like this place, especially when I had high expectations for it. But overall, it would be an awesome place for a date or to hang out with your buddies, not so much for the food. Would give it a 3.8 Superica is hidden in the corner of Krog market. Entrance that is within the Krog market actually brings you to the back of the restaurant so you have to make your way through the restaurant to the hostess stand. There is a direct entrance from the outside as well. On a whim on a weekend, a table for 2 didn’t take too long. Though it may have been because it was Sunday… Superica starts you off with complimentary chips and salsas(2 types). One was green and refreshing while the other salsa had more of a smoky tomato type of salsa. Both were pretty appetizing and tasted fresh to make up for the chips that were a bit bland. Though it wasn’t to the degree that I had to pour a whole canister of salt on it, which I saw someone do, and couldn’t help myself to smile =) For our entrees, we chose the highlighted dishes that was recommended on Unilocal.I ordered the chile relleno and my friend ordered the Al pastor, pork belly tacos. I actually liked the ingridents and flavor of the tacos, but the tortilla was dry and not good. My chili relleno was a bit lacking as well. Anything smothered in cheese is great and the pepper and filling tasted good, except the corn. I love corn, but in this dish, it felt like an after thought and they just added it in as fillers. If it was cooked first and added, I think it would enhance the dish by 100%. Otherwise, I felt like I was eating corn from the can. Oh, and they also bring you Spanish rice and beans as complimentary with your dishes, which weren’t too bad as well. Overall, thought the dishes on their menu were overpriced for what they had to offer. Oh, so on Unilocal, there was many reviews to check out the bathroom. I checked it out and here’s the breakdown. Bathrooms are unisex. There’s a screen door in front of the actual door, which serves no purpose. So, when you open the screen door, you’ll either see occupied and vacant, like the airplane lavatories. Inside, they play country music and the sink is the size of the sinks in lavatories. Mystery solved.

(3.5 stars) Just got done with a chemical peel and mani from a Unilocal Elite event just down the street at WAX Atlanta and wanted to grab dinner at Krog Steet Market. Last time I was here, I don’t think this spot opened yet, so my friend and I decided to dine here. We started off with complimentary chips and tomato salsa and green tomatillo salsa. Chips were a little stale, but I liked that it was just lightly salted and not poured with salt as I find common in some of these Tex Mex restaurants. I liked both salsas because they had a freshly made taste with a little kick to it. I opted to get the Al Pastor(3 pork belly tacos). The pork belly chunks were delicious and grilled pineapple complimented the pork belly very well. I also tried my friend’s Chili Relleno — it had too many layers of cheese on top, but otherwise it was pretty flavorful. I enjoyed both dishes, but honestly it is somewhat over priced for what we got. I could have just gone to Taco Veloz and get the same thing for a fraction of the price. All in all, nice place to grab some decent Mexican food in the area if you don’t mind paying for premium price.
I noticed they have a nice bar area along one side of the restaurant, which will be great for a girls night. They also have a nice patio area which will be nice once the weather warms up. The restaurant was really dark inside which was good for us, since our makeup came off during our facial! The interior is a little gimmicky of Texas/Mexican cowboy theme surrounding the restaurant. The bathrooms are interesting too, but a little confusing. Individual Bathrooms are lined up next to each other with one screen door and one door into the bathroom. You’ll need to open the screen door first to see if the bathroom is «occupied» or «vacant»

While out and about in ATL with one of my buddy’s that lives here, we decided to make a stop at the Krog Street Market. Mainly to just check it out and see what its all about. As we had not had our first adult beverage of the day, all of the high praises from my friend about Superica led us there for a margarita. They have a great selection of different margaritas and friendly, helpful bartenders. A great start to my maiden voyage of Superica. The margarita, first of all was phenomenal. So much, that another one magically appeared in my hand! What a delightful problem to have. Getting late in the afternoon, two margaritas down, and our dinner plans were getting pushed further and further back. That hunger creeps in and you don’t know what to do! Well if you are at Superica’s bar, you do one thing… order the pork belly tacos! These tacos were nothing short of amazing. It was not overly greasy, low quality pork belly. These were flavorful and filling. The tacos come with beans and rice of course. The rice was good(actually better than good) but the beans… outstanding! They put a hefty amount of cheese on the top and broil them crispy brown. I have heard the mole is just as good. So next time I’m in the A, hopefully this place will be on my agenda!

I’ve been to Superica a few times and I have to say that everything is entirely too salty here. I am actually required by my doctor to eat a high salt diet so when I say that the food is salty, it’s really salty. The chips, salsas and all of the food items are super salty. The one item that is salty but not to the point of making my face scrunch up salty is the queso fundido. You can’t really go wrong with melted cheese and homemade tortillas. The drinks here are pretty good, but I don’t drink tequila so I tend to stay away from the alcoholic beverages here. The service is also usually pretty slow here. This probably leads to the long wait times.

Something went wrong… like wrong! Everything was great til our real food hit the table and I’m kind of upset about it. The steak fajita nachos that I love so much have changed… this is my second bad batch in a row and this time my brother and I both got an order(bc that’s how awesome they used to be), but the nachos were burnt, the steak wasn’t seasoned well at all(my brother barely ate his and this man will eat dog food if it’s seasoned well), the dollop of guac… turned into the amount leftover on a knife after you dip it. I love this place and had turned it into my safe haven for awesome food, but I’m scared to try something else for fear it’ll be great a few times and never again. The atmosphere is still awesome. thank goodness and our server Ashley was awesome! Like she was awesome. This experience was 1 star, the server was 5(give her superica stock), but the shell shock is real. It’s like I’m full but mad bc it was not a smart use of my money and calories this time. But once again… Ashley is my Superica hero.
