Off the charts awesome! I had the burrito, Sweet Potatos, Mac and cheese, and corn bread. I loved every bite. The atmosphere and kindness of the staff was just as wonderful. I will be coming back before I head back to utah.

Our experience matched Lauren E.‘s below. No one met us at the door so we did not know what to do. One of the 3 of us got the dinner but 2 wanted a sandwich so after waiting at least 5 minutes to be served the cafeteria style dinner plate we were told to go to the cash register line to order the sandwiches. Then the clerk was confused by us ordering the sandwiches, we had to get a menu to speak word for word what sandwich we wanted. They do not have ordinary tap water so you have to buy bottled water. It took 20 minutes, after two requests, to have our sandwiches brought to us as promised. We think they forgot about them as they were cold when they arrived to the table. Menus are almost non-existent so look at their menu online and know what you want before you get there. And be advised that all of the main dish options are NOT available on a single day-from that group of main dished they will have two from which you can choose from. The portions are good, the food is good. But we were trying to impress an omnivore, we picked the wrong place to try and do that. I agree with another comment, get your food to go and you will be a happy camper.

Very good Vegan restaurant. The layout of the place is a ‘weeeee’ bit confusing if you’ve never been there before, but there was luckily a customer that guided us to the back of the place, which is where you need to start at. The staff inside was incredibly helpful and dutiful in their roles. The food was served up kind of like a cafeteria in the back, complete with service trays. The place was clean and well kept, and the décor and ambience was nice. The food was pretty consistently good, with our one exception being the cornbread. We had the stir fried rice with tofu and veggies, the Vegan Mac and Cheez, the Jerk Tofu, Yellow Lentil Soup, and black eyed peas over rice, plus the aforementioned cornbread. Everything besides the cornbread was great… well flavored, perfectly textured, and just the right seasoning. The cornbread was dry, lacked much flavor, and lacked that subtle sweet taste I prefer in cornbread. All in all, a solid Atlanta vegan option.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. The mac n cheeze is out of this world, and their bbq tofu is drool-worthy. Veg comfort food nirvana.

I had BBQ tofu and two sides, and I thought I wouldn’t finish it all when the plate was put in front of me. But I did. The BBQ sauce was great; so were the yams and mac and cheese(vegan mac and cheese, so obviously a little«different» if you’re accustomed to dairy). The garlic sauce that comes with the salads is really delicious. I will go back.

The Prince dress is the ONLY thing that is consistent. I luv there eggless but today it was sweet. For this place to prepare some of the BEST vegetarian dishes in the city I have yet to understand WHY they can NOT have a fully trained staff EVER! Smh… We can’t even call in orders to be ready due to a 30 minute drive from Powder Springs. Smh if they ever get staffed right the line for food AND the juice bar will wrap around the mall because the food is devine!

Soul veg had a stand at veg fest and it was the only thing I tasted that I actually wanted to pay for. The Kale bone sandwich it was soooo yummy. I tried the ice cream and purchased a pint to take home.

This juice bar is never open. Every single time I try to support, I can never get what I want and I have to drive to Smyrna to Goodness Grocery, where they never let me down.

I never knew breaded cauliflower could be so wonderful. I was so full from the cauliflower potato basket with a side of mac n cheese, I didn’t get to try the«IceKream». The food is delicious!

My friend and I tried this place last night. It was the best, especially the Mac n cheese! I’m still converting into becoming vegan and the owner was informative on his vegan experience. I love how fellow vegans come together, even those that aren’t vegan and have interest on learning what it’s about and eventually wanting to convert.

Delicious kalebone sandwich and collards. Figuring out the menu and how to order was confusing, for sure, and service was a little slow, but the food made it worthwhile and I will go back. I appreciate that they are an independent, black-owned restaurant providing alternatives to the disastrous and omnipresent fast food in the area. Note: the menu had items they no longer carry, as they are transitioning away from all fried and unhealthy foods. I appreciate that goal, but once I see something on a menu and get a hankering, it’s disappointing to be told it isn’t available.

I visit here often over for quite some time now. The food is healthy, delicious and vegetarian. The portion sizes are always great, too, so you can expect to be full if you order an entrée with sides(like broccoli and their mac and«cheese»), salad and bread. My favorite selections are their kalebone bbq, the pizza, their cornbread and homeade salad dressing. My wife loves the dressing as well and my son loves their cornbread and deserts(of course). When it comes to ordering, the two things you learn are: 1. you can either go up to the line cafeteria style and order from what’s already displayed OR you can be seated and order from the menu. 2. you can either order to go or be seated and eat there. In either case above, you pay at the cash register at the end of the line(far right side). If you’re a first timer, it can be a bit confusing at first, glance but it’s really not that difficult to catch on and the staff guide you through as needed. The staff is also very friendly and the food is typically very good. On rare occasions, I’ve had veggies there that were a bit overcooked, but typically they cook them just right where nutrients remain in them(crisp). Finally, I highly recommend the smoothie shop. The entrance is to the left of the cafeteria line, so it’s almost seems like a separate part of the restaurant. You really can’t go wrong with any of their shakes, all made from their own soy cream called Dream-Kream.

Venue: Soul Vegetarian Restaurant Décor: Tables & chairs, cafeteria style to a degree Service: Nice, Kinda slow, ordering food was a labyrinth(shouldn’t be that difficult) Environment: Laid back, Food: Eh Eh, not great, not bad, all vegetarian, smoothies, tofu, etc. Prices: Ehhhh slightly on the pricey side for a vegetarian spot Debbie Downers: Slow Service, Average food, slow wait, poor system Conclusion: First of all SVR, you need a new food orderer. You know, the guy at the register. I never saw so much difficulty in ordering food at the cash register in my life! And when I read the reviews before trying this place– — THEYWERERIGHTABOUTTHIS! The best thing I had from here was the smoothie. The green one with the peanut butter(i don’t remember the name right off hand but will update this review when I remember). I feel sorry for those who said this is the best mac-n-cheese…they really haven’t experienced life! However, this is the complete alternative on the West End as most places that surround here are fast food places. It was ok to try but wouldn’t go out of my way across town if life depended on it. Overall: C

The reviews that talk about how difficult it is to order are right on the money. The staff was sweet and friendly but I kept getting redirected to other staff and a separate bar to order my drink. They don’t seem to have a system in place which is frustrating. BUT the food was good and the smoothie was the best I’ve had in a while. I won’t be dining in but I would suggest calling ahead and picking up an order. It’s a nice option to have in the west end besides fast food and pizza.

I’m not from Atlanta and I’ve never been to this restaurant. It’s cafeteria-style which always makes me feel like I’m the only kid who doesn’t know what’s going on. Fortunately, I was greeted by the nicest person. He gave me the walk through on what was available and was generally pleasant. I also had really nice chats with two other workers. The food: delicious! Tofu with gravy, collard greens, veggie mac, and cornbread. I thought the portions were very liberal. I was definitely full before my plate was empty. I purchased a desert to go because there was no way that was getting consumed after I ate all of the savory food. I could see how someone might get poor service or feel off-put. The restaurant seemed to be ran more like a family kitchen than a professional establishment. I like that though. Two few notes: the floor was a little slick(it was raining today), so be careful. And, I read on a few reviews about this being in «the ghetto.» It’s not fancy, but I didn’t feel unsafe. Lastly, I also read in reviews that it was pricy, I don’t agree. The desert was the most pricy part, but my lunch was ~$ 12. For tasty vegan food, that’s not bad.

This location is my 1st stop when I visit Atl hands down the best Vegan/Veggie food in the metro Atl area. The mac and cheese and gravey burger are always on point. Protein tidbits are great and so is the lasagna. Portions are worth the money. Staff is always pleasant. Parking for the restaurant is across the street in the thift store’s lot

Surrounded by Popeye’s, Church’s Chicken, Gutbuster’s, and Krispy Kreme, it was only Soul Vegetarian that seemed to realize that students of the numerous colleges within walking distance, might want/need to eat vegetables or «not chicken» once in a while. I wouldn’t call it particularly delicious or gourmet, per se, as something on the plate usually tends to be a little off, but overall, I have been satisfied with my meals here. Not to mention, this is a local, black-owned business and you can tell that your money helps to support the local community. Food: I don’t think any of the meat substitutes taste like meat; they tend to be overly salty. The mac and cheese is a bit inconsistent; it has never tasted like it has real cheese to me, but it might be close enough if you haven’t eaten cheese in a long time. The brunch buffet is decent but usually during brunch time, you cannot order off of the regular menu. The portions are generous, and you do have(limited) options for proteins, vegetables, and carbs. The ginger juice they sell in the bottle is very tasty! They also sell vegan ice cream. Disclaimer: They actually used to give us free food as college students who attended their lecture series(and offered a free trip to their settlement in Dimona, Israel). If you are not aware, this restaurant is run by the Hebrew Israelites, or the African Hebrew Israelite Nation of Jerusalem who believe that they descend from the Lost Tribes of Israel, and that Israel is part of Africa. Not«Black Jews,» because believe they descend from various tribes, not just that of Judah. They live a vegan, alcohol-free, drug free lifestyle. Since I appreciate their welcoming attitude and free, nutritious meals when I needed them most, I will forever be a fan. I ordered carry-out from the Virginia Highlands location once, and I was very impressed, but when I went there again and dined in, I was disappointed. So, I no longer think that Virginia Highlands is better. At both locations, the service is pretty good, but I would not expect them to be particularly attentive… the service style tends to be rather laid-back or «chill,» but friendly.
