Forced to come here again for work. Needless to say our service was horrible. Apparently they think service doesn’t matter at all. Management/owners clearly do not think that customers are important and since they stay busy, regardless of poor service, they do not care about the customers supporting their business.

You desperately need to come here. Came here on a Friday night with my family and had an incredible time. The staff was super helpful and friendly but the food… Oh man. The Strozzapreti alla Salsiccia was heavenly, an outrageously good combination of hand made noodles and sweet sausage that I can’t see anyone disliking(except vegetarians). Also I would definitely recommend the chocolate hazelnut soup they have, trust me it’s delicious. Overall though, Sotto Sotto is the ideal perfect restaurant for me. It’s comfortable, delicious, and lively. EATHERE.

I adore a good mushroom pasta and that’s exactly what I ordered on my visit. We started with the mussels which were delightful. The mushroom pasta had a delightful crema. The portion was large but it was so good it touched my soul so there was no way I would leave remnants.

A classy, chic cozy upscale italian spot perfect for date night or a small group gathering. Service was excellent, our waitress was able to suggest wine pairings for each of our dish selections. Ordered the mushroom risotto and it was delicious! The quantity was great, plenty for leftovers– and hey if you are paying $ 18 for risotto then it’s nice to know you’re at least paying for worthy portions. To go with our main course, we ordered the special appetizer caprese salad with burrata, basil and heirloom tomatoes. All the food was fresh and tasty. Overall great experience, wish I had room for dessert. Would have loved to see a few more gluten free pasta options aside from just risotto but if you’re in the mood for some good italian with a great vibe and atmosphere, this is your spot.

Once again Sotto Sotto was Eccellente!!! Thanks Chef Riccardo!!! What a wonderful birthday celebration. We started with the Antipasta Misto. It was so good. For dinner we ordered 4 dishes and shared with the 4 of us. We had Risotto ai Funghi — mushroom risotto, Strozzapreti alla Salsiccia — hand made«Priest Strangler», sweet sausage ragu — one of my favorite, Lasagnette alla Bolognese — baked Lasagnette, Bolognese, béchamel and Tortelli di Michelangelo Buonaroti — A 16th century recipe from his letters: veal, chicken and pork ravioli, butter/sage sauce! And for dessert zuppa al cioccolato — chocolate soup. If this doesn’t have you making a reservation to Sotto Sotto right away I don’t know what would. It’s authentic, fresh, so tasty and a must!!! Bravo di niente!!!

I went here back in 2008 off a recommendation I read in creative loafing. The occasion was my mom’s birthday. The food was fantastic. Great Italian food. I got the Linguine del Pescatore. I loved it. Very intimate restaurant. A nice, soothing atmosphere. I need to seriously make plans to come back here.

After growing up in the Northeast, I am always skeptical of Italian places in the South. That said, Sotto Sotto is an authentic place that does it all right. Delicious food, great service, and a nice ambiance combine for one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Atlanta. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer, which were plentiful and tasty. A tad pricey, but I absolutely felt like we got our money’s worth. The bread was fresh and delicious, though I forget where it was baked. The menu offers a few main course options– risotto, pasta, or meat/fish courses. My pasta– Strozzapreti Alla Salsiccia, or «priest strangler” — was homemade and absolutely delicious. The sweet sausage ragu was just incredible. I would recommend this to anybody and will have a hard time not re-ordering it whenever we go back. My wife had the asparagus risotto, which was also very good and a little different from anything I have tried before. though we stuck to pasta. The main courses we did see looked good(they did a table side fish preparation next to us, which was cool to watch), though they seemed less traditional Italian and more reminiscent of Italian steakhouse fare. For dessert, we got the chocolate soup, which was very good. I heard a great deal about the wine list, and it is certainly expansive. My wife had a Sicilian red which was very tasty that she really enjoyed. I had a glass of the Spelt Montepulciano, which I thought was good(though I’m not a wine guy). I also had a second glass of the Valpolicella, which was okay but a bit overpowering and probably not worth the price tag. Price-wise, it was definitely more expensive than most Italian places, but not absurdly so and I think the extra couple bucks are totally worth it. I’m very happy we finally visited Sotto Sotto and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I can’t wait to go back.

After wanting to eat here for the longest time, we finally made it. I like the intimate and rustic style of the restaurant. It feels Italian and has great ambiance. Our waiter was great. He knew everything there was to know about the wines, the food, the business itself, and it was quite impressive. The attentiveness of the staff was spot on, and timing of food was great. We shared antipasti as an appetizer, and it was awesome. Great selection of meat and cheese. Our table had a variety of pasta dishes and they were all awesome. Lots of flavor in everything. We also got a good sampling of desserts. We left happy and full, and I’m glad I finally got to eat here

Went here for Inman Park restaurant week and enjoyed the $ 35 three course menu, which was definitely a steal. We made an 8:30 reservation and were right on time, but did have to wait a few minutes. I went with two friends, and we all ordered the scallops as our starter. The waiter said they were his favorite thing as far as starters go. I enjoyed them, but they were a unique twist on scallops with white beans and a light, but red sauce. I had the priest strangler sausage ragu pasta which was killer. I would definitely order it again. The sauce made it so good. My friends had the duck tortellini and Tagliatelle ai Funghi and both enjoyed their dishes very much. We split desserts and everything was good but the chocolate soup was definitely the best. The service was phenomenal. Our waiter constantly checked on us, but not too much that it was annoying. Our water was always full and he waited until everyone was finished to clear each course. The atmosphere was quaint and cute. They added more tables for restaurant week so it was pretty cramped, but I can understand why they would do this. The patio looked like a great place to sit on a nice night, but it was a little chilly when we were there to sit outside. I would definitely go back for a fancy Italian dinner, especially if family is in town. Sotto Sotto is a great restaurant right in Inman Park that’s definitely worth checking out.

Good food, good service. Went here on Valentine’s Day(or the day before) and really enjoyed it. The food was good, service fast, drinks delicious. The only thing is, be a little more patient with those who don’t understand the menu. We had two couples on either side of us who did not really understand the menu so they asked questions, the waiters just did not seem to really help. Almost this type of arrogance that is really not needed in waiters who should be there to help.

Unfortunately, I have to give them a 3 star even with all the good reviews I received for this place. One, I think my waiter didn’t like that I wanted ice with my water and I think he started judging us after that. So my service wasn’t very friendly. We got the infamous Strozzapreti alla Salsiccia. Not impressed at all. It didn’t have much sauce, the noodles were a bit undercooked, and there wasn’t much meat in it. It almost gave me the feeling of some hamburger helper. We also had the Tortellini di Michelangelo Buonarotti(ravioli with 3 meats) which was very flavorful. It probably wouldn’t be enough food for a guy but it was enough for me.

Great Italian. The arugula salad is simple, fresh, and amazing. The butternut squash ravioli and the deconstructed lasagna plate are my two favorites of the 7 or so entrees I have had here. Can’t go wrong with any desert. If they would pour the chocolate soup over the bread pudding, I would be in heaven. I have been here with a large group and had family plates to share with table, great experience. My favorite Italian in Atlanta.

This little place is easy to miss, there isn’t a huge sign and the restaurants on this corner all kind of blend in to look like it could just be one. Valet parking was around the corner, so we got the car parked and made our way to the restaurant. We had an early reservations because of other engagements so we were there right when they opened. Or, when they were supposed to open. We stood around awkwardly for several minutes, then a few more while we waited for someone to unlock the door. We shared the antipasto misto– it had a variety of meats, cheeses, olives, and mushrooms. It’s a good starter for two people, but with the four people we had at the table, we were very ready to get to our entrees. Someone got the first course size of the risotto ai funghi. My god, it was delicious. Rich, creamy, slightly cheesy. If we hadn’t already ordered, I would have immediately changed mine to one of the risottos. We ordered the cacio, pepe e pancetta(spaghetti, pancetta, black pepper), another pasta dish, veal, and ribeye. To be honest, I’ve had better beef(but that wasn’t my entrée, so it didn’t especially bother me). But the veal was great(the person who ordered it put this restaurant in their top 5) and my pasta was fresh, light, and flavorful. Service was excellent. He brought us more bread, helped us with our indecisiveness, refilled our drinks, and made sure we were taken care of. I’d definitely return.

Best italian meal I’ve had in town. Everything was great. Got a reservation, seated promptly. Started with Prosciutto e Melone(just the regular — the truffle oil version was a little much) — tasted great. For dinners we had Tortelli di Michelangelo Buonarotti, Ravioli Nudi, and Polletto al Limone — all were great. Each was very flavorful and unique. Service was great throughout; nice pace. The valet is around the corner — took a couple trips around the block to figure it out — but hey it’s free for 2 hours.

One of the best Italian restaurants in atlanta. The moment we walked in we were in awe with the décor and coziness of Sotto Sotto. Nestled in the heart of Poncy highlands it’s the perfect area for a weekend night. Though the area is very crowded and street parking is always packed, the restaurant does offer private parking. It’s not a very huge eatery and hence making advanced reservations is a good idea to avoid long waits. The bar area is small, though you can eat at the bar but due to its size you’ll be surrounded by people waiting for their table so keep the bar just for drinks. Though it was a very busy night when we visited yet our server was very efficient. He was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good advise about the food. Even at the bar the bartender let us sample 2 – 3 wines before we made our selection. That was very classy and something not many restaurants do. As for food, go there with an empty stomach. The portion sizes are very generous and loaded with flavors. As for the food recommendation; the seafood mix pasta with tomato sauce was scrumptious. Each bite of the pasta had the seafood flavors yet there wasn’t the seafood smell. The seafood mix itself was perfectly cooked. We had no room for dessert but will surely give it a try the second time.

I was pretty disappointed in this place. My partner and I went here for our 11th anniversary dinner and it was kind of blah. Not at all what I was hoping for. We had always had good experiences at Fritti and were expecting the same here. Not the case. I will start with the service… We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. No complaints there. We were seated in the back corner of the restaurant and had to pull the table out to get in. Kind of weird but, okay. Then… we waited… and waited. and waited. We were finally served after about 15 awkward minutes. Our server was kind of spaced out when he did arrive and he didn’t really greet us or anything. We kind of had to guide the experience which was weird. As in «Okay, we will start with some wine», instead of «Would you like to start with a glass of wine, or a cocktail». It just got worse from there. There were huge gaps in service and then about halfway through our meal, a new server popped up and said he would be taking care of us for the rest of the night. We asked why and he said that our previous server was off for the night, yet we saw him serving others. The whole thing was just WEIRD! Not the experience or service I expected. The food was very mediocre, too. We started with an olive oil appetizer. This was the best part of the meal. Then, I had the mushroom risotto, which was bland and gummy and my partner had the tagliatelle. Neither one of us were impressed and left feeling like we needed a «do over». Rarely do I contact a restaurant, but in this case I had to. The manager contacted me back and asked us to let him know next time we were there and he would take care of us, but after an experience like this, I wont be wasting my time going back. I know this place has pretty good reviews overall, so I’m not sure why our experience was so terrible.

I first discovered Sotto Sotto, one of the shining stars of Atlanta’s restaurant scene, during Inman Park restaurant week several years ago. It’s lost some of the limelight and buzz to new dining destinations like Krog St. Market and Ponce City Market, but it’s worth checking out. Sotto Sotto is a destination restaurant, fine dining to be savored, not a quick bite before a movie. It definitely qualifies as a date night restaurant. The staff is well trained and, in what has become a rarity these day, reservations are actually honored on time. They manage their tables and dining room well. Seating, however, is tight with tables being slid to one side to slip between them. It’s easy to find a favorite dish and get stuck ordering the same thing time after time. But you’ll be cheating yourself if you don’t explore the menu further. The first dish I ever tried was risotto, creamy, rich and swoon worthy. But the Strozzaputi alla Salsiccia(hand– made priest strangler pasta with sweet sausage ragu) is a favorite I keep returning to. I recently tried the Tortelli di Mele, sausage and apple ravioli with butter/sage sauce for its sweet and savory qualities. I thought it spent too much time in the pan and was too crispy around the edges, a little too caramelized. The Tortelli de Michelangelo, noted as a recipe from his letters, is veal, chicken, beef and pork ravioli in butter/sage sauce has gotten great reviews from dining companions. I’m anxious to try the ravioli nuda, spinach and ricotta gnocchi. It seems to get delivered to every other table. My inner beet lover always has me ordering the roasted beet salad with arugula, pistachios, Gargonzola, lemon and olive oil. It never disappoints. But on my last visit I branched out and tried the Tuscan faro with fall squash, toasted pumpkin seeds, olive oil and sherry vinegar. Wow, what a nice alternative, the nutty faro and slight crunch of pumpkin seeds combined nicely with the squash. I like how they’ve tweaked this salad to incorporate fall ingredients. The zupal cioccolato, warm Belgian chocolate soup with croutons and hazelnut whipped crème, is hard to pass up for dessert, but I couldn’t resist the pumpkin gelato on my last visit. My only complaint is that offerings of wine by the glass seem to have really diminished. Just a note if you’re lucky enough to visit during Inman Park Restaurant Week. They are not one of those restaurants that chooses three cheap entrees for the restaurant week menu, but incorporate most of their menu into a $ 25 or $ 35 menu, making it one of the great deals of restaurant week. Snag a reservation as quickly as possible.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta for the past 15 years. Nestled along the northern end of North Highland Ave, one feels like a mob-chieftan as you walk through the velvet curtain door and enter this timeless bistro. You can’t go wrong with their signature cocktails or the antipasto misto, both are constantly great. I’ve never been disappointed with the Tortelli di Michelangelo or Seafood Risotto. Both are ‘signature’ Ricardo Ullio dishes and will titillate the most discriminate of palettes. Whether you’re on a first date, or taking your wife out on the town: you’re sure to score big by taking them here!

We stumbled upon Inman Park while walking on the belt line eastside trail while visiting Atlanta. I have celiac so I am always looking out for gluten free food. Their pastas are not gluten free, so that was slightly disappointing. However, all the risottos and most of the entrees were gluten free. Great wine selection, server was very well versed with it. The meal was very good but the service was shaky and lost them half a star.

Overall 5⁄5 Food 5⁄5 Price 5⁄5 Service 5⁄5 Atmosphere 5⁄5 Nutshell: An intimate modern restaurant that serves authentic freshly made Italian food. Perfect for a nice date out. Food: Caprese was fresh and helped open up our pallets. Came with basil leaves, few splices of heriloom tomatoes and a modernly sized mozzarella chunk. My only critique is the the dish should have a side of balsamic vinegar or at least dress/infuse the tomato with it as the acidity would balance the dish out more, and furthermore brings out the flavor of the tomato more to create a starker contrast of flavors. The wild mushroom risotto came with an assortment of mushrooms that provided different earthy notes and varying sweetness. The rice was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and not too runny. Overall a well balanced rich dish. The gnocchi was like eating a fluffy cloud that melts in your mouth with rich flavors. The brown butter sauce was also on point. Price: Apps 8 – 12. Entrée 18 – 25. Portions were quite large which was a huge +. Service: Our server was professional and friendly. Did not have a hovering feeling. Water was always topped off. Appropriately removed all dishes together when finished. Came by multiple times to check up on us. Atmosphere: A dimly lit cute restaurant that has both indoor and outdoor(not facing cars). All tables have a candle which makes it very romantic. The tables are fairly spaced apart. Though not too pricey, the upscale modern décor makes you feel like your in a $$$ restaurant.

Went to Sotto Sotto for Inman Park restaurant week with a couple of girlfriends and really enjoyed our experience. We actually walked into Fritti by mistake, but the kind hostess helped us to the correct place. It was pouring rain outside, so she showed us how to get there without getting wet. Super sweet of her! Major bonus points for valet! Street parking would have been a major pain — especially when it was pouring outside. Service overall was excellent. Everyone made sure we were ok. The atmosphere is quaint and up-scale without being stuffy or pretentious. We opted for the $ 25 dollar menu and it was a great deal. For starters, I had the roasted beet salad with arugula and blue cheese. I was a little hesitant about the blue cheese and luckily it came as a whole piece on the salad and not crumbled and mixed into everything. The gorgonzola was surprisingly creamy and not too funky. For my entrée, I had the Strozzapreti alla Salsiccia which consisted of hand-made«Priest Strangler» pasta drenched in a sweet sausage ragu. One girlfriend described it as an up-scale version of hamburger helper! Which is fine with me, since I have a fond place in my heart for it. The«priest strangler» pasta is actually very thick rolled long pasta strands and were very good with the sauce. I also had a couple bites of my other friends’ pastas. The Tortelli di Michelangelo — a ravioli that consists of veal, chicken, pork in a brown butter sage sauce was delicious. Another ravioli I sampled was the Tortelli di Mele which wasn’t so good and the filling consisted of sausage and apple. The apple made it a little too sweet and tangy for my taste. For dessert, I had the pistachio gelato which was a good palate cleanser and one of the best pistachio gelato I’ve had. I also tried the Zuppa al Cioccolato which is a melted chocolate soup. It’s best to tag team desserts and drench your gelato with the chocolate. I also sampled the Dolce al Mascarpone which is a trifle of whipped mascarpone cheese with layers of crumbled amaretti cookies soaked in spiced rum. You can definitely taste the rum. Great Inman Park restaurant week dining experience. Great deal as well.

Thanks to Inman Park Restaurant Week, I FINALLY had an excuse to eat at Sotto Sotto. And it was a doozy. Valet parking is shared with Fritti, so don’t be confused like we were. Complimentary for 2 hours(we were actually parked here for almost 3 hours, but they let it slide, thanks!!). Street parking is pretty available throughout the area, just depends on weather and how poppin’ it is. Due to the rainy weather, we decided to go ahead and valet park. I made a reservation on OpenTable(100 points) for 7 at 7:30 the afternoon before. They called shortly after to confirm and allowed us to modify our reservation up to 8 people, no problem. A few of us arrived a little early, but we couldn’t be seated until the entire party had arrived. The dining area is quaint, and seems a bit small. I believe there is a back room seating area, but even then, the waiting area and bar was SO cramped with a mob of people waiting for their table or for their drinks. Our server offered us both the normal and the Restaurant Week menus, as they were serving both. I noticed that the $ 25 menu was pretty week(salad only appetizers and only two dessert options) and I saw the $ 35 menu had scallops as an appetizer. I was all in. I also ordered the mushroom risotto and the Panna Cotta to top of my meal. I was surprised there was no signature cocktail list but they do have a full bar. I politely turned down the hefty and pricey wine list. The complimentary bread was just ok, but the complementary olive oil was fragrant, even without the pepper. Cape Sante — while it could have gone without the overwhelming flavor of truffle oil, the two jumbo scallops were seared to near perfection. The garlic and soft white beans resulted in a creamy texture. I couldn’t help but soak up the juices and sauce with the complimentary bread. Risotto ai Funghi — I can’t say enough how GOOD this version of the mushroom risotto is. I’ve had it in Italy, and my favorite that I’ve had to date was in Rome, but this is a close second. The mushrooms littered the risotto in a strong and flavorful way. Of all the other entrees I sampled, this was the best dish, by a long shot. Panna Cotta — yes yes yes yes yes. Creamy deliciousness on a plate. I could barely finish the dessert it was so rich and substantial. The balsamic vinegar seemed a little unnecessary and definitely made the dessert less sweet. However, it did cut into the heavy cream and changed the flavor in each bite. I also got to try a few bites of my friends’ meals. All of the pasta dishes had super thin and light pastas, which I found refreshing. How often do you find a pasta like that? I hate when thick and doughy pastas stick to the lining of my stomach. This was probably some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Overall, I had a perfect meal. Service left a little to be desired but I did have my water refilled occasionally and he didn’t necessarily do anything wrong. We even got a bread refill! I felt snubbed a couple of times, but I got everything I needed. I’m going to miss Restaurant Week, but I loved the concept and I loved getting to try Sotto Sotto on a softer budget!

This is a small place tucked away and easy to miss. I passed by it several times looking for a signage, but I didn’t see any. Finally found the spot. When I walked in I asked the host if I was in the right place because there was no signage out there. He was a little abrupt in his response. Who knows, maybe locals have an easier time finding the place. On to my dining experience. My server was excellent. I started off with a glass of Chianti which was very tasty. The bread and olive oil was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer. Wow, it was a huge portion! Managed to get through 80% of it, but had to stop, otherwise I wouldn’t have room for main course. Dipping the bread in the mussel broth was delicious!!! Server was nice enough to bring more bread without our asking. For the main course we shared the lasagna and halibut with garlic spinach and potatoes. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. We topped it all off with the gelato sampler — mango, mixed berries and chocolate. All were very good, but the mango tasted like I was actually eating the fruit in each spoonful! Wow, this was an excellent choice of restaurant. Although the evening started off a little rocky, the great service and amazing food made up for it and definitely deserves the four stars!!!

I had a fantastic experience on my most recent visit to Sotto Sotto. The food, atmosphere and service were all top quality. I rarely think about having Italian, but Sotto Sotto is worth a trip. The restaurant is located in Inman Park beside Fritti. Parking is available on the nearby streets and also valet behind the restaurant. My boyfriend and I stopped in around 7:30 on a Thursday night. The space was fairly full so I imagine on the weekends a reservation is a good idea. The back patio is a lovely area filled with ivy, umbrellas and several tables. Inside is warm with two and four top tables fairly close to each other. Sotto Sotto offers complimentary bread and olive oil service. For $ 3 you can you can request a tasting of house made olive oils. The menu is fairly large with several antipasti and salad options from assorted olives to house cured sashimi tuna to bufula mozzarella. We started with an order of mussels served in an olive oil, garlic and lemon sauce. This comes with a ton of large mussels that were really delicious. For your main meal Sotto Sotto has several risotto, pasta and meat options. It was a hard decision, but after seeing it on my neighbors table I opted for the Risotto Ai Fruti di Mare(seafood risotto). It was filled with a variety of seafood from clams to scallops to a tiny octopus. This became one of my favorite dishes in Atlanta. My boyfriend got the Tagliatelle Alla Tre P which is fresh pasta with peas and ham in a cream sauce. It was good, but I think the Risotto was better. Our server was extremely friendly and spaced out our meal incredibly well. We were there at least two hours, but we never felt like we were just sitting around twiddling our thumbs. Overall, I highly recommend Sotto Sotto if you are looking for a classic Italian meal in Atlanta.

We enjoyed a beautiful stroll from our house to Sotto Sotto. We were promptly seated, even though we were 15 minutes early. We were among the first to be seated. Sotto Sotto is a very small restaurant with great atmosphere. Service was impeccable. We ordered a glass of prosecco to begin with. It was a perfect start to our meal. It was light and semi-dry and wonderful. We then ordered the mussel appetizer and the mozzarella appetizer. The mussels were so delicious and fresh. The accompanying bread was good, but not wonderful. My boyfriend loved the mozzarella. The chunks of cheese were just too much for me. I ordered the«Tagliatelle ai Funghi» and my boyfriend ordered the whole fish of the day, which was durod. Our server delivered the durod and deboned it before our eyes. The presentation was beautiful. but the fish was rather bland. It tasted very fresh, but it just lacked flavor. It tasted as though it had been poached. It probably would have been much tastier if it had been broiled. My tagliatelle ai funghi was AMAZING. I am going to dream about this dish forever. The wild mushrooms combined with the sauce and pasta were insanely wonderful. This dish was better than any mushroom dish I’ve had in Italy. My boyfriend insisted that we order desert, so we ordered the three flavor gelatos. We had pistachio, raspberry and chocolate. OMG. Delicious! The flies did drive me crazy. Granted this is a hot season in Georgia, but the flies should be controlled. Also, the tables are very cramped. I don’t like the feeling that I’m having dinner with strangers while on a romantic date. Our table was so tiny that it just wasn’t very comfortable. Even though there were very few people in the restaurant when we arrived, the host refused to let us sit side by side at our table.

My husband and I went to Sotto Sotto to have a fancy date, and we were not disappointed! Chill atmosphere, excellent food, and our waiter Grant treated us so well! This place is definitely on our list of restaurants to revisit! The friendliness, professionalism, and warmth started the moment we stepped through the curtains into the dining area and didn’t end until we left the table. Everyone who interacted with us was very pleasant, but Grant took care of us 99% of the time. As if the food wasn’t awesome(and I’ll get to that in a bit), Grant is one of the biggest reasons this is a 5-star review. Impeccable service, friendly advice when we asked for it, and just the most courteous, yet down to earth attitude we may have ever come across. Thanks for treating us so well! The food! We started off with the mussels as an appetizer. It was my husband’s first time trying mussels(I’ve loved them since I first had mussels years ago), and we both thoroughly enjoyed them. The complimentary bread, too, was great.(Grant asked if we wanted more bread to eat with the leftover mussel broth. How thoughtful!) I had the marscarpone and artichoke tortellini for my entrée(Tortelloni ai Carciofi). Even though I was already feeling full from all the mussels and bread I’d eaten, I was able to eat every bite! I didn’t want any to go to waste; it was very good. Flavorful, well balanced, and delicious. I was surprised that I could eat every bite, because usually dishes with cheese feel heavy, but it was light enough. Maybe that’s why they bring out just 8 tortellini on a plate. Basically, it was absolutely perfect for me and left me very happy and satisfied. My husband had the Pappardelle al Sugo d’ Antara(pappardelle pasta with braised duck ragu). He enjoyed his dish, which was a bit larger than mine, and was able to bring leftovers home. Even though we were almost full, we decided to spring for dessert, especially after hearing the gelato options that were available! We decided on a sampling of three flavors.(You can get three for $ 10.) Belgian chocolate, cheesecake with graham cracker and strawberry topping, and vanilla wafer with cooked banana topping. Okay. Never had I ever shh’d someone while taking a bite of something before, but that’s exactly what happened when I tasted the cheesecake gelato! Absolute heaven! The spitting image of cheesecake in gelato form. The vanilla wafer gelato tasted just like banana pudding, and the Belgian chocolate was a great rich dark chocolate with the balanced bitterness. Amazing and definitely worth the stuffed stomach feeling we had when we left. Absolutely loved our experience, really appreciated the complimentary valet parking, can’t recommend Grant highly enough, and looking forward to trying more from the menu! Thanks for a great time!

You know how Charlie Brown always hopes that Lucy won’t pull away the football? That’s me and Sotto Sotto. I had miserable meal there four years ago. The restaurant was overwhelmed by serving our table of six. My pasta was both cold and dried out. So a when a friend suggested Sotto Sotto, I was a bit skeptical but went along. In my 2010 review I said that I might go back to Sotto Sotto if I lived in Atlanta. Well, now I do. We had reservations for 9:00 pm. I left at 10:00 when we still hadn’t been seated. My friends stuck it out, finally got seated and the manger comped their meal. Good for them. But I just flat out consider the whole thing abusive. The point of reservation is that you have a table reserved. 15 minutes leeway if the people ahead of you are dawdlers. But an hour? No way.
