Jewel is a terrible bartender. She overcharged me and just laughed it off while not fixing my tab. The gumbo was ok but I had send it back because it initially didn’t have any sausage even though the menu explicitly states it.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice which is why I was so disappointed with my visit. The staff was highly unorganized. We had a reservation, but they didn’t honor it on time. Then, they tried to split up our party. The greeter didn’t know where the men’s bathroom was and the staff members kept contradicting each other. Add to that the fact that menu was uninspiring. The actual menu was dirty and worn out. The selection wasn’t great. I ended up having the Salmon and it was just ok. I would not return. It’s not worth it.

Only got 3 stars because of the décor & food… THESERVICE… much to be desired. Our reservation for a Sunday Brunch for(8) was set for days. So when another large party reserves a specific spot, why would you the place my group in THAT spot. So we get acquainted with(what should be) our server, we now have to move. To where… the«private dining area». Sounds special, right? **shakes head** There were(3) beautiful booths facing the outside… but didn’t accommodate the size of our party as a whole. While the 1 manager tried to convince us that this is the area they serve large parties such as ours, I begin to wonder: «how?» Answer: 2 – 3 fold out banquet/card tables+chaos with banquet chair covers. So much for ambiance. To compensate for the move we’re offered a bottle of mimosa on the house(btw-does not serve a party of 8). Our new server brings water glasses… cool since we ordered waters to start, right? He begins to pour champagne in these glasses. **pauses & side-eyes all around** At least our, well what should have been, our server comes to check on us and proceeds to «…not make any excuses…» for the now, epic faux pas, explains that the night crew left a mess for the morning service to recover from & set up for the brunch service. When mentioning the beverage service, we get plastic-NYE-attach the base-champagne ‘er, glasses. One food was served, we had no silverware, no salt & pepper, no syrup, no butter. When mentioning this, we received all of this(- the butter) in plastic ramekins. **le-sigh** All said and done, after the huge expression of dissatisfaction, we were given 20% off our final bill by the 2nd manager(which we had no split check option & offered no more than 3 forms of payment)…ALL unacceptable. Wish I had something pleasant to say… well there was the GORGEOUS Harlem Renaissance Era décor, that I absolutely love… there’s that. I have hopes that they will improve(i.e.: train their inexperienced staff) the service because this a great place with great food and it would be a tragic waste if they don’t. Being located directly across from the W Hotel & Twelve Apartments, I guarantee you, those patrons will appreciate a better experience than the one we had.

The hostess was really nice. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm but arrived way earlier. She still sat us at a table and the waitress(diamondnique) arrived pretty quickly. She explained the menu to us and took our drink orders. We then ordered a stater, main, and dessert. We had fried shrimp, burger, fries, shrimp and grits, sweet potato pie, and cheesecake. Everything was really good. Service was great. I would have given it a 5 star but I ordered sweet potato fries and never got them. Other then that I would definitely recommend this place.

I had a great time! My waiter Andrew was so nice, we enjoyed him. The bar tender CeeCee is everything! Came to our table to make sure I had a wine that I enjoyed! I really appreciated that! T.I., CeeCee and Andrew deserves a raise for their hard work and Southern Hospitality! PS I got the ribs, they were so tender falling off the bone! The Collared Green were«alright». The MacN cheese was good!

Went for the 1st time about a month ago not having high expectations. Upon arrival, I noticed that the décor is very nice. We were immediately seated(it was on a Thursday comedy night) near the stage. I ordered the shrimp and grits, along with the chicken and waffles(I’m a foodie). The food was EXCELLENT! I have been wanting to return just for that ever since. The only thing that knocked off a star was the fact that the table we made a reservation for had a limit for when we would have to either leave it, or make another reservation for(mind you it wasn’t really busy that night) and bathrooms. I do believe they could do better in that area. I would also warn some that the food is a bit pricey, but well worth it. The comedy show was entertaining. My crew definitely enjoyed it more than most(wasn’t sure why lol). I do recommend this restaurant. It’s a great place to go for a date, or just hang out with friends.

Scales 925 has great music after 10pm on the weekend when a DJ comes in. However even with reservations the wait time is long, hostesses are unprofessional, the food took almost 2 hrs to come out and was COLD. Food was not worth the wait and some was burnt. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless your going just for drinks and music.

The reason for 2 stars: my food was really good and our servers were good, polite and attentive. When I walked into Scales 925, I was amazed by the renovations. The place is beautiful and there is plenty of space and seating while you wait to be seated, major plus! I went for a birthday dinner and our party of 8 had reservations for 8:30 pm last night(Saturday night). We got there a little early to make sure we gotta seated at 8:30 with no problems. Needless to say, that didn’t happen. We were seated about 9:15 after arguing, yes arguing, with the manager. I will spare the details tho. We are escorted to our seats, which is in an area called«The Study» and I don’t think seating should be up there. It’s more of a bar lounge feel and we were away from the main dining area, which I didn’t like but ok. Table and chairs were plastic like cookout table and chairs. Smh. Not upscale at all! Service was good and my food was amazing. I had the shrimp and grits. They are the best, most expensive shrimp and grits I’ve ever had! I will definitely get them again if I ever go back. I had two Avion margaritas, which also was really good. Here’s where they lost another star. Went to use the restroom before leaving and the toilet paper is on the floor. Not inside if the toilet paper holder but in the floor in every stall. That is disgusting and unsanitary! There is plenty of parking options around. Valet parking, metered parking around building, parking garage attached to building and plenty of lots near the restaurant. Overall, the menu(prices) just do not match the overall upscale vibe the restaurant gives off.

I could not wait to try Scales due to all of the bad/mediocre reviews. I also did not have the best experience when trying to book reservations for a partya few months ago, I had to continue calling for a few days and finally got someone but decided not to book there. Anywho, I went last night for dinner and really enjoyed it. The wings, mac & cheese and greens I had were great! Our service was also great ! They were on an hour wait which was to be expected and we never got the text they supposedly sent to let us know our table was ready, so it’s a very good idea to check in with them after the time frame they give you as they suggest. But the bartenders, waitstaff and hostess were all nice, no negative experience for us. Both of my cocktails were really good also, The Chanel 9& Sex in the City. The Chanel 9 was the best out of the 2. I will definitely be returning!

I would give Scales 9255 stars for ambience alone, but as far as over all experience it barely deserved 3 stars. We dined on a Friday night and did not make reservations but the folks who did make reservations waited almost as long as my friend and I for a table. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait but since they ran out of menus(yes ran out of menus) it was more like a hour wait. Amongst the 10 people who seem to all work at the hostess desk at least 5 were very polite the rest just took up space and confused the rest of them. Once we were seated our waitress was awesome. The young lady who waited on our table gave excellent service and had a bubbly personality which made up for the long wait for menus. We were told the lobster and Grits was a favorite of the owner and opted to get that entrée. The drinks and food came out fast which is a huge plus when you are hungry. The lobster and Grits was ok I expected better flavors. The presentation of my food was nice it was a large portion of very thick grits corn and what tasted like gravy under 2 fried lobster tails. Lastly, I ordered the banana pudding which was also mediocre. If I ever come back to this restaurant it will probably be to sit at the bar for drinks and appetizers.

I would give this place negative star, but that’s not an option. Let me first start by saying this: I get that this is a celebrity sponsored restaurant/bar and that the«said» celebrity(in this case T.I.) probably has nothing to do with he day to day operations nor the management of the joint — so this review is in no way a reflection of him as an artist; in other words, Keep Buying TI music. Sadly, this establishment is run by mostly young African American people and the care/customer service is reflective of today’s «all about me» youth culture. I was highly disappointed in this place after hearing so much hype about it. Like most predominately AA clubs/bars/restaurants, there is what is commonly referred to as the ‘black tax’, meaning — you’re out almost $ 100 before you even walk in the place and purchase anything on a menu. For example: $ 20 to valet park(no validation) $ 20 cover after 11p $ 20 dress code DOWNGRADE — meaning — sneakers, sweatsuits, Tims, hats, or anything else the bouncer deems not upscale dress. $ 12 – 15 for premium, non-well liquor. So, what is the real message that 925 is trying to send — We want an upscale clientele with an option to downgrade??? Talk about bi-polar. I went to the bar to order a drink(trying to give the place a chance), the waitress stood at the bar updating her FaceBook while myself and about 4 other customers waited for her to turn around. I did my best to get her attention respectfully, which in turn was met with attitude as if I was bothering her. wayminent: aren’t you at work? The drinks were the typical over-iced, 2 oz. pour with the rest mixer — I didn’t expect anything less but for $ 12 for a Bacardi & Coke, I was left feeling like what was the point.(Tip: Pre-Game or have your lady sneak in the airplane sized bottles of spirits) We chose to go to the balcony section featuring the Hookah(my guests wanted that) and what did I discover: YEP the infamous Reserved VIP area… translation: pay to sit under the awning and be seen(that’s the other $ 40 part of the ‘black tax’). Being a non-baller, I sat on the peripheral of the VIP area and jammed to the sounds of — wait, there was no music on the balcony!!! WTF? The entertainment was the TV over the bar. WE decided we had enough so we proceeded to the downstairs areas. The elevator only fits about six, FYI and only goes two floors down. Floor 3 was bar/private party seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves. Floor 2 much of the same, but I think that this was actually the restaurant part. Couldn’t tell because the way the walkway/bar area/make shift dance floor was set up, left me confused. Anyway, the walkway was lined with more«baller seats» that you had to pre-pay for. After one more drink and being stalked by the photographer, I was ready to go(rhet-ta-go) The positive take-away from this place was the DJ — Frank Ski… wayminent, doesn’t he have a club on Peachtree Street??? Yup, that’s right its closed now… the same fate this venue will soon face.

Came here for a special event, so my review and experience may differ from a normal dining experience. Our party was held in one of the back rooms with a few booths and it’s own bar station. The bartender seemed inexperienced and struggled getting our drinks prepared. For my entrée, I chose the lamb — it was a little too rare in my opinion, but overall it tasted fine. My husband tried the deep fried lobster and the mac and cheese. The lobster looked great, but small in size. The mac and cheese lacked in the cheese department and tasted more like macaroni with a drizzle of melted cheese. The most memorable part of the meal was the dessert, we were able to try a couple of their more popular options: peach cobbler and cheesecake. The cobbler was very good — perfect ratio of filling and crust! The cheesecake was very dense and sweet, but it comes in a small thin piece which I thought was the perfect serving portion. The restaurant itself is pretty large in size. There’s a general seating area with a few fancy booths, some extra seating along the hallway on the second floor, at least one private room for parties, a cigar room/floor(when we went it was still under construction), AND a small rooftop lounge/bar. Overall, the space is great and has lots of potential. The food was average and in some aspects, lacked in flavor and creativity. This place claims to be up-scale, but that isn’t reflected in what they are serving. It’s a relatively new restaurant, so hopefully they’ll be able to work on improving their menu items. In my opinion, it’s a good place to grab desserts, a few drinks, and hookah. Who knows, maybe you’ll even spot a few local celebrities ;)

Wow! I have to give it to Scales. They won me over with visit number one. I went with incredibly low expectations. I was waiting, looking, for ANYTHING to be wrong. However, my date and I arrived, and were greeted(genuinely) by a very nice host and hostess. Our server, Derrick, was the BEST! Not only did he know the menu, and was able to explain the dishes, and make recommendations, he was a natural conversationalist, as well. I had the Shrimp and Waffle. I’ve only recently begun eating shrimp. Well, these were the plumpest, most well seasoned, shrimp I think I’ve had thus far. Food presentation was exceptional– perfect garnishings. The date had the shrimp and grits, but found the grits not to be to her liking. Mind you, she doesn’t like grits anyway, so I’m not sure what made her think this would be a good idea. Anyway, I loved the grits, and actually ordered a side. Now, to discuss the lost star. All of our food didn’t come out at the same time. Not only did the date have her food, and I was still waiting, when mine came, the eggs and grits were somewhere in the East Wing, and nowhere near our table. By the time they came, the waffle was cold. The chef made me new eggs, and sent out a plate full of those delicious shrimp!!! The date sent her dish back and got what I had, and enjoyed it. The barteneder(ess) made me a «Hurricane» that wasn’t on the menu. Well. It only took one. Yes! I love a bar that does not skimp on the alcohol. My companion had some sort of apple concoction that was quite tasty, as well. We enjoyed the ambience, MUSIC, and atmosphere so much that we stayed awhile, chatting and talking. We decided to have a couple of Bailey’s& Coffee. Perfect. So, we had two more. We did have one celebrity sighting– we sat right across from JazzyPhae. Odd, it wasn’t cold out at all, but Mr. Phae was in his obligatory fur. Go figure. It’s not a cheap place, but it’s not cost prohibitive either. Go prepared. For the parking/valet situation, see my tip(in the tip section) that I left. As we were sipping our coffee, we began to smell this delicious aroma of beef. Come to find out, it was some sort of beef dish on the dinner menu. I intend to go back for dinner to find out. So, Scales– you surprised me. Thank you! Go see for yourself.

So I finally made it to the newest hot spot in ATL. I went to the restaurant around 9:30pm. They do have a valet in the parking garage to the immediate left of the restaurant. Valet was extremely slow when I went and the line got long quickly. It was $ 20, which is high because most restaurants usually have much lower valet fees, even in that area, so maybe they have a different deal with that parking garage or company. The restaurant was really packed so you know its the newest spot. It was gorgeous inside and has a nice feel but it was quite loud. Everyone looked pretty nice so they were what I call casual cute attire all the way to dressy attire. I recommend making reservations at least a day in advance. I made mine the day of, so my reservation was not until 11pm. The hostesses were nice and checked people in quickly and she directed me to the two bars. One on the main level and another on the rooftop. I opted for the rooftop. Note: There was a live drummer and saxophonist. The DJ was already spinning and they actually play with the DJ. Nice touch! A++ Rooftop is spacious(furniture is a little unnatractive. Those lime green cushions just didn’t go with the beauty of the rest of the place.) I ordered a Texas Margarita with Patron and it was well made. No fresh ingredients but still it was good. The price was $ 12.96. I hung out up there for a while and met great people. The rooftop has heated lamps. I noticed hookah was available. Around 11 we went to claim our table. Important Notes: the drummer and saxophonist were still playing with the DJ and sounded great. The DJ switched out about this time as well because now the restaurant switches from restaurant to a condensed menu. They also start charging at this time because its def more of a lounge feel. Also not sure if there was a designated dance floor but people were dancing at their tables and having a great time. I ordered wings and Mac & Cheese. My friends got sliders and fries. The wings were cooked well but overall the food was just okay. Mac and Cheese had that fake cheese flavor. It was all priced high and I’m sure they have a high overhead at this location so that’s cool. Plus the ambience. It’s a great spot. My thing is this… don’t sell Dugan’s food and over charge for it. Sell amazing food and charge amazing food prices. I just don’t like conflicting restaurants. They need to step up the menu so the place isn’t a dive bar pretending to be a nice restaurant/lounge. Also, the server kept messing everyone’s orders up. Our table and other tables. From my experience in that industry they need to be writing orders down by table number and table seat. Yea it was loud but write it down. repeat the order back to confirm. Boom! Done! Also, there seemed to be only one register for them to place orders at… they are in need of another. Our server was very nice and level headed so that made it all easier to deal with. All in all… its a nice place. Great for ladies night, dinner parties, celebrations, good music, good vibes. Okay date spot but not for a first date! So I would have given this place 3 stars because the valet issues, food, and drinks could be made with more quality but I’m giving 4 because the staff was nice and the vibes were awesome! I suggest going until midnight and then going to a late night spot to party and finish off the night.

Beautiful restaurant, the ambiance was great for a Sunday morning brunch with my girlfriends. We were a party of 12 or so, and we had some people come join us a little late. Staff didn’t seem bothered by it and gladly sat them at a neighboring table. Our service overall was great considering there were so many in our party. Until we got to the bill there was really no problem. Food was ok. Not the best brunch I’ve had. Fried chicken was the best part. Waffles were mediocre. Couldn’t taste the sweet potato. Nothing stood out as something I would come back for. THECHECK Large party checks are not split. There was no explanation. He stood by and watched us struggle to figure out who had what for a part of 12+ people. Nothing was in order by seat. Not fun and kinda ruined the vibe. Probably would have been helpful to at least divide it in half. Would have been even better if he’d done it for us. Idk *shrugs* Maybe I will come back for dinner. Very small chance.

Ok so where do I start. I walk in and I thought the décor and the space was beautiful. Very classy and upscale. The night I went they had a comedian performing. The staff was very friendly however our waiter was a bit slow… Not in terms of time, but in terms of brain power. My friend asked for a cup of boiling water with lemon and he brought it out in a glass with a straw, not a coffee cup. I also asked how the food was«plated» and his response was«It comes on a plate». I placed my order. When he walked by I asked him to confirm what I ordered,. Yep it was a totally different order. lol. Our bill came to $ 76. We gave him 2 credit cards and asked him to split it evenly between the two cards. He put $ 40 on one and $ 36 on the other and told us the math was easier to do it that way.(SMH) There were a handful of other incidents but even talking about him is making my head hurt so lets get to the rest of the review. By the way, he was very very nice and polite and professional. The food… Delicious. We started with the wings. They had just the right amount of crisp and sauce on them. Not to bland or not too spicy. I ordered the short rib with mac and cheese and collards. The rib was moist. It said it came with BBQ sauce, but it definitely wasn’t BBQ but it was delicious. My friend had the spare ribs and said the sauce was waay too sweet. My mac and cheese tasted like someones auntie made it for Thanksgiving. It was the real deal. Baked mac and cheese made without the artificial cheese sauce. It was amazing. The poor greens… not so much. I called them hypertension greens because they were so salty and I love salt but this saddened my palate. I substituted for the green beans which was smothered in garlic and red onions so heavily it made my eyes water. I just left them on the table and had to cover them up. I wanted to try a dessert but no way was I going to pay $ 9 for a piece of red velvet cake. No ma’m. Overall the food was great, the atmosphere was lovely, service was friendlly, but the food was quite overpriced but I do understand that the overhead is high. I highly recommend this place. It seems to be the new it spot for the trendy middle and upper class hip hop lovers supporting owner TI.

So many bad reviews on service but my server was great! Very attentive and helpful. On Unilocal it says it’s open from 11 to 3 am but we came around 2:40pm and we were informed that they will be closing soon at 3 to get ready for the dinner menu so we had to order soon. I ordered, Cucumber smash cocktail– I wanted to get something refreshing not too sweet and this hit the spot Mac and cheese– creamy and cheesy, a decent size portion for two. We had left overs. Shrimp gumbo– good, Cajun creole taste. Rich with shredded chicken and big olé shrimps. Fried chicken wings with collard greens– crispy, pretty basic chicken. Would I be wrong to compare it to a regular fried chicken fast food spot? Shrimp po boy and fries– this was my favorite, the shrimp was a little big to fit in the sandwich but I don’t think that’s a problem for some people. I liked how the diced tomatoes and pickles complemented the sandwich. The fries were a little soggy. Overall I had a good experience but the food is nothing to go and rave about. I think the décor of the place is upscale with the gold velvet high buttoned booths. It just doesn’t match the food. I was expecting a little bit more. If this food was served in a more casual dining place, probably a barbecue like joint it would attract more customers and better reviews.

Oh how I hoped for a better experience. Hopefully after they work out the kinks I can update. So here goes: My friend made a reservation. She received an email confirmation and a call the day of, to confirm. When we arrived, she was told there was no reservation. Our reservation was for 9:30, we were seated at 9:54. I’m not sure if the delay was due to the system glitch or the fact the majority of our party didn’t arrive until then. We all ordered our food and drinks and then it started to go downhill. The servers kept coming back with what they ran out of; strawberries for the strawberry lemonade, lemons for the water and collard greens. It became a joke that we better eat what was in front of us before it ran out right before our eyes LOL. The food was delicious!!! I had the short ribs and they were perfect. The mac-n-cheese was tasty. The green beans were nice and firm.(I can’t help but laugh but as I was writing this our server told me they ran out of to-go containers. To which I replied«can I get some foil because I’m taking my leftovers even if I have to take these dishes.» We all laughed and she brought out the containers LOL). My friends all enjoyed their meals(shrimp & grits, salmon and some salads). We only tried 2 desserts, the banana pudding and sweet potato bites. Both were VERY good! Through it all, the servers were very nice and responsive. I plan to come back in a couple of months to see if the kinks have been ironed out. FYI, they don’t split checks for parties over 6. We came on a Friday evening and valet was $ 20 but self-parking was $ 5.
