It’s kind of a dubious honor to be the Duchess of an Urgent Care, but in this case I really don’t mind. I’ve been seeing Dr. Drogono, who runs the clinic, since moving to the area last summer. My first visit was for a routine physical, and I’ve had to see her a couple of times for that virus that plagued Georgia in December and more recently for an allergic reaction. Both times, I’ve been very happy with this office on multiple levels. Convenience — Not only is the practice close to my home, but the fact that it’s an urgent care makes it easy for me to see my PCP in the evenings or on weekends.(The drawback is that if you need diagnostics like x-Rays, you have to go off-site.) Little to no wait time — I decided to go by the office tonight on the way home from work to take care of my skin freak out. I did not have an appointment. I waited in a chair for approximately one minute before being called to an exam room, and was talking wit the doctor within five minutes of arrival. Total time from arrival to checkout? About fifteen minutes, tops — and the majority of that time was spent *with* my doctor. Bedside Manner — We’ve all experienced doctors who move you in and out as quickly as possible and pay little to no attention to what their patients have to say. Dr. Drogono is not one of those doctors. She is genuinely interested in her patients and could not be any more willing to hear your thoughts and input on your own body and health. Overall, the place is a gem and I am glad I found it!
