I asked a friend, who happens to be a physical therapist, for a referral to a doctor that could take a look at my bum knee. She sent me to Evander Fogle at Resurgens.
About the worst thing i can say about him is that he’s pretty soft spoken. If you’re looking for jokes or a standup routine, keep walking. Otherwise, he was great. VERY thorough, definitely takes time to explain things, and VERY conservative. If you’re looking for a quick surgery, he may not be your guy either. When we did get to the point of talking about surgery as a possibility, he gave me every option, pros, cons and dangers.
The surgery itself (torn meniscus flap) was a cinch. The surgery center is top notch. The nursing staff was compassionate and pleasant. Resurgens may be big but I never felt like a number on surgery day. My outcome was fantastic. A couple of days after the surgery– I got a call and Dr. Fogle was at the other end asking how I was feeling.
Let’s be honest: Resurgens is a business. Part of that feels oodgy but in truth, it just means they run like a well-​oiled machine. I highly recommend Dr. Fogle. In fact, I put my money where my mouth is– a friend is scheduled to meet with him soon.

I had surgery back in December 2014 and the experience was fine until after I came out of surgery. While I was in the recovery area, a nurse came up to me while I was still very groggy and still sleep from the anesthesia, she kept yelling my name. I could clearly hear her but couldn’t really respond because of my condition. She continued to yell my name and sounded so harassing to the point to where my mother had to tell her to stop yelling at me. She continued to rush me to wake up and kept telling me I had to leave. She forced me to drink a soda and rushed me in a wheelchair and wheeled me out of the facility. She shoved me in the back seat of my car and didn’t put the seatbelt on me. I was so disappointed, I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone it reminded me of a meat manufacturing plant.

I broke my femur. Since I was a paraplegic the Dr. offered amputation as one option of four. The other options were: do nothing, cast/​brace or surgery. Just because I use a wheelchair doesn’t mean cutting off my limb is a reasonable option for an uncomplicated fracture. Amputation would affect sitting posture, balance along with a whole host of new problems with transferring and ADL. I ruled out amputation and «do nothing» and got a brace. At a follow up visit I presented his staff with a form I needed signed by a doctor and notarized in order to qualify for DeKalb County back door garbage collection. They acted like I wanted to get an alien sighting notarized. As if it was the weirdest request they had ever seen. I thought it was very unprofessional. Ultimately the doctor did sign the form. The front desk was flabbergasted by the request for a notary stamp. She didn’t know who to call to accomplish this task and was genuinely stumped. I would think an orthopaedic office should be familiar with patients needing forms signed and notarized, but not this office staff. Due to my experience with the physician, his staff and the front desk, I will not refer anyone to Resurgens or Dr. Evander Fogle’s office ever.

Arrived at 11:10am on Nov 4, 2014 for an 11:15am appt with Dr Drew Miller. Still waiting at 12:20pm, I informed Dr Miller that I could no longer wait and left the building.

Dr. Bob Titelman and staff were great! I am a gynecological surgeon and had a bicycling accident myself. I broke my clavicle in 4 parts and thought I would be out of work for a long time. Dr. Titelman was recommended to me by some of my colleagues for this type of problem. He reviewed my xrays and thought I would heal up much quicker from having an outpatient surgery. He performed it the following day and I could not be happier. My healing was very fast, my incision looks great – very cosmetic, and he and his staff were very kind and encouraging. I would recommend this whole group and Dr. Titelman to anyone. Thanks!

We were looking for an ortho doctor to take a look at my 7 year old daughter’s hand. She has a cyst on her wrist. Dr. Jason Schneider was great. We did have to wait a little longer than we planned, but all told we were in and out, with xrays in about an hour. The xray staff were wonderful, and so good with my daughter. Dr. Schneider was super, and I liked that he took a conservative approach. I’ve known some surgeons that just really want to push you into surgery immediately, but he was completely honest in saying that he didn’t think it was necessary. Being new to the area, I was nervous to start doctor shopping, but I was very pleased with this visit. I would definitely visit this practice again if I had any other orthopedic needs.

This is quite the conglomerate of doctors, but they have something for all your orthopedic needs.
Knees and shoulders (joint) — Byron Rosenstein is the man to see. He has kept me and my crappy knees from knee replacement for over 20 years. That’s awesome. Physical therapy, exercises, cortisone injections, and Euflexxa. He listens, and discusses all options. Great bedside manner and an overall great doctor to have on your side.
Neck and Spine (non-​surgical) — Anita Cone-​Sullivan is a great doctor. She handles the non-​surgical side of the neck and spine, which is where I want to be. I have bad genes and had injuries and she has done an excellent job taking care of me with physical therapy and injections and keeping me from having to move onto a surgical doctor. I would prefer to stick with the non-​surgery route as long as possible. Also, she is great at listening, discussing all options, and helping you to make informed decisions.
Hand — Jason Schneider — He knows his stuff and won’t steer you wrong. I will say that his bedside manner leaves a bit to be desired, however when dealing with your hands, you don’t want him messing around. I am one who puts her faith in her doctors and wants to hear all the options and when given the choice of direction, asks the doctor to make the right choice. They have the years of education and they know best.
These guys know what they are doing — they take great care of you and even though it is a very large practice, they have a lot of offices/​locations and a lot of doctors. This just means there is more opportunity to get the care you need, when you need it.

Dr Miller is the best that you can find for shoulder care. He is concerned and compassionate. I am a surgeon and a golfer and would be lost without shoulders that function properly. Despite having a number of problems over the years with my shoulders, he has diagnosed me quickly and managed to help me avoid surgery. Thanks for being there for me and I would not trust my shoulders to any other group. They will work you in if you are having an emergency and you then may have to wait a little, but it does not matter since you know you are seeing the best. Dr J
