So went here first on Saturday for dinner. Got seated and realized they above a have hall where some kinda party was going on. The ambience was very dull and dingy. The ceiling looked unfinished and weird. The girl who sat us didn’t look like a friendly person. They just don’t smile here for some reason. May be its a cultural thing. Our server came and took our order. We ordered doro wat, vegetable combo plate and Awaze tibs. The food came pretty quickly. I loved my doro wat. Although it’s greasy it’s tasty. Vegetable combo was also good. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. I will definitely go back.

I love this place! I went for lunch on a slow Saturday evening and our server was so sweet. The food was great and have lots of options. Try the Ethiopian coffee, they roast the beans table side. Lots of vegan options

I have been here several times over the last few years and every time I go it seems to get worse and worse. This past visit was with several friends and we didn’t pick the spot. The service has always sucked so badly but this last time it dipped even lower than usual. Very slow and completely unconcerned with having things done right. The tej was terrible because it was really warm, it should and has always been chilled at every place I have had it. The orders were mixed up, my husband’s kitfo was way overcooked and extremely salty, but no one ever came by to check on it. The water was brought out for half the table and 20+ minutes later they finally got around to bringing some to the rest of us. The first glasses had ice, the rest, no ice and not very cold. Boxes were apparently a problem and checks came out without asking if we needed anything else, like coffee or dessert. So checks had to be redone. Then, to top the evening we both got sick from it. We will definitely not be returning again. I recommend if anyone wants awesome Ethiopian food they visit Desta. It is like night and day between the two. Way better service, better food and a much nicer, less run down feeling atmosphere.

I would have to say that my first time here isn’t so great. However, I did order take out so the experience was the driving and getting it in a container. For those who has never tried Ethiopian food. I’ve ordered the: –Zilzil Tibs –which is a tender beef sauteed with onions and green peppers. –Vegetarian combo(Yesimer wot, Yekik alitcha, Gomen wot and Tikel gomen served with salad.) *Yesmier Wot– spicy lentils *my favorite* *Gomen Wot– Collard greens *Yekik Alitcha-Yellow Split peas *Tikel Gomen– Cabbage and Potatoes –Sambusa(spicy lentil stuffed pastry) The pastry* is more like traditional chinese egg roll texture and crunch. Not overly oily. The Zilzil could’ve been tender, it was way too overcooked and not edible. the meat wasn’t chopped up. The vegetarian combo though had good flavor. If you’re planning on coming I would suggest not to drink too much water as you’re eating the Injera, it expands quickly and leaving you feeling very full. Those who don’t know what Injera is, its a type of flatbread with a rubber feel and consistency. Definitely, don’t order to go, the injera gets super soggy. They just pile it all on top of the food vs in its separate to go container. think it would’ve been less messy. I would say Desta is still my favorite and Madina’s Restaurant(in Stone MTN)

Me and my husband went for lunch. I ordered veggie platter which had mixed lentils and veggies on Ethiopian bread! Food was greasy and was not not that fresh. We both had stomach upset for the whole evening! Taste wise food was good! But I didn’t like quality!

The food was very good and flavorful. We decided to order the platter for 4 so we could get a sampling of multiple dishes. was a great choice. Even the fruit and chocolate cake were both very moist and tasty. Not giving a full 5 because the wait staff was not friendly(and the 4 of us are a fun group) and they were rather forgetful. We told them it was our first Ethopian experience and didn’t seem to care or offer any insight to the dishes. The owner came by the tables and was very engaging with customers, which was a nice touch. Overall a great food experience.

We went for a birthday dinner. I love Ethiopian food and now I love this place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service was lovely and the food was delicious. If you are new to the food, this is the place to try, and if you are an old hand, you will not be disappointed. We got the veggie sampler and the meat sampler. It came on one platter. Everything was amazing. My kid who is pretty good about trying new things liked several of the dishes. The server was pleased to see her eating and asked her what her favorite was and brought more. It was my birthday and the server brought out a piece of cake with a flaming sparkler– it was fun and unexpected. There is decent beer and wine and the wine is a heavy pour– thank you! It’s a long drive from where I live– but this will be a special destination dinner for us in the future.

I’m not the type of person to have a bad experience once and never go back again, but I’ve had horrible customer service out of the multiple times I’ve gone here. The staff is always rude, especially if you are a woman. The most«attention» and friendly staff I’ve ever had when coming here is only when my friend brought her brother along with us. This is completely disrespectful since women pay the exact same amount of money as me in this establishment. Obviously, this is a sexist establishment that favor a men. If it’s a group of girls with no boys, don’t bother going here. The staff won’t care what you order. When speaking to the management about out poor customer service, they immediately assumed my girl friends and I were«giving them attitude» despite speaking to them in a kind, calm manner. The amount of sexism is immense in this establishment and not a place for women.

When you go ask for kuku, she is the best waitress and Queen of Sheba food and dining area is a lot better and more accommodating than Desta.

I love going to this restaurant. It has a very nice environment and setting. They have hooka room. They serve boon(coffee). The food is very good. It’s a bit costly but not too bad. They have live bands sometimes. The staff are very friendly and will help you with you orders,

In my opinion… the Best Ethiopian in Atlanta. There’s another place that people rave about, but for me, the taste here is just better. Really tasty. I’m a vegetarian, so the spice array matters(Ya gotta flavour veggies with more than salt and pepper, ehhh?). I always order the vegetarian platter, and the selection of goods was across the board delectable. The aforementioned spices are delightful, and the right amount of salt is there. I leave here happy. Dancing while I eat the food. Try this place out if you love Ethiopian. Try try try.

This was my first try at Ethiopian food, and I must admit I didn’t know what to expect. The restaurant is dimly lit and you can definitely smell all the spices that they use wafting over from the kitchen. I ordered the meat and veggie combo and there was so much food! The injera –which you used with your fingers to pinch the meat and veggie with — had a pleasant chew and slight tang to it. I would definitely be back to try more of their menu!

This is great Ethiopian food! Better than anything in NYC better or as good as DC. The location is unassuming and laid back, the proteins are huge, and the injera(while not as sour as I like it) is plentiful. We split the veggie sampler and it is prob enough food for 4 people.

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food. It was good. We had appetizers of something that reminded me of a samosa. It was a pastry filled with lentils. Then I had a veggie combo plate, which was filling. It was served on top of Ethiopian bread, which was cool. I forgot what each dish was, but it was a nice way to sample different items.

Food is pretty good! Didn’t really care for the injera a bit spongy and bland. Overall the dishes we had were pretty good. I would have given more stars however the customer service was lacking.

My favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Atlanta. There are a few popular spots close by but I don’t think that the food taste as good as Sheba nor is the service. You get to seat yourself anywhere in their cozy intimate dining area. The staff is friendly. My favorite dish is the Shrimp Ethiopian style it is fresh chopped up veggies in a delicious sauce with Shrimp and it comes with injera and 1 side I always get the spicy lintels. It’s customary to eat with your hands but they provide a fork and spoon anyway. The portions are fairly large and if I am able to eat all my food I leave stuffed. The honey wine is tasty if you like sweet wine it’s definitely worth a try it’s only $ 5 a glass. They have a cute lounge when you walk inside the restaurant to your right. I have been coming to Queen of Sheba for Years and I have never been disappointed.

One quiet Friday evening, I decide to go to dinner with my friend, David. I tell him that I have never tried Ethiopian food, so he recommends Queen of Sheba. We arrive, and I instantly fall in love with the atmosphere. I am not entirely familiar with Ethiopian culture, but it seems strangely similar to Indian or Nepali culture. The lights are dimmed and colored red and green, the walls and lamps are draped in woven artifacts, and the tables are decorated with Ethiopian grains encased in glass. My friend and I sit at a table, where the waitress kindly(yet misguidedly) sets a romantic atmosphere for us. I order the combination vege combo, which consists of Yemesirwot(lentils cooked in red pepper sauce), Yekik Alitcha(chick peas cooked in a sauce made of mild spices), Yegomen Wot(chopped collared greens), Tikel Gomen(cabbage, carrots, and potatoes), house salad, and injera(a sourdough-like pancake). This is one of the best plates I have ever tasted because, living in America, I find myself deficient of vegetables and spices whenever I eat outside of my home. The experience of trying these foods with a variety of spices using my hands was amazing, because I want to be exposed to a culture where eating using a fork and knife isn’t standard. Once I finish what I can of the large plate, I order tea. The tea is ordinary Lipton black tea, but the waitress mixed cinnamon into the boiling water to add a kick to the beverage. I very much appreciate the fact that this restaurant, and the culture it draws from, takes full advantage of the variety of spices that the Earth has to offer. I left this establishment highly satisfied, and I sincerely recommend Queen of Sheba to anyone who has never tried Ethiopian food!

We visited for the first time in honor of a friend’s birthday. She loves Ethiopian food, but this was her first visit too. The honey wine was potent(thumbs up), and the food was good.

Eating should always be this much fun. We simply ordered one regular combo for 49.99 for 5. Way too much food for the four of us a few weeks ago. It has Doro wot, the meat combo(yebeg wot, yebeg alitcha, minchet abish, /we skipped the tripe though) the veg combo, tibs(lean beef cubes) awaze tibs fifit(beef too) served of course with plenty of injera. The injera is bread like to pick up the foods. This combo provided great variety of beef, lamb, chicken and veggie dishes, from mild to spicy. So each had a favorite, but don’t ask which ones. I thought my son would need regular fork to eat, which they provided on request, but he got the scheme of things and dug right in too with plenty of injera. We all had fun, and will be back
