I first came here looking for an internet connection when someone broke into the Comcast enclosure in front of the house and stole our internet. Animal friendly, plenty of room to run unless it’s Saturday afternoon and there’s 50 dogs here. Sometimes a fight breaks out but most of the time the offender is shamed into leaving. Coffee, tea, cocktails, beer and some tasty muffins and samiches are the menu fare. Visitors with dogs are encouraged to at least buy a drink while you’re waiting for Lassie to run off some steam. We’ve meet some great friends here. Relax under the huge oak tree and dodge the acorns in the fall, or sit on the outdoor porch if your pooch allows you some freedom. Can get quite messy after a downpour, so you may want to leave the puppy at home.

(This is my 100th Unilocal review, by the way!) I was so glad to find Parkgrounds! I’ve been twice with my dog, and I plan to keep coming back. It’s a great option for a dog park, because dog park + coffee = awesome. I’ve come only on Mondays during the day, and there’s always been enough parking on the street. On the dog park side of things: I noticed that there are a few regulars who come to the park with their dogs, but I did not notice any pack mentality between the dogs. Everyone kept a good eye on their dogs and would intervene if needed. Everyone was very understanding and helpful with the other dogs and notified one another of any problems or concerns. One lady noticed a scratch on a dog that wasn’t hers and found the dog’s owner to tell him. I’ve seen 3 – 12 dogs there at a time. There are benches and tables and chairs out in the dog park, too, which is nice for the owners. There are trash cans and poop bags for everyone to use, and there’s a spigot and two large bowls for water for the dogs. I’ve refilled them myself before, because with all the dogs around, the water can get dirty. The ground in the dog park is a lot of dirt, and now that it’s fall, there are a lot of leaves. Be aware that your dog will likely get dirty, so being a clean up towel or something for your dog to sit on on the way home if you need to. My dog has short hair, and I haven’t had a problem, but I’ve seen vey hairy and fluffy dogs get covered in leaves and some mud. The coffee shop side of things: There’s an outdoor porch separated from the dog park by wooden gates where you can be out in the elements but still away from the dogs. Inside the coffee shop building itself, it’s all pretty standard as far as a coffee shop goes. I’ve had friendly interactions with ¾ of the staff I’ve been in touch with. I’m no coffee connoisseur, and I’ve enjoyed the café au lates I’ve had and the challah French toast. There are tables, a bar, and chairs to sit at. There are books to read. There is booze to drink. I think the booze and the dog park help Parkgrounds stand out among the other coffee shops around town. Being a dog owner, I come for the dog park, and I’d recommend anyone else to do the same. I noticed one reviewer mention the dog poop at the park being so close to your food. Dog people probably won’t mind, honestly; that’s how my own apartment is every once in a while. If the animals offend you, stay inside the building. In Korean dog cafes, the dogs and humans and café are all in one room ~together~ which I really enjoyed, so I definitely have no qualms with dogs nearby, and I doubt most dog people would, either.

We were coming from Oxford, Ms going back home to Charleston, Sc. We needed a place to eat but of course it had to be pet friendly. When we found this place, it was the best spot ever. We needed to stretch out legs but this place allowed our dog to stretch hers too! We liked that there were tables to sit at in the middle of the park as well as on a patio. Cute indoor area with a couch. When making trips through Atlanta, we will definitely be stopping here!

My experience here was not good. There were two male dogs in the park that were not fixed and would not stop harassing(latching on and humping) my puppy. The sign outside states clearly that all dogs must be fixed. I went inside to tell the barista what was occurring and she asked me if I was able to locate the owners of the harassing dogs. It appeared they were not on the premises. Is okay to just drop off your dog and leave? I guess the idea is great, but I was bullied off the property.

I don’t know where I would be without this place! My dog and I are here several times a week, and we love it. Bagel sandwiches are to die for. The coffee is consistently fresh and yummy. The beer selection is wonderful, and there’s always something new to try. The staff is amazing, especially Sierra, Mary, and Patton. They’re all wonderful and it always makes my day to see their faces. Love, love, love PG. there is nothing better than having a snack or some coffee and hanging with cute pups. Never change a thing about it.

I wish there were more places that we animal friendly. My friend found this place on Unilocal and he said we should try it out. We both have dogs and we wanted to take them with us on our little coffee date. This place was perfect. It was reasonably priced and they also have food here if you get hungry. They have a little dog park in the back with a few seats so that you can enjoy your drink and also be outside with your dogs loose. They enjoyed playing with other dogs that were brought there. We sat in the seats that were outside and enjoyed our teas. Parking was limited and there were not much around the area but the place has so much potential!

I love the idea of having a dog park hooked up to a coffee shop so I had to bring my puppy girl! However this place was not very exciting. The espresso was meh. Not much taste. The service was good. The young lady at the bar was really nice and helpful. The dog park part needs work. It’s a lot of dirt and broken tables. There is A LOT of dog crap everywhere. I know the rule is to pick up your dogs poop but people aren’t(which is crappy. Get it???).

ParkGrounds is a really cool concept. If you have a furkid, this is a great shaded place to have them run around while you sip on some coffee. Especially during the summer heat, the dog area kind of has a smell of pee. The dog area in general is a little dingy. But if you can get over all of that, it’s a large unleashed space for your pup. The food leaves a lot to be desired. I had the hashbrown bowl on my last visit. It was nothing special. Overall, I like ParkGrounds, but I would stick just to the coffee and dog park aspect.

I’m seriously in love with this place. Coffee and my dog can play? I just don’t know how much better it can get. Oh and the breakfast menu? I’ll take one of each! Always see friendly faces too!

Why aren’t there more places like this? It’s the perfect place to kill two birds with one stone: start a leisurely day with some delicious coffee and reading while also exercising the dog. My wife and I make the 30 minute trek here regularly which should give you an indication of how much we like it if the 5-star rating doesn’t. Guests have the option of sitting inside, on the outdoor patio, or in the shady park among the dogs. We usually sit in the dog park and sip coffee with the dog corral providing plenty of entertainment if we forget to bring a book, etc. The food and coffee: No frills, but executed very well. Ultimately, the reason to come here is the mash-up of two great things: coffee and dogs.

This is a great place to go if you want to let your dog run around while enjoying some«me time». There are two entrances. No dogs are allowed inside or at the porch. You enter through the gate if you bring your pet. I enjoyed a chai latte and it was just okay. Nothing special. They do have wifi but it wasn’t very good outside. My dog did have a good time mingling. But be sure to always keep an eye. When I was there, two dogs got into a big fight, so you always want to be attentive. I’d definitely come back to check out their food.

I love the concept of this place and in fact it is a unique place to visit in Atlanta as one of the few places you can bring your dog and do some work while drinking a coffee. My main issue with this place is the food. I’ve ordered food a few times and it’s been disappointing most of the time. I had the breakfast burrito last time, a menu item I typically like, but this one just lacked flavor and tasted bland. It’s also not cheap. They had a coffee that was ok before, changed to new a one that is also just ok, but not great. I’ve tried several of the hot rotating regular cups as well as the iced americano which I liked a little more. The seating is good as you have a variety of places both indoor and outdoor to choose. The outdoor Wifi was not working the last time I went but usually hasn’t been an issue. The other improvement I’d suggest is the customer service. It doesn’t always feel friendly and welcoming. Overall still I’ll continue patronizing the business as again, the format is unique and the location is convenient.

I’m hung between 4 or 5 stars. 4 stars seems like a disservice to ParkGrounds, a nearly perfect little space in Reynoldstown, East Atlanta, where you can park your bike, get some coffee, breakfast food, pastries, beer and or wifi. Also: half of it is a bona-fide dog park… basically all of the most gracious of God’s gifts AND significant inventions of mankind in one place. 5 stars seems like the least I could do. But… It ain’t The Ritz. The coffee’s good, but it’s no Jamaican Blue Mountain. The service is good, but nothing like Mesa Grill. It’s cute, but not quite The Plaza… so how does ParkGrounds merit 5 stars? Because I said so. All snobbery aside, this place is dy-na-mite. Every neighborhood should have one of these. I was in the area for only a few days but found myself having breakfast, americanos, and/or pastries(mostly and) twice a day every day. The pastries were the best. I don’t think they were made there but they were definitely made recently, and at a bakery. The counter help was friendly, informative, and didn’t mind that that I like my coffee a certain way. Mmm, now I want a chocolate croissant… The only time I didn’t have a pastry there was because I couldn’t decide between the breakfast bowl and the french toast. So I got them both. One after the other. Everything is honest and fresh. The only thing canned in there is the beer!(Hold for laughter) The beer selection is predominately the hippest of canned beers: Dale’s Pale, some local Sweetwater brews, PBR and the like… The entire place reeks of community and optimism– I can’t shake the feeling that the team at ParkGrounds genuinely enjoy pleasing customers, and frankly, I love it. 5 stars despite the fact there is no infinity pool or funky fiberglass waterbed seats like at The Standard in L. A… the dogs would just get it muddy anyway ;)

The small triangular parking lot is so small, it will only squeeze in two average size cars, 3 if you have a Fiat, etc. I parked on the street, which still had limited space, but it made me realize that coming here early or being lucky to find an open spot closer to the establishment is gonna be your best bet! I was the only one here when I entered in the early morning, but very soon after, people started flowing in and a continuous small line formed. They have a wonderful, open seating area with two long seat back wooden booths lining one entire corner of the coffee shop, in addition to fabric and leather sofas in another corner. You pick up your coffee at the little bar, and your food is personally served to you(always, always a plus for me). I ordered the café au lait and the breakfast burrito. My coffee was decent, and I’d order it again in the future. The burrito is automatically vegetarian, but you can make it vegan by switching out the eggs for tofu. It wasn’t explosion-in-your-mouth fantastic, but it was still good, clean, and fresh. As soon as I ordered my food, I heard the frying pan and spatula moving. Anything made-to-order is always a positive. You can leave your plates, etc. on your table and the staff will make a routine sweep to pick them up. They play awesome indie/chill music(i.e. the XX, Band of Horses), so I didn’t have to put my headphones on. Even the vibe from the locals is different here – everyone is polite and aware of the noise level. Seriously, the loudest noises came from the espresso machine. The staff were super friendly, and I also love the fact that they serve plenty of fresh pastries and are very vegan and vegetarian friendly. Definitely a peaceful place to gather with friends, study, and let your dog be a dog and roam free in the fenced-in play pen! Due to the misty/cloudy weather outside, the soggy mulch probably prevented a lot of the canines from coming out. I came here almost 4 years ago, so I was able to see this place in action as a doggy playground. I absolutely love the concept of this little coffee shop! The wifi password as of 3÷14÷2015 is: buycoffee; please note: the network is dogpark(or something along the lines of that) NOT parkgrounds.

I went here on a Monday morning after class! Barely anybody in the shop but it still had a great ambience! I’m a sucka for friendly staff and great customer service. The barista was super welcoming and soo conversational… didn’t even have any homework to do but I still stayed in the shop to relax, conversate, and eat!!! Btw I ordered a basic iced coffee(nothing special) and a turkey, pesto, and Swiss spinach wrap! That was the bomb!!! The pesto sauce and spinach wrap itself really took that meal too a whole new level! Lol overall I enjoyed my experience and will definitely come back one day when I’m finished with classes and have some time before work :)

Likely find parking on the streets. The«lot» is small, if you can even call it a lot. Once you step close to the facility, you’ll smell a bunch of animals(dogs). On this particular sunny day, they were barking but their presence was limited to the fenced park. I would not come back for the drinks. The almond milk chai latte is bland. Might as well just drink almond milk by itself and not dilute it with anything. There are 3 love seats as well as tables and chairs and bar stools. There is ample natural lighting from the big windows. The place is not too loud. Interesting place to read, use internet(free wifi), and/or people-watch. It looks like a nice place to bring dogs. You can bring food and drinks out on the patio where there are seats within the dog park, too. Don’t try to bring dogs inside. It’s frowned upon(and unhygienic probably).

The food is pretty underwhelming, but the hash brown bowls are great. The area is okay for the size, but there is lot’s of dust in the air. Coffee is great(and the pastries). Service mostly good. All-in-all it’s a great place to snag some exercise and socialization for your furry friend. I wouldn’t go if I had a closer dog park near by, and it’s not worth the trip just for the food. The food, dog park, and location combined make Park Grounds a weekly visit for me. There is one lady that comes with 4 – 5 dogs each time and talks at an extremely loud volume(not to anyone in particular, just the world at large). Swears constantly, aggressive dogs, and inattentive pet owner. She kind of ruins the experience. I have left multiple times due to her appearance. She once used a «anti bark horn» on one of her dogs, which sent some dogs cowering and others barked louder. You will know if you run into her — she is quite the character.

I never knew you could delicately toast bread. I just thought there was bread, and then there was toast. But the sandwich these folks made for me was really good. Delicately toasted multigrain(even though I asked for whole wheat) around some turkey, a spread of cream cheese, and some guac. Good stuff. ParkGrounds is a small dog oasis in the middle of Atlanta. It’s comfortable. Laid back. And the dogs seem to love the place. But even if you’re not into dogs, ParkGrounds serves up some good stuff for those of us without four-legged friends. Breakfast foods, sandwiches, fruit juices, tasty coffee beverages, including a modest selection of beers makes this a cool place to hang out and chill out and just otherwise kick back for a while. I’ll certainly be going back. Holler if you’re coming with.

This place is great! The coffee and espresso is delicious, and so are their baked goods. I love how open the space is outdoors, and how much seating and shade there is. When we arrived, there were more than 20 dogs running around! There were a few times when the dogs got aggressive and started barking/jumping on each other, but otherwise they were playful and had fun!

I cannot believe that there such place like this one exist !!! all the best things in the world in one place: coffee, food, bakery, cocktails, beers, wine AND A DOGPARK!!! I can now bring my puppy Ava with me to get coffee and she can have a great time with other dogs while I’m studying. I have an iced americano, my favorite drink that not too expensive and have enough caffein to help me survive through the day. I also had an almond croissant(I think that’s what it’s called). They also has alcoholic drink, but I might have to come back on the weekend to try those. The service was great, I got my coffee really quick there no wait and long line like if in Starbucks and the coffee taste much better. There are also comfy couches for sitting inside the shop. You can leave you dogs out in dog park area, get some food and drink and sit inside and relax.
