Cute, nostalgic place but seemed a little put off to make my wife’s eggs in olive oil because she is allergic to other oils.

Great little restaurant on Route 66 and worth the drive off I-55. I had the pulled pork horseshoe and the wife had the blue plate special, chicken fried chicken. Both had great flavors and were way above standard diner fare. Didn’t expect this quality in little Atlanta. The 40’s style diner is plus for those of us who remember this type of joint from our childhood. After your meal take a picture with the former muffler man across the street, now holding a hotdog.

The food was decent, nothing exceptional, but decent. BUT… 45 minutes for a burger and fries seems a bit too long. While the waitress was apologetic, it doesn’t mitigate 45 minutes for a burger and fries.

Neat clean 1950s style café. Our waitress was very helpful & attentative. I ordered the Palm Burger with chips & Dutch apple pie. Wife ordered cheese burger with chips & coconut cream pie. The Palm Burger was very greasy. Grease dripped from it. When I finished I had a full tablespoon of grease on my plate. The Burger was good size & thick. A bit under done with pink thru out. Flavor was just OK. Not a great Burger. Wife’s cheese burger wasn’t as greasy. She said taste was OK. Sort of like a Moonshine IL moonburger but thicker. Chips weren’t that good. They didn’t taste like potato chips. Taste more like the a Imitation diet chips. The Dutch apple pie was pretty good. The coconut cream pie was topped with real whip cream instead of merange. The pudding part & crust was OK. The whip cream top wasn’t that good. It wasn’t smmoth & creamy. More like made with cream cheese. Neither pie was great pie. Not even close to Mels in Hardin. Overall, for small town atmosphere it was OK. Probably won’t be back as we’ll try other places.

We had a great lunch on a cloudy Autumn day. The music was delightful. There were only a few other people there when we arrived at 11:30, but by the time we left the tables were beginning to fill up. I had the Frisco Melt on Sourdough and my partner had a Bacon Swiss Burger. I had peach pie for dessert while my partner ordered salted caramel ice cream. A great lunch, and we got 10 percent discount through Unilocal

Great place… awesome food and friendly atmosphere. The waitress sat with us for a while and told us some of the history of the town and surrounding areas. The homemade pies are fantastic! There is something on the menu for everyone. Highly recommended!

The food was tasty and inexpensive. The décor was charming… very old school. Worth a stop if you’re near Atlanta.

We loved this place. Cutest little diner café feel like stepping back in time. The coffee was wonderful black. Ordered a couple of burgers(bun free for me) and they were fresh and delicious. The hand cut fries were hot and crisp. I order the green chile burger and it had fresh grilled green chilies which was a very nice surprise on a bed of lettuce.

As I entered in to café. I thought for sure I went back in time. The staff were courteous and friendly. The cheeseburgers were wonderful! Don’t forget to sign the book if it’s your first time in! This café is both Charming and Historic!

Did I just step back into the 1940’s? What a great place! The restaurant has been a Route 66 diner landmark since 1934 and still maintains an old fashioned, Art Deco feel with music from the 1940’s filling the air. I had a delicious Reuben sandwich with fries, and asked for a side of dark gravy for the fries… delicious! For desert, I ordered a huge slice of chocolate mouse pie with whipped cream… fantastic. Reasonable prices, friendly service, and located across the street from a giant Paul Bunyan statue holding a hot dog… quirky and fun.

Have not been there since the new owners took over. But in the past the food was not quality, service was slower than molasses. We waited over an hour to get food and none came together. Was ridiculous.

Only had dessert but I can say the banana cream pie was phenomenal. Completely homemade and worth the drive to Atlanta.

Once again Unilocal led us to an awesome meal. Like being transported back 50 years to an old fashioned diner. Everything is made from scratch.

Very disappointing experience. After we left, we realized that most of the people in there ordered burgers and pie. We decided that if we had of done the same, we probably would have had a better experience. One of the people I was with ordered Shrimp Scampi. He was told multiple times that they would bring him the scampi sauce but he never received it. My boyfriend ordered the jambalaya. He isn’t from Louisiana(like I am), but he immediately realized that it was nothing like jambalaya. There were whole crawfish hidden throughout the meal. I’ve never seen him waste a meal, but he barely ate any of it. I knew I was in trouble when we asked about gluten in the food and I was told they aren’t very gluten free friendly. I figured I would find something to eat, despite the waitress dodging our questions about ingredients. I ordered the tenderloin sandwich(without a bun). I assumed it was a chicken tenderloin sandwich until I had eaten some of it and realized it was actually pork. I gave up pork about 10 years ago and felt very sick after realizing I had consumed pork. The staff were not very friendly either. This was our last stop on a nine day road trip and it was our worst experience of the trip.
