Gotta love Dr. Cole! AKA Dr. Awesome!!! He did surgery on my mom last year and people now mistake her for my sister! She’s not a grandma anymore, she’s a Glam-ma!!! Her confidence is through the roof and she wears a smile on her face constantly!

Love, love, love Oculus! From the staff to the doctors to the facility– everything is top notch! I have recommended Oculus to a handful of my girlfriends and they continually rave about their experience.

The place looks fancy, and the doctors seem nice, but I wouldn’t recommend them. I had ptosis surgery in 2010, and it didn’t correct the problem. In fact, my eye was worse. I was aware that might be an outcome, and I liked the doctor, so I decided to return a couple years later to try again to get my eye repaired. They set up the appointment, and I arranged my works schedule and got a ride for the day. Three days before the surgery, they called to tell me we were going to have postpone the surgery because the doctor was at a conference… A conference? Isn’t that something you know about weeks or months in advance… At any rate, I rescheduled again for a month later, arranged my schedule again, and, again, they called two days before and let me know the doctor was sick. I got this as a voice mail. This time, the assistant went ahead and just scheduled my next date for me without asking me what my schedule was at all. By this time, I decided I was done rescheduling for a doctor that botched my eye surgery and then couldn’t manage to be around to fix it, so I never called to confirm. Apparently, this time they were serious, even though they never checked with me to see if their time was good for me, because on the week of the surgery I had to spend a couple hours returning phone calls from the frantic hospital workers wondering where my pre-op stuff was and trying to reach the doctor’s office to tell them to buzz off. My insurance covered my first surgery and will cover my next with another doctor, so I haven’t personally lost any money in this, just time and recovery pain that I’ll have to go through again. That said, I’m betting most of their business comes from people who pay for this surgery themselves, I can’t believe they don’t offer better service. If you’re thinking of getting ptosis surgery, keep looking around. Unless, of course, you have plenty of money and lots of free time to arrange your schedule around a doctor’s office that may change your surgery date multiple times.
