Simply gone way down. Over priced with people who do not respect appointments. Change needed.

One thing that bothers me is when a salon requires you to have an «appointment» but when you show up they are to busy conversating to come out & greet you. I walked into this salon for the first time & it was clean & upscale looking. The front desk receptionist was nice & pleasant. He went to the back to let Proctor know I was here & welcomed me to have a seat. Then all I hear is some woman laughing or screaming, she was too loud for comfort. I just wanted a hair cut & it woulda of been easy as my hair isn’t long at all. So I asked the receptionist if Proctor was with a client he said no he wasn’t but that he’ll be out shortly. So basically that did it for me because I can understand making somebody wait if your finishing up your current customer but that’s just it he wasn’t with a customer he was just back there talking. I heard the prices here are ridiculous but was prepared to pay for good service. I decided I didn’t even want to know the price of a hair cut because making a customer wait because you want to talk up a storm isn’t professional. I’m not throwing shade on their talent or ability to make customers look good, no this review is only about lack of courtesy & not coming out to greet your client & let them know you will get them in a minute or two.

I utilized two services at this salon, hair care and esthetics. Toni has been my beautician on two occasions and did an excellent job. She’s good at installing weaves and especially good at trimming hair. I like that she’s more concerned with the health of one’s hair rather than the esthetics of it. At Nubiance, I mostly utilize the spa services where I’ve had Eryn Renee as my esthethian for about three-four months until she left. She performed my series of glycolic peels right after I had a horrible case of breakouts. Unfortunately, I didn’t see much improvement through the series until I switched estheticians. Currently, Abra runs the spa services. Although she just graduated from esthetician school, she seems to have really good technique. I was very pleased with the results of her chemical peels. After the first peel that she performed, I only peeled around my mouth. I called to complain about it and she explained that she wanted to be more conservative about the peel to prevent skin damage since she wasn’t familiar with my skin. I truly respected her for that and luckily she performed a free peel a few weeks later to make up for it(I peeled greatly that time). Since the last peel my skin has improved dramatically. I’m finally getting a lot of compliments on how clear and healthy my skin looks compared to before. In contrast to the older esthetican, Abra didn’t extract my pimples, which allowed my skin to heel and prevented hyperpigmentation. I’m so happy with Abra and would recommend her chemical peels service. I’ll update you on my next set of TCA peels this year. I’m very excited!

I absolutely love going to Nubiance Hair Salon. The hospitality is superb from the moment you walk in the door. I have been getting my hair done here for about 2 years now and have yet to find a salon like this one. It is s modern laid back atmosphere where the stylists take great pride in your hair care. Be sure to see Sonae!

I don’t usually do reviews but I thought that I needed to with my experience. I started going to Nubiance about a year ago for a touch up relaxer. I was pretty nervous because I have not had the best of luck with hair dressers in Atlanta. The first visit was very attentive and the relaxer was put on well and my hair felt and looked wonderful although I asked for a trim and got a cut in a style, that I really didn’t like. I work out and I put my hair in a ponytail, I could hardly do it with this style. It was in a ponytail but a tiny, tiny, tiny one. The cut grew out(thank goodness) and I thought that my hair was on it’s way. So I stayed. To be honest, there were some hiccups like being an hour late for my appointment and me almost walking out, setting an super early appointment and I was there on time but she wasn’t, leaving the chemical on while at the shampoo bowl and I had to say that my scalp was starting to burn to get her to rinse it off before she disappeared. The last touch up relaxer broke my hair off on the left side pretty badly at the nape and side. I don’t believe that my scalp was based properly and the relaxer was put on. I have very soft, fine hair that I care about. The shedding of my hair when it was being shampooed was blamed on a semi perm color that I used but I’ve been using this type of color for years without a problem and I am careful when I put it on and how. Really it was the overlapping of the relaxer and the relaxed hair shedding. I don’t tip when I pay for my service due to this very thing. If I did I would be tipping for breaking off my hair. I just pay the cost for the service. I called the salon recently to speak with the owner, Vicki before leaving this review but I never received a return phone call. I think I give these businesses too much of a chance to correct. I have been in Atlanta a bit and still can’t find a good hair salon with a high level of consistency with customer service and the consistent application of a chemical. They start off great and than go down from there. Don’t know what the issue is. For now I will visit the Dominican Salon that got high reviews for a blow out when I need one and let my hair transition to natural, as I am too afraid to trust another Black hair salon/dresser with my hair and particularly with a chemical. Update: The owner called me yesterday 12⁄16 to discuss the breakage. That’s all I wanted in the first place and I would have not written this.

The owner of Nubiance salon and spa has a very nasty attitude. She left me waiting for five minutes while she engaged in a convo with the receptionist. I asked if I should announce my arrival to my stylist and she barked me as if I was bothering her. My hair looks fab thanks to my awesome stylist… YUKITA Stafford but the customer service I received from the owner today was less than acceptable.

I’ve never written a salon review, but because all of my hair dropped out for the first time in my life, I couldn’t help but to warn others. I truly debated posting this as I like the folks here, but the fact of the matter is that I’ve never ever had all my hair drop out or have major ball spots! NEVER. I went here after cutting down my bra strap length natural hair to get a new look for the new year. I wanted to get a short, sleep platinum blonde look on my natural hair. Having seen lots of women with thick black(multi race) hair like mines I figured this should work. Well on first round my hair turned our to be too yellow and also a bit over processed. It started to come out, but I decided hey, perhaps it’s just short term due to the néw color. Figured some deep conditioner would work! A few days later I then returned to the salon to fix my color as I could not go around professionally with a YELLOWHEAD. Vicky who is the owner(she did first color) then attempted to fix my color. This is when the real disaster struck! I didn’t realize it until I left, but not only did the barber cut me down to look like a boy, but I had major ball patches! Two weeks later, I ended up shaving my head at home as my hair kept dropping out on the floor and you could see some major ball spots. :-(((((. Both me and my family were horrified as we all have thick, long natural hair. My mom said«I’ve never seen anything like this! Only someone who can’t do hair would burn out your thick hair!» Did I mention this cost me upwards of $ 200. I was so disappointed I didn’t even call back. Never wore a wig in my life and I’m doing so now. Don’t go here if you want to keep your hair. I’m a professional global speaker and this experience horrified me and cost me lots of money. What a way to start my 2014. These guys should not be dyeing anyone’s hair!

Again people, The owner has an unethical way of dealing with people. She implemented a new and crazy policy for eyelash services. YOUWILLNOWBECHARGEDBASEDONYOURLASTVISIT! WHAT? You all know that sometimes your favorite stylist is not always available when you want something done. Which means you go somewhere else! DOESBECAUSE I HAVEN’T BEENTOYOURSALONIN A WHILEDOESNOTMEAN I HAVENOTHADMYSERVICESDONESOMEPLACEELSE! So please STOP reaping people off! Time to complain BBB I will be call you soon. Vicky the owner is such a bully! She called me(mind you I am NOT her client) not to have my services done at her salon anymore because of my review. WHODOESTHAT? VICKYREVIEWSAREMENTTOBECONSTRUCTIVE! If you can’t take the heat put your flat iron down. I stand behind my review because it is the truth! I have proof! She adds $ 25 to everything. Such a thief!

Went in to Nubiance yesterday after passing by it time and time again… I am very picky about my short do, so of course I was nervous! As soon as I stepped in this beautiful and trendy haven my fears were put at eaze by a warm greeting. It already felt like I had been going to this salon for years. Everyone was so nice and genuinley looked happy to be there…(which cant be said about alot of salons) So…Vicki came over to greet me and we did a brief consulation. She actually listened to what I wanted, where I was trying to go with my hair, and came up with some different things we could do with my color. She was right on target with everything… I was sold!!! :) Fast forward 2 hours later… I am walking out of Nubiance relaxed and looking like a million bucks!!!

Run, don’t walk to Nubiance! This is THEBEST hair salon that I have been to in my 8 years of living in Atlanta. I am not the kind of girl that spends a lot of time or money on my hair. But, since I have been transitioning to natural hair for a year, I needed to give my mane a little TLC. A friend recommended Nubiance and since her hair ALWAYS looks good, I checked it out. I was so impressed when I got there. I was greeted at the door, offered some water, and seated promptly. J’haira(I probably spelled that wrong) was really nice in greeting me. She is the first person who has washed my hair and made me relax at the same time. No wincing from long finger nails, just a soothing scalp massage. I then got a hydrating treatment and she began to work on my two textured hair.(Note: as she straightened, there was no burnt-hair smell either. I hate that and take it as a sign that the stylist doesn’t know what she’s doing. J’haira was on it!) When she was finished, my hair looked about an inch longer and was soft and straight. I was SHOCKED! No one has been able to work that kind of magic on my hair. I love it! I will definitely go back and have already recommended it to a friend. Thank you Nubiance but, especially J’haira!
