We went to this restaurant only because Alfredo’s was closed(2 doors down) and we were craving Italian. This place was very average. The bruschetta, Caesar salad and chicken Parmesan was all ok. I think Maggianos would have been a better option. the spaghetti didn’t seem homemade and the marinara was runny… The hostess was nice and the place is sort of quaint. The service was long. I doubt we’d be back with so many options in atlanta.

Damn good authentic Italian food and drinks prepared and served by the whole family. Menu specials change with seasons and selections at the market. Excellent seafood dishes. Reservations are taken but there is always a wait for my favorite table anyway. I go back again and again. The food is totally worth it. I’ve never waited a long time for a meal even on a very busy Saturday night. Great wine selection as well. Great for a romantic date night!

From the street, it doesn’t look like much and inside it’s an older more traditional type restaurant, but if you want well-executed, authentic Italian food, Nino’s is a fantastic place to go! I was a little concerned after seeing a few of the negative reviews regarding the service, and I will say the service was a little slow compared to contemporary style restaurants, but I felt it was a more European pace. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, providing a solid recommendation for a couple of wine pairings with our dishes. The seafood and pasta were perfectly executed! Bottom line — I’d come back for the fettuccine with scallops/shrimp anytime and order a bottle of wine to sip through while I relax.

I think I’d have to give this place 3.5 stars and lean towards four. The one drawback can be the waiting staff– a bit pushy on drinks most nights and can be really slow if the place isn’t crowded and rush you a bit if it’s a Friday or Saturday. I’ve been here numerous times with my family and almost always have a great time. The food is almost always great, although not mind blowing– but consistently really really good. There is a descent sized parking lot and I recommend going when it’s warm so you can get a table on the porch. It’s for a great ambiance and really good food– what more to ask for?

Haven’t had a food experience like that since we were. In Germany and Italy. Just divine parpadelle dish, my husband loved the special; the bailey’s chocolate chip cheesecake was homemade and so light. Jonathan was the best and even offered perfect wine pairings. Will go back regularly.

Nino’s or Alfredo’s? Nino’s by an Angel Hair There seems to be an ongoing debate between those prefer one of these old –school Italian restaurants over the other. We’ll bravely enter the fray and declare that we prefer Alfredo’s, but only slightly. I gave Alfredo’s 4 stars and this should be 3 ½, but Unilocal doesn’t allow halves. Our visit to Nino’s was on a Monday. Forced by a movie start time, we had to eat relatively early when they opened at 5:30pm. All staff were gracious and helpful and slightly less formal than those at Alfredo’s. Quickly brought to our table was some very nice and warm bread and a plate of complimentary mini-bruschetta, a nice touch. Our group of four started by sharing a couple of appetizers and a Caesar salad. Both the calamari and the mussel appetizers were great. The mussels were cooked in a heavier tomato broth which was a nice change and really good. The Caesar salad was traditional and very good. These items were the best part of the meal. For main courses we had a pasta with vodka sauce, a lasagna, a pasta with shrimp & scallops, and a veal chop. All were good, but seriously in need of extra seasoning. Salt and pepper helped a great deal, but it is always best when the seasoning is done in the cooking process. The veal chop was quite nice, but again it needed some more seasoning in the rub. The almond torte dessert was nice but nothing to write about(hmmm…then why am I writing about it?) For the prices charged, I would have expected everything to be closer to hitting the mark. Overall, Alfredo’s served a better meal, but only by the thinnest of angel hair(pasta, that is.)

We waited over an hour for our food after ordering. Nothing more to say. Yes they were busy but dear lord. We finally gave up and left. The staff were very rude when we asked to get the check for our drinks. Very unprofessional place. We definitely will not be back.

Nino’s is good homemade Italian. What we ordered: SPAGHETTICONPOLPETTE Di CARNE: 5⁄5 — My wife LOVED her spaghetti. ORECCHIETTECONSALSICCE E RAPINI: 3⁄5 — Not sure if the bitterness was intentional, but if it wasn’t, the taste just wasn’t my thing. Everything tastes fresh and made from scratch. I’d recommend. Service seemed like it fell a bit short. They weren’t overly busy and we felt rushed. No one cared to ask if we wanted dessert nor did they push the cart to our table =\ I’m sure my body will thank me later though.

How I missed this place the two times I lived in ATL I will never know. A long-time friend loves this place so where else would we put together a 77th birthday /appreciation dinner for him? We had a table of 12 on a VERY busy Saturday night. I want to give a special«Thank You» to Dan, our server, who single-handedly took control of an overwhelming set of circumstances. The evening was a BIG success on so many levels. GREAT food, excellent wine suggestions and superb service. I will tell you this; next time I get back to ATL I know where my reservation will be made. My first experience definitely will bring me back. Those who are regulars want to ask… Where are YOU? I want to ask… It’s a 4-hour drive for me, what are you waiting for?

First time experience and we will never return! Actual rating: –1 star! If you enjoy terrible, clumsy, and unprofessional service along with bland pasta dishes saturated with butter in a dimly lit dingy restaurant then this is your joint! I would settle for Americanized chain restaurants such as Olive Garden before I would ever go back to Nino’s. The server seemed annoyed that no one at the table was initially ordering a beverage along with the water. It really surprised me that he didn’t say, BESIDESWATER, which is a huge peeve of mine! He came to the table to get our order when one from our party was in the restroom. I wish we would have ordered because it took about 15 minutes after that and we were all obviously ready to order. My glass of wine was never ordered but I said nothing about it. My Caesar salad was bland and my main dish, the Fettuccine Portifino, just was lacking Italian love! Out of the four in my party only one somewhat enjoyed their Spaghetti and Meatballs which if they can’t get that right, I would give up hope and close my restaurant! The bill was $ 124.25 with tip for disgusting Italian food! Just don’t waste your time and money here, you’ll end up writing a review on here too.

We have been dining here for the past 5 years. We love the ambience, food and service. Veal and pastas are awesome. I would avoid the steak(who orders steak at an Italian restaurant??) but we’ve tried most of the entrees. Clam app is excellent! Love Nino’s!

I have not eaten dined inside the restaurant only ordered take out. So right now I can comment on the food. The Calamari was excellent — they give a very big portion and the spicy tomato sauce it came with was delicious. The Caesar — was nothing special. Actually my husband was not a fan of the dressing, he thought it tasted«mustardy». I ordered the spaghetti with white clam sauce — This was excellent! The little neck clams were delicious and they really give you a good portion of clams. Surprisingly I thought they did not give enough pasta — normally restaurants give you plenty of pasta. It was still enough to fill me up, after eating the meal with bread and few bites of calamari. I should mention that I have a huge appetite — so if you eat like a normal person who may say the pasta they served is fine. The sauce was also very delicious. Someone wrote a comments saying the sauce was plain, but in my opinion the sauce had plenty flavor. Next time we eat here we’ll make sure to dine at the restaurant.

We scouted around and found this place. For the Scoutmob price I guess it’s ok. I ordered the veal — it is not good at all. I had a bite of it and thats all I had. The smell is funky and flavor is weird. For 23 dollar dish — I am very disappointed. Dry paste with vodka sauce is decent. The complimentary bread is good. For this place, I would recommend to order safe and just get the regular Italian dishes like pasta, spaghetti, etc.

You know how the taste of some food are vastly enhanced by atmosphere, feelings when eating, or anything other than the actual taste of the food? I think my meal at Nino’s definitely benefited from the classic old school Italian restaurant vibe, along with my major craving for a giant pasta dish earlier in the week before I got to Nino’s for a Sunday dinner. The other Unilocalers weren’t kidding… it looks like there have been no changes to the décor since Nino’s first opened in the 1940s(other than adding a TV above the bar). Other than an occasional Southern accent overheard from other tables, I could have been in Chicago, Boston, Queens, or any other city with old school Italian cred(well, at least more so than Atlanta). I was actually surprised upon exit that the sun was shining outside showing Cheshire Bridge Rd in all its glory, since the dining room is so dim. The food– i ordered the caprese salad, which was a gigantic plate of tomatoes, mozzarella, arugula, splashed with olive oil and concentrated sweet yummy dots of balsamic vinegar… I loved this dish so much, I practically licked the plate clean. It would have been worth the visit just for the tomatoes and balsamic vinegar of this dish. But no, I couldn’t stop there… I also ate a giant plate of creamy sauced fettuccine with a few pieces of seafood thrown in… exactly what I was craving, even though it probably was not better or worse than the old school Italian places of yore I was referring to earlier. Oh yeah, having a Scoutmob didn’t hurt either… it was a pop-up Scoutmob for Sun-Thu only, for 50% off. Prompt servers who refilled my water glass many times, gave me bruschetta, and left me alone in a dark corner table to wolf down my giant Italian meal… thanks for not judging me.

I really enjoyed this cute, little Italian restaurant! We found it on Scoutmob(you receive $ 20 max discount on your meal). What a great deal! If you look at the menu online, the prices seem expensive but don’t let that scare you. They have a patio/outdoor area and an indoor area which provides a romantic, dim light atmosphere. I’m pretty sure it’s an older building but it’s been renovated so you can’t really tell. The booth we sat in was comfortable, the servers were helpful and attentive, and the food was very good. There were people walking around providing refills before we asked(which was nice). There’s so many options on the menu, it was hard to decide on just one dish! I finally choose the Petti Di Pollo Alla Alessandra which included chicken breast topped with eggplant, mozzarella cheese and served in a Marsala wine sauce. It also came with a side of pasta with whichever sauce you’d like on it: marinara, meat sauce, or pink sauce(at no additional charge). I choose the Pink sauce which was excellent! To be honest, the Marsala sauce was a bit bland for the chicken so I’d love to come back and order it again but with Pink sauce(tomato sauce mixed with cream/alfredo sauce). I think that would make it perfect! This is a great date restaurant! They have a full wine menu and all kinds of seafood or meat dishes! Check it out!
