I love Mellow Mushroom and this location is pretty good too. I usually get their food to go but I never have to wait too long for it. Great chicken wings and pizza.

This is the best Mellow Mushroom! It has a cool vibe and it’s right next to Whole Foods with it’s own lot. Even though the Northlake location is closer to my home, I went to this one because they had a better rating(thanks Unilocal)! It’s definitely worth the trip. I’ve been to several locations but this by far is my favorite. The pizza is hot and fresh without overcooking the bottom. I always get the House Special(supreme). The $ 23 price tag for a large is high but it’s a really big pizza! Thank goodness it reheats well. It’s loaded with toppings and cheese and the garlic, buttery crust is the best! I never dine in but it’s festive with TV’s, a bar and trivia. The crowd ranges from families to college kids and everyone looks like they’re having fun. Highly recommend!

I don’t care for most of their sandwiches. Every deli has better sandwiches.

I got a gluten-free Thai pizza. Not good. Bad flavor combinations, they didn’t quite know what they’re doing in that respect… wrong sauce for the toppings. Crappy beer list. Husband’s regular pizza was also underwhelming. We went on a very slow weekday, and the young waitstaff seemed irritated that we were interrupting them by showing up. Sorry bout that guys. We won’t be back.

Gross. Mellow Mushrooms are generally pretty good and consistent no matter which location you go to. But this one is the exception… maybe they’re just having a bad night. Crust: Thick and doughy Toppings: Overloaded and not fully cooked We barely got down 2 slices. The rest of this pie is going to the trash bin.

Mellow Mushroom is really awesome — I’d quite forgotten how awesome until just a couple months ago. Before then I’d only ever had it in the form of takeout at college, but recently when my parents were visiting in town, my fiancé and I took them there for dinner on Sunday night. I was a little concerned if they could accommodate my mom’s gluten sensitivity, but a quick check online assuaged that fear, and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. I could be wrong, but I believe this Mellow Mushroom on Briarcliff might be the original location and it’s pretty funky. It’s not big inside and it’s filled with psychedelic paraphenalia and generally feels kind of like a dive pizza place. Pretty great actually. After we sat down and my mom quizzed our waiter on the gluten free options, my fiancé and I ordered the house pizza that has practically everything on it and my mom and dad split a gluten free kosmic karma pizza(great pizza names, btw). And when they came out, the pizzas were great — the medium was certainly large enough to feed two easily. It was surprisingly good. Then my fiancé and I came back a couple of weeks ago for lunch and we ordered some wings and a large pizza, and ended up taking half the pizza home with us plus a couple of the wings — that’s how big it was. Lucky for us, though, everything reheated like a charm later when we’d gotten our appetites back for round two. I’m really happy Mellow Mushroom is nearby, but I wish they delivered for those times I don’t want to brave the traffic(or put on pants) and make my way over there.

So I have been to 2 other Mellow Mushroom locations and I’ve never been disappointed. The food here is just awesome. One of my favorite pizza places. Imagine my delight when I found out that I moved to a place that is literally two minutes away from another Mellow Mushroom location! The first experience was less than delightful though. The food was good as always, but I was really really disappointed by the servers. They were so rude! They did not even offer a smile when we entered not did they smile the entire time we were there. The only words our servers spoke to us was«what would you like? «, «okay», «I’ll get that», and«would you like the check». It felt like they didn’t even want us there. I’m thoroughly disappointed MM!

As per the usual, this place was awesome. They have great salads, great pizza, and a good selection of beers on draft. We ordered the little greek salad(which is HUGE) and a mighty meaty pizza. om nom nom. If you like meat on your pizza, get this one. It’s ah-mazing. The service was so incredibly quick, it was amazing. Nothing bad to say except the parking is fairly limited.

My husband and I usually go here very often, since we live at walking distance. We mostly order their kosmic karma and pitcher beer. The pizza never disappointed us and the best veggie pizza ever. But i’m not giving 5 stars because of today visit. Totally disappointing! We ordered hot wings and herb burgers with side of potatos. Hot wings were ok, not great taste and the burger came out very cold. When we asked the waitress about it, she took it back warmed it up for few seconds and bought it again. It wasn’t tasty at all or warm enough. Felt like they served the noon left over burger. I’m not sure if we will return to this place again

In general, I like Mellow Mushroom Pizza and haven’t had a bad experience at any loction I have tried… Dunwoody, Piedmont Park, etc and the La Vista location maintains that experience. Friendly staff, great food, prompt service, good beer list, and nice patio. They can compete with any pizza place in Atlanta.

I was recently here for a work event to play team trivia(we sucked it up, but that is besides the point). Let’s start off with the parking situation. What a mess! Their parking lot is itsy bitsy. I used to live in Toco Hills and still go to the gym in the area so I have seen the craziness of patrons trying to go to MM many times. Now, I was finally a part of it. Went around the whole building and, yep, no parking. I ended up parking across the street at the cleaner/tailor establishment. It was after they are closed so it was not infringing on their business. Others I know parked at Whole Foods(I figured that was a big risk) or by the nearby apartment complex. I am sure they are busy most days given the parking issues I have witnessed. Tonight was no exception. We did not have enough chairs at our table. One person would leave so another person could join our party. They weren’t staying for the trivia so it was OK. But man this place needs more regular chairs. I started off with water since I had just been to the gym and wasn’t hungry. My waitress never came back to check if I was ready to order food. Trivia goes till about 10:30pm(starts at 8:30pm) so you’d think perhaps I’d get hungry. Anywho. I finally tracked her down and made my order. I got the red skin potato pie. REDSKINPOTATOPIE Olive oil and garlic base with sliced roasted red potatoes, Applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Garnished with chives then drizzled with sour cream and spicy ranch dressing. In actuality, way more than a drizzle of ranch dressing. Good if you like ranch like that. Me, not so much. Should have asked for it to be on the side. Sour cream was also not drizzled, but was a glop on top of each slice. Wish I had more of that. Pizza was OK. I have had something similar pie at Slice Downtown and it was better there. I ordered a small. I ate two slices at dinner. One another night and still have one left for tomorrow. Wish you could order as a slice. Only basic slices can be ordered as slices here. Another reason to steer me to Slice. I usually order white pizza, but MM puts tomatoes on theirs. I hate when pizza places do that. Ruins the white. A white should be all about the cheese in my opinion. Trivia night was fun. I’d go again. I’d likely order a pepperoni or something else basic so I can eat just a slice.

I was aghast when I realized that I haven’t reviewed this Mellow Mushroom since I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve graced the doors of this location. For shame! Well, here goes. I love to get mellow at Mellow Mushrooms, adore the pizzas. The crust, with its sprinkling of parm, is stellar, made with spring water. The crust isn’t greasy or tough either, just the right amount of chew. The red sauce is full of tomato flavor and is really earthy. I highly recommend the Mighty Meaty for a scrumptious protein punch. They don’t skip on the toppings, that’s for sure. Mellow Mushroom isn’t exactly the most gentle towards the purse(a large Mighty Meaty will set you back $ 24) but at least the quality of the pizza is high, and there are beer specials certain nights of the week. This particular location boasts being the oldest existing Mellow currently in existence(born in 1979) which is totally groovy. All the employees are cheerful and friendly too. Bathrooms are tight but okay. The parking lot can be a bit dicey and crowded so try to go at off-peak times. Don’t visit this Mellow Mushroom on Wednesdays unless you’re playing trivia because the place will be packed. And sign up for the e-mail list; I’ve gotten some generous freebies from it, and they don’t message you every day.

You can find this location of Mellow Mushroom at 1679 Lavista Rd NE, Atlanta, GA30329 right next to Whole Foods and Post Briarcliff. This location is one of the older, longer running Mellow Mushrooms in Atlanta, at one time threatened by Post Apartments(who coveted the land and seemed to buy out all the nearby businesses). I’m happy that it has both survived and thrived. I believe the building was already here before MM decided to make it it’s own, with some parking in front, a large neon mushroom sign and an expansive patio. The interior is old-school, more bar than restaurant with plenty of raw wood finishes and tile floor. Tons of nostalgia here for me as it’s been many years since I last visited, then most recently I’ve been by twice in the span of a few months. Both times I’ve had consistently good service and food. For me, Mellow Mushroom is about a good, consistent product with tons of flavor, a salad to split and a few pints of beer. Secondary is the hippy-dippy 60’s décor and of course, great service rounds out the trifecta. This location still has plenty of attitude while serving up what you would normally expect from a well established pizza chain with beautiful wheat crusts and amazing fresh toppings. It’s pretty much the same menu here as at other locations with all our favorite pizza combinations — I’m particularly fond of the Kosmic Karma — but most recently went with the old standby, pepperoni and mushroom. This location also gets kudos for having a good beer menu with plenty of local craft. So what are you waiting for? Care to join me for a pie?

I ordered 2 medium pizzas; 1 kosmic karma, 1 build your own veggie. Both vegan(dairy free)(they offer Daiya, but we are not fans, and prefer the pizza sans cheese). I gotta say, both were OUTSTANDING. Huge hit with the family. Perfectly blended flavors of red and pesto sauce and the sundried tomatoes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My only complaint is that I ordered 2 medium pizzas and my total was over $ 40.

Love Mellow Mushroom. This location is a little more casual(and older, worn) than other locations and maybe service was a little more off also. But the food was as good as I expected. Parking lot is tight and crowded. As someone else mentioned, you should park next door at Whole Foods.

Great pizza! Had the«supreme» style with the wheat crust. I ate every bite that I had, INCLUDING the crust! I’m usually a topping eater only– much to the chagrin of the people sharing pizza with me. I must repeat– I even ate the CRUST! I had take out, so I can’t speak to the atmosphere, but oh my gosh– what delicious pizza!

A pretty good pizza place, with really great peeps. We ordered MM takeout, and when we got there, we were told that they’d missed one of our wing orders. They apologized and offered to give us a free beer while we waited. There were regulars chatting with the bartender, people enjoying their post-Christmas pies, and really good moods everywhere. Though MM is a chain, the early locations(and I think this is one) have their own atmosphere, and they use local ingredients and find local beers whenever possible, which gives it a much more«local pizza joint» flair. If I lived nearby, I certainly would come back to this location.

While in the Atlanta area my boyfriend and I were craving some pizza(it’s one of our staple foods). So our friend took us to the local Mellow Mushroom. The restaurant was so unique and nothing like I’ve seen before. The place is so original, I couldn’t believe it was a chain. Everything is bright and has a super hippie, psychedelic feel to it. The menu was huge, and we sat right next to the open kitchen so we had a preview of every awesome item that came out. EVERYTHING looked delicious. But we came the the Mellow Mushroom for pizza– so we ignored the rest of the menu. The pizza selection is huge, at least 15 different options. So many options that we couldn’t decide on just one. Luckily you can order half pies here, so we went with the Gourmet White(olive oil/garlic base topped with sun-dried tomatoes, provolone, feta, onions, and mozzarella) and the Buffalo Chicken. Both were super delicious. The pizza dough is apparently made with the famous Georgia«Sweet Water,» it was the best dough I’ve ever had. I could have eaten just the crust. It was the perfect mix of fluffy and crusty topped with some amazing seasonings. The medium pie was more than enough for two of us, we ended up with two slices left over– which we took home and ate later. The medium pie was about $ 20. I hope this chain expands and comes up north!
