Not a bad spot to grab a drink… We didn’t eat here, just stopped in to grab a drink and watch the football games. They have a great beer selection and our server was very nice. The place smelled good and was one of the only places around us that was open. I can’t give 5 stars because I didn’t eat anything, but next time I’m stuck in Atlanta, I’ll definitely stop back.

I’m not sure but it seemed that our server was maybe new? But if so, then they need to train their employees better. Simple things like not having to ask for more water, taking away appetizer and salad dishes before entrée comes out, checking to see if our meal looks right after someone else serves it, not making us wait for refills on bar drinks, etc… I haven’t ever been a server but I know these things are important to good service. Also, the guy that brought us out our dinners had rubber gloves on. I thought that was really gross. I appreciate that you are requiring your staff to do this. But please, not when they are bringing out my dinner. I rather doubt he’s changing them that often. The food was good, not great. I wouldn’t eat here again.

The owner sent me a certificate to get another sandwich. I did not expect this and it was really a great surprise. This states she cares about the business and her customers!

I ate at this place while staying at the drury inn and suites. It was good. Nothing over the top. I had the shrimp and grits in an etoufee(sp?) the food was good. Service was great. There was a very festive atmosphere.

I don’t know how to rate the food, because we did not get served. Consequently, we walked out and we will not be back.

Good food and service. Salad was a little dried looking. Steak and potatoes had simple but great flavor

Came here on a Saturday night and seated right away and place was pretty busy. Server was excellent! Kept our drinks full and very friendly. A few customers watching a game were pretty noisy at times but basically an average noise level. Very convenient to a group of nearby hotels, where we were staying. I ordered the chicken tender salad and the chicken was tender with a very light, crispy batter. Yum! The dressing was on the side and the lettuce and toppings were very fresh. Had a bite of my husband’s sirloin which was very tasty. Rolls came out warm. Prices are reasonable but expect to pay more than $ 15 for an entrée. Ambiance is ok. We got 15% off the bill by showing our hotel room key. Overall good experience. Good portions on the meals.

I’ve wanted to eat here for years but never was able to make it until last Thursday night when we were staying at the Drury Inn next door. This is classic, old-school, 1970s-atmosphere dining at its absolute finest. Tyler was our server and could not have been better. He introduced us to the place and told us about the specials. He made menu suggestions. We couldn’t decide between the gumbo and the spicy chicken soup, but we chose the gumbo. It was excellent. Tyler wanted us to taste the spicy chicken soup, so he brought us a small sample, which was just as good as the gumbo. Even after tasting both, we still can’t decide! Hahaha We were just having a snack, so we got an order of wings with fries. Tyler brought the fries out when they were done, before the wings. I don’t know why more restos don’t do this: Instead of bringing out all the food together, bring out stuff as soon as it is cooked. That way, all your food is hot! So we enjoyed our hot(temp) fries for a couple of minutes until our wings(also hot) arrived. Great wings, great sauce, great temperature. Great blue cheese and ranch to go with celery. Along with the food, we enjoyed a few beers knowing that we could walk home to the Drury next door. I’m so glad to say I’ve finally eaten at Malone’s. And it was just as good as I always knew it would be.

Order carry out here on Saturday before we headed downtown for an event. I order shrimp with veggies and rice. Very tasty. Had a drink at the bar while I waited on my order. The service was excellent and the bartender gave us an extra discount for staying at a hotel on the same street!!! My Bob Marley was on point!

— Ordered a burger; told them to leave off the sauce and mushrooms — Burger comes out COVERED in sauce and festooned with mushrooms — Sent it back; came back with the sauce and mushrooms only(poorly) scraped off, leaving plenty still on the same burger Don’t eat here; they’re sloppy, they’re dishonest, and they don’t care

Wednesday night, early evening. Sat at bar so wait staff was great. Poor girls working their butts off. I ordered the 12oz sirlion. Salad was terrible. Half ass thrown together, wilted veggies, no cheese. The steak came out in decent time. Over cooked, under seasoned, and obviously a previously frozen cut of meat. The texture appeared that the cook used a flat iron on my steak which was ordered medium rare. No juice came out while cutting!!! If something cost over $ 20 you’d better do it right. I’m convinced now that native Atlanta people do not know quality food. Good luck

It’s not fancy food but it’s fine and the beer selection is great. Went there last Friday night with some friends and we sat out on the second floor deck. It’s not a part of town that offers any grand views but the deck is spacious. Service was friendly and attentive. The calamari and crab fritters were solid. And they have a fine selection of beers. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here but if you’re in the area and want a meal and a drink, I’d recommend it.

Inside was very clean, and we were seated quickly. Our server, at first, was fun and attentive, and made recommendations. I ordered a sweet tea, got unsweet, and it took forever for him to fix it. He would disappear for a long period of time and drinks stayed empty. I ordered a bourbon sirloin which came with a house salad to start. Salad was as expected. We ordered rolls on the side. Our entrees eventually came out and they weren’t hot, just felt like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The rolls came after the entrees, and they were just room temp and not cooked(as we expected, since he said they were about to come out of the oven). Not a big deal, just sort of funny. Again, everything was just average. It was certainly edible, just not hot and not enough flavor for the price.

We ended up staying in Atlanta on the way back from Seattle this past weekend. Initially I did not recognize the place but I had eaten her years ago. From what I understand, this place has been here for about 30 years. My last visit was less than stellar. I am happy to report the place is much improved. I had the Ribeye with a loaded Baked Potato. It was a high quality cut of meat and very flavorful. The potato was perfect. The Highland Oatmeal Porter was a nice finish. My Bride had the Twin Filets with Demi Glaze on the side and Mashed Potatoes And I quote«…It was Delicious. Steak was cooked perfect!!!» Happy this place appears to be doing well.

Well, I read a bunch of the reviews before I walked over from my hotel to dine. I felt as if I was taking a chance since there were some less than 4 or 5 star reviews. I was pleasantly surprised! Wednesday eve at 7:30 and the place was packed! There must be few Baptists in south ATL! I was traveling alone, so I took a seat at the bar. The ladies working the bar were doing some heavy lifting tonight as almost everyone sitting at the bar was also having dinner. Props to Chasidy, who kept me watered and fed is short order. Great server! Started with a Stoli with soda and lime… Came as Stoli w tonic and lime… No worries. I was just having 1. I ordered the garden salad w blue cheese dressing… Fresh and delicious. This was followed by a ribeye steak as big as my head and mashed sweet potato. I ordered the ribeye medium rare… It was freakin awesome. Now I must say that it was charbroiled somewhere between rare and medium rare. This was NO problem for me, but if my wife had been with me she would have been put off. No visible blood… Just good and dark red! The mashed sweet potato was fine, but due to the fact that I was bound and determined to get this steak in me belly, I left much of it on the plate. So much food. Enjoyed a house Merlot with the steak… Lovely. Reasons for 4 stars… Tonic v soda… Rare v medium rare. My meal and dining experience was excellent.

Good, not great. Better value can be found elsewhere. It seems to be a popular local spot(and I can see why) but I will not go out of my way to visit again — definitely not a place I recommend you seek out but if you’re driving by you can certainly do worse. Again, it’s not bad but a bit pricey for what is received.

They have really stepped their game up. I ONLY go here for large group lunches with my co-workers. Last time we went we had terrible service and there was an issue about getting bread. They wanted to charge us for it even though it’s free with your meal. When we asked for the manager she wouldn’t even come to the table. This time our servers were great! Our orders were correct and it was overall a much better experience than the 1st time I went.

Here again with a small group from work. For me: the Chicken finger salad preceded by a bowl of French Onion Soup. The soup is quite good. I found it deliciously rich, hearty and loaded with onions, cheese and The chicken finger salad is my favorite salad here. The chicken is delicious. A light beer batter with tender, juicy white meat inside. Greens were fresh with abundant tomatoes, cucumber and grated cheese. Awesome service, never a glass less than ½ empty and happy, fun atmosphere that make Malone’s my favorite Airport are/Virginia Ave place for great food and a cold beer.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. The food is out of this world! The atmosphere: comfortable for small or large groups. Casual, but busy. The service: Jasmine was the best and most attentive server ever. She was so friendly and personable and she was busy, busy, but was good at getting our food and drinks to us. The food: I had fried green tomatoes. First time I’ve ever had them. Fantastic! Then, the main course, Spicy shrimp and grits(can’t remember the exact name). let me tell you, SUPER spicy and super good. Dessert was the southern comfort soaked pecan pie. Absolutely decadent. Can’t say enough good things about this place.
