We hosted a casual reception for a group of 65 people at the Loft last month and it was absolutely horrible. Everything that could have gone wrong did. From the beginning, the«courtesy officer» was dressed in all black with the word security on his chest. He was not very approachable or helpful. The parking was very limited – we thought that since they hosted events there would be plenty of parking, but that was not the case. Our guests circled several times and ended up parking down the street. There was absolutely no lighting or signage to find the Loft, so many of our guests got back in their cars and left! Once inside, the entire venue was dingy and dirty. The floor was sticky and there was an awful odor throughout. There were mop buckets with stagnant water and things just kind of shoved in corners. The service staff was miserable and either hated us or their jobs. The two passing the food were also doing other jobs in between passing food – coming in from outside with jugs of condiments or something. The bartender was on her phone the entire night when she wasn’t walking through the group to go on break with all of her belongings. Not to mention, they were serving us out of plastic cups because there wasn’t enough glasses for everyone. The food looked horrible and the servers were wearing plastic gloves. The house music was the use of the manager’s phone, which kept ringing and interrupting the music, plugged into a speaker with cords everywhere. I could go on and on. It appears to me that the pictures online are when the venue was very new and heavily decorated by guests. Beware that it does NOT look like the pictures online. The worst part about the entire event is one of guests had her car vandalized. There is nothing redeeming about the Loft and I would suggest hosting any event elsewhere.

This is a good event space for either medium or large sized events. You can rent the whole place or just a slice of it. It’s not in the safest of neighborhoods but you can hire a courtesy officer to keep an eye on the door and the parking lot. You can also add on services like a valet and a coat check. The space is very trendy. One part of the space as tables and chairs and another has lounge-type couches and chairs. The food selection(you must use their catering and bar) is interesting and diverse. Everything tasted fine, but I will say a couple things seemed like perhaps they went on over to the frozen section at Costco and ran with it. Acoustics were pretty good for the DJ so that worked out well. Overall, despite the location, cheap food, and small parking availability I would recommend this space for someone looking for a trendy space that’s not super expensive and has probably everything you need for whatever sized party you have.
