Alright guys. Time to get serious about a few issues. Highlights: waiting for our table for 10 people, the bar took SUCH good care of us. They got my friends drinks, they brought an appetizer or two(OMGTHOSEFRIEDPIMENTOHUSHPUPPIES)… And such great customer service ATTHEBAR.(This portion of our experience was the only deserving part of the ONE star.) Cut to the table… I have never been so disrespected at a restaurant INMYLIFE! It was a Monday night, they weren’t that busy. Our waiter was SO slow to get us our appetizers and waiting for us to eat all of our appetizers to then order our meal. Which in some case, is super nice when you were going to order the biggest thing on the menu and decided to go smaller. But then, while I was ordering, I shit you not, the waiter walked away to help a table full of businessmen. WHILE I WASORDERING! Came back and said, Continue. I along with all of my coworkers were HORRIFIED. I ordered the sirloin, which was so unbelievably gross. It was cooked perfectly, but they put chopped dill ALL over it! WHODOESTHAT?! I could barely eat it! The main things that were edible about this meal were those hush puppies and the cheesy popover type bread. I honestly don’t ever need to come back here, but everyone else seems to like it. Maybe just an off night for my crew.

Had the pleasure of checking out King+Duke on a business trip to ATL with clients(their pick), and it was great! We started with drinks on the patio(I recommend the Horse’s Neck) while they prepared our room/table. The bartenders and servers were all incredibly attentive starting here and throughout our meal; outstanding service beginning to end! I ordered the dry-aged, bone-in, Prime KC Strip with mushrooms and jus, and a side of frittes. The steak was awesome, cooked to a perfect medium rare with a nice sear on the outside and juicy on the inside. The mushrooms and jus combo was just enough to know that it was there without taking anything away from the natural beef flavor. While it was very good, I’ve had as good(or maybe slightly better) steaks at a lower price point than the $ 50+ for this strip. I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert and it was incredible(the best I’ve had away from Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas). The cake was dense and gooey, sweet with just the slightest hint of salt, and the caramel drizzle was awesome. Highly recommend. All things considered, King+Duke was an incredible experience, just not quite as incredible as the price tag would lead you to believe.

I recently had dinner with my in laws here and it was amazing! As soon as we sat down we were trying complimentary snacks and bourbon flights. Our waitress was attentive but not pushy and she really knew the menu and the restaurant. I was very impressed! I had a tequila cocktail with jalapeño and pork for dinner, everything was delicious! The place is not cheap but that’s not a surprise for Buckhead, still I’d go back for a nice date night. Parking is valet but you have to get it validated with the host. There’s indoor and outdoor seating both seemed lovely. Its a little tricky to get to because you can see it from the road but you have to drive around the back of another restaurant to get to the valet. Overall I can’t wait to go back!

One of the better restaurants I have been to on either coast. Innovative, flavorful and the service and skill of the servers was amazing. The entire experience, from the entirely wood fired kitchen to the desserts was terrific. Definitely going to come back.

LOVE this restaurant! I dined here last Thursday, for the very first time, and will be back this Thursday. It was 6 o’clock and the place was relatively full. Our waitress was beyond great. She was very patient and friendly. We probably took close to 20 minutes to order food. As a matter of fact, every staff member we encountered exhibited top-notch hospitality. I’ll definitely be re-ordering the smoky wings as they are to dieeeee for. P. S. The patio/outside seating arrangement is awesome. Maybe I’ll give it a try this time around.

Summary: They have amazing bread. Buttermilk salad is simple, but amazing. Beef Tartare is high quality and good. The prime rib and crab legs were a good price while tasting amazing. The smores tart with salted caramel goodness doesn’t taste like smores but still an amazing dessert. King+Duke was an amazing experience! It can be hard to get reservations, but we got lucky with ONE table left in the 15 minutes after we checked reservations. So we booked it and ran. We got there a little late, but it was okay. It was raining outside so we sat at a table inside, but it looked like outside seating would have created a nice ambience. The inside ambience was still great though. Our server was pretty good. Everyone there was really nice. Our meal started off with amazing bread. It was flaky and buttery and an amazing adventure. I got to ride that ride twice: P. I got a non-alcoholic drink called«Truer than True» which was amazing! It was like an italian soda with fresh strawberry and rhubarb. It was sweet and fresh. Justin got a drink called«The High Horse» or something which was kind of like a bourbon/moscow mule. It was strong, but still great. For appetizers, after contemplating and wanting basically everything we decided on the buttermilk salad and the beef tartare. Both were amazing! The buttermilk salad doesn’t look like anything special from the menu, but it had a subtle buttermilk dressing and the spices that were put on the avocado were great. The avocados were fresh and it was great to see something so simple done so amazingly. We proceeded onto our dinner which we split the prime rib with potatoes and a crab leg. It came with two really bold sauces and the sauces were a ride in itself. The spices with the prime rib mixed with their spice-butter was amazing. The potatoes that came with it were really hearty and it had a good horseradish sauce. Even though we were pretty full, we still couldn’t resist a dessert. We ended up choosing the smores tart out of all the great choices. This dessert was savor-every-moment amazing. It didn’t taste anything like smores to me, but the salted caramel with the chocolate tart and subtle-marshmallow-ice cream tasted really great. We thoroughly enjoyed this place and definitely want to come back for more!

Yorkshire bread(free bread service) — Deeeeelicious. Id say it’s my favorite other than the focaccia w/whipped ricotta(served at St. Cecilia down the street) Crispy Sticky Wings– Tasty. I will probably go for something new next time(It was my second time having wings from K+D– they were better the 1st time around.) Avocado Toast– Fresh, filling. I almost would have rather had a salad(perhaps my mood). Sirloin w/chimichurri and fries– Amazing. Im not a huge steak person, but it was perfectly tender(prepared medium) and the fries didn’t need ketchup. Trout– Great to balance out the steak. Very tasty. Peas and Asparagus(truffle aioli) — Immaculate. I never knew I could like peas so much! The aioli was the perfect compliment. I couldnt decide which dish(during the entrée course) was best. Previously Ive had the duck(may have been prepared differently than what is on the current menu) — not worth the wait or money. Sticky Toffee Pudding– Pretty much their staple dessert. A «must-have» the first time you go. STRAWBERRYTRESLECHES– I put it in caps for a reason. Pretty much the perfect dessert(if you like tres leches) after you’ve stuffed your face the way we did. All of Chrysta’s desserts(she is the pastry chef for the Rocket Farm Restaurants) are amazing. Ive never tried one that wasn’t.

Came back for my second visit today with my fiancée for Mothers Day(although secretly I really came back to take on «The King») and was not disappointed. We were taken care of by Matt this time and he took extremely good care of us to make it a special night. To start we had the Shrimp a la Plancha(which my fiancée loved) and the Spicy Fried Black Rice. We let Matt pair some wines for our meal and he made some phenomenal selections. For entrées we had to go with«The King» because a.) It’s a kilo of prime ribeye and b.) it come with 2 bone marrow shanks!!! The steak was cooked perfectly and my fiancée could not believe how tender the ribeye was. Sadly I could not finish the meal but was extremely satisfied with our dinner. All in all, the night was a success. I will definitely continue to be coming back to King + Duke time and again. Also, I look forward to branching out and seeing what Ford Fry’s many restaurants have to offer.

OMG! The King is insane. Almost 40oz of bone-in rib eye. Paired with a massive pair of bone marrow. Served on a wood board. If your mission is to finish this feast I advise to skip appetizer and go straight for the meat. With the help of my client i was able to finish it. Great happy hour selection! Up beat and lively.

I was very disappointed with the meat portion of my steak Tar Tar meal. If you look at my pictures of the meal, you can see for yourself. I have these 4 huge slices of bread but the steak is literally a spoonful. That’s very disappointing for a consumer when you pay 20 bucks for lunch plus drinks. I’m not big on the carbs like most people who want to watch their weight so I am still very hungry. I’m sitting here looking for another place to eat for lunch.

Had a wonderful date night with my wife last night. We have been on a steak kick throughout ATLs top restaurants and it was King+Duke for their«The King». Atmosphere: This place was one of the coolest establishments I have had the pleasure of visiting here in Atlanta. I did not have any problems finding street parking but we did make an early reservation. The lay out of the restaurant was awesome. I loved the old school book shelf and ladder near the bar seats and the way the place opened up. The décor and art on the walls made this a fun date spot. The music was classic rock, but not too loud you couldn’t hear your date. We loved everything about it. Service: Exquisite. Promptly seated in and area that wasn’t overly crowded like other restaurants seem to do in the area. We had water and Yorkshire pudding pudding instantly. The staff was friendly and incredibly polite. All questions answered and even asked if we need more Yorkshire pudding throughout the meal(some places wouldn’t do that — you’d have to ask). Top notch. We were even thanked by over 10 different staff on our walk out after dinner. Pimento Cheese Hushpuppies: These might ruin hushpuppies for you afterwards, but they are so worth it. They are ham hushpuppies, fried to perfection with an awesome crunch, but not burnt. They after accompanied by delicious pimento cheese and a delicious sweet+savory sauce. A definite must order. $ 5 Baby Beets and Carrots: The veggies stole the show. I do not know how they were prepared but they were bursting with flavor. The harissa and whipped feta were so good. $ 9 Horseradish Fingerling Potatoes: Nothing special here. Just fingerling potatoes with a little horseradish sauce on the side. These actually massively disappointed us. To see such flair and taste combinations with the hush puppies and veggie platter, we didn’t eat more than a couple bites. Wouldn’t order again.(Did catch price as they were a side with the special of the day) «The King»: 1 kilo prime ribeye. Cooked to perfection and sliced. Presented on a wooden board with two huge bone marrow canoes. This did not disappoint. Our cut did happen to have a large fatty chunk in it that was disappointing since it took up a large portion of our steak. We have ordered similar dishes at other restaurants and we commented that this cut was the worst we had. The bone marrow on the meat you heaven! The jus was good, but I sticked to the marrow over my meat. So delicious! $ 87 All in all, definitely a spot I would go to again for a date night. Am looking forward to coming back and hanging out by the outdoor bar. But the fatty piece of meat, and potatoes drop this review from a 5 star to a 4 star. Even the fabulous service and atmosphere couldn’t save it.

Great place to come for either the bar or fine dining. Decided to come on a Monday night bringing mostly out of Towners. Not only Was the service exceptional that food Was also amazing! We ordered the trout, mahi mahi, pork and ribeye along with Brussels sprouts, califlower, shrimp appetizer and pimento Cheese fritters. Everything was amazing and the service was on point. No detail left out. We finished with the pecan pie and carrot cake with expressos. The pecan pie was out of this world

I’m pretty satisfied with this place… came here for my birthday dinner with me and the bf. Parking — They have self parking and Valet. K&D can validate for valet, but we were just too lazy to do it. On the way out of the deck, their ticket machine was broken, so we weren’t charge. Free $ 10 parking, woop! Service — I think I had Elise. She was stellar. Gave us enough time to choose & let us relax during dinner. I feel like K&D is a place to have a chill dinner. Not a «get your food and go» kind of place. I also liked the fact other servers were walking around and making sure everyone in my area was good to go. Environment — Definitely a nice date place or special occasion. I’ve heard lots about K&D but never thought to go here. I’m more of a midtown or BuHi person I suppose. But from walking to leaving, the entire place lit up with nice touches. The bar, the group tables, the upstairs for more of an intimate setting, and the décor … all looked fantastic. Food: Crispy Sticky Wings — Get these as an app. Comes in 4s. The sauce was absolutely delicious and a little spicy — had a nice zing. The chicken meat itself was falling off the bone since it was done so well. MMMM. I’m drooling. I saw EVERY table near me get them. I know at fancy places people don’t want to get their hands dirty so early, but man, you’re missing out. I’d come back to K&D just for this. I’d even get these if I were here for a Happy Hour as a snack. Sirloin with Young Potatoes — My steak came out smelling amazing. They cut it into 4s & put some dark green sauce on it. Whatever it was, tasted damn good. I ate my entire steak. The meat was juicy and I could tell the ingredients used had great flavor. Instead of the fries, I got the Young Potatoes — add Rosemary to anything, and I’ll eat it. The potatoes form actually surprised me, I was expecting random chunks. But thankfully, the mini potato(balls?) were much better and suited for this dish. They gave me so many. I had to take some home. Oh — the complimentary breads with butter — it was okay. But hey it’s complimentary!

My boyfriend surprised me with a night out by making reservations at King+Duke. Great food, great drinks and terrific service. Here’s what we had: Coal Roasted Onion Soup: This is K+D’s take on French Onion Soup. Very savory and rich from the broth and the melted cheese. My favorite part is always the bread/croûton and cheese on any of these kinds of soups. If you’re a fan of the actual soup, there’s not too much of it. It’s a nice start to the meal. Spicy Black Fried Rice with Squid: One of my favorites from the evening. It doesn’t look like much, but it’s so good because of the crispy fried rice which is black from squid ink. It reminds me of Korean bibimbap. Georgia Trout: Not a single bone on this fish and it really surprised me. Basically, the trout is stuffed. It’s interesting to me how«fluffy» the fish flesh was so it almost acts like rice with the vegetables served with the fish. Not much flavor so it’s definitely for those who are seeking a healthy food option, but it’s not something I would get again. Surf + Turf special: This was a special of the night that my boyfriend ordered. It’s a prime rib cut with a crab leg. The crab leg has been pre-cracked so it’s easy to eat. This dish comes with their famous spicy melted brown butter and also with a jus glaze that seem to be on the sweet side. I think there’s molasses in this jus. The prime rib was very well-seasoned from the bite I tried. Eggplant Caponata: This was a side dish that was really strong in flavor. If you don’t like small anchovies, this isn’t for you. It’s got some interesting texture to it and yet it gets really sweet. When I ate this, I only wished the flavor could be taken a notch down. We had so much leftover from this, that we took it home and I ended up using it like a pasta sauce to downplay the flavor. I wouldn’t get this again. Roasted Mushrooms on Toast: This came out differently than I imagined. Really creamy, and earthy from different kinds of mushrooms. It’s kind of odd to have this as a side dish when I feel like it could be a appetizer or an entrée because it’s served on toast. While I appreciated it, it’s not something I would get again because of how rich it is. The cocktails at K+D are executed well. I laugh because unsurprisingly I got a non-alcoholic cocktail called The Devil and Miss Prym. It was a sweet and refreshing peach drink. I almost wish there was some alcohol in it, but if you have friends who don’t like alcohol, there are at least 3 cocktails on the menu for them. There’s also a Chapter 7 drink which is a 007 reference — it’s served in a glass reminiscent of the Vespers cocktail in Casino Royale. It’s a little dark in there unless you sit near a window while it’s still bright outside, but I like the décor: bookshelves, interesting artwork(including a moonwalking Stormtrooper if you look behind the hostess’ booth), and casual. Overall, the food, I think, is more like 3.5 stars, but I’m bumping it up to a 4 because of the service. Our waiter was attentive, funny and knowledgeable about all the food prepared there and even told us about the chef’s tasting you can do if you reserve ahead of time, or even how there is a loft space for small events. Parking is ample with the paid lot or valet, but I’d recommend the valet since tis’ more surprisingly more economical because it’s validated. I’d come back again to try other items on the menu. For being a Buckhead restaurant, it’s surprisingly not too pretentious here.

This is an absolutely divine brunch spot. The only reason I’m taking off a star is that their parking validation was unclear and I ended up dropping $ 10 on parking. So — read the signs, especially before imbibing! But back to the food. It’s fresh, flavorful and has options for every palate. Want something southern inspired? Something sweet? Something healthy? You got it, dude. Their ‘James and the Giant Peach’ cocktail was perfect, but they have a ton of other good looking drinks to choose from. I went with a large group so I got a chance to try the cinnamon roll, the deviled eggs, the salmon cakes and the chicken fried chicken — all so wonderful. I’d recommend coming here in a group(it’s not a hassle to split the bill) so that you get a chance to taste several different things. YUM!
