Let me just say I believe that the food at JJs is sprinkled with crack! That’s how damn good it is… not that I’ve had crack before lol. Anyways it was my first time at this location because I usually go to the one on metropolitan but I just found that this one is close to my job! I’d been craving fried fish and I definitely got my fix! I ordered the wing and 2 pc. tilapia dinner. Seasoned to perfection and fried beautifully! They come with fries, bread, and a drink. They really stuff the box. I paid $ 2 extra to get the peach lemonade and it was definitely worth it. Great combo. I brought my coworker and she fell in love with the first bite of her fish nuggets and wings. Disclaimer: the place isn’t the most appealing but you’re there for the food and not the décor. Also, you will definitely feel like a fat cow after eating. Lol. I was full but kept eating because the food was so good. Smh. This definitely isn’t healthy eating but everybody deserves a lil grease every now and then.

Great, hot, fried food! I’ve had the gizzards, whole wings, ocean perch, whiting, fries, frozen lemonade… and it’s always good. It stays crowded, so call ahead if you’re in a rush.

Arrived at 10pm to locked doors. They close at midnight. Someone waiting on the inside let us in, then someone from behind the counter(Chef? Fry cook? Cashier?) yells that the lobby is closed. He tells us to use the drive-thru. Ummm, what?! Wait in a drive-thru for orders with cooking times of at least 10 minutes?! Luckily for us there was already a line of at least 8 cars just sitting there. Their food? I dont know. Went somewhere else tonight. But normally– when they’re acting like a normal business– it is really good. Usually when I have the patience to deal with the nonsense of it all– I enjoy a shrimp combo and a dessert. Get it together JJ’s.

I haven’t been in a good minute but the few times that I did go, the food was great! I love it here!

Good olé hood food. For 9.99 I had the fish and shrimp platter with onion rings instead of fries. It was a platter of fried oily goodness with some type of white seasoning I’m going to call crack because despite the obvious unhealthiness of the meal I will definitely be back.

I stopped by here the other day to grab a fish sandwich. I was disappointed with my sandwich due there was still flour on the fish. I requested another sandwich and caught an attitude from counter person but they gave me another sandwich. I watched closely to make sure no one spit in my food. The sandwich was average. On a positive note, I have refrained from eating anymore fried foods.

I loved JJ’s when I lived in Chicago, so I was excited to hear there was one in Atlanta. It almost taste the same and they actually have pizza puffs here. A lot of people don’t even know what that is but trust me when I said it’s delicious. I would recommend calling in your order first and getting a lemonade

The whiting fish was meaty, fresh & not oily. The fries are seasoned and the shrimps are plump and fresh. I even ate the hot sauce & coleslaw and I am extra picky

I am currently in this place for the 1st time. There are 12 people waiting on orders while the cook… a lady is arguing on the phone which is a personal conversation using profanity and screaming as if she at home. This will more than likely be my 1st and last time at this place. I haven’t even taste the food yet…

I had a craving for fried fish served«the hood» way — that means fish fileted and fried to perfection served with two slices of white bread, mustard and hot sauce. I googled«best fried fish in Atlanta» and this place popped up with rave reviews, so I made the 40 minute drive from Dunwoody to Pryor Street. They only serve«fish and chips» on my side of town and I needed an old ghetto«samwich» to hit the spot. This place is located next to a gas station right off of 85 on Pryor Rd. If you can get past the mix of shady characters walking around, the police officer in regular clothing posted up at the convenience store to «deter» crime, and just the overall backdrop of crime and poverty, you are in for a treat. They’ve got a large menu of fish, shrimp, wings, and other delicious items to choose from that’s fried with some sort of tasty powdery substance sprinkled on top. Oh and the fries, all I have to say is yessss! My order of red snapper and fries was well worth the drive. I’m not sure I’ll go outta my way to visit again, because it’s so far, but certainly recommend for anyone with a craving for real fried fish cooked and served the hood way;-)

Good place to make a pit-stop for food on the way to the Atlanta Airport. Fish dinner for $ 7 came with ½ lb. trout, lots of fries, and cole slaw — very fair price. Fish was good and the hot sauce is great here. Only complaint is that it was a 15 min wait.

We ordered 2 chicken and gizzards meals on the phone but when we got there they made us gizzards and shrimp. We told them it was alright and we’d just take it but they gave us 6 wings no charge along with the gizzards and shrimp. The food was great especially the shrimp.

This place has amazing chicken fingers! OMG! They make everything to order so don’t expect to be in and out quick. It is worth the wait! This is our go to joint when needing evening munchies! We live in grant park now so can’t go as often as we use to, but it’s still a favorite! Cole slaw and fries are both awesome! It’s always packed and sketchy folks around the gas station but the food is AWESOME!!! We have only had the chicken finger plate but they are huge and amazing! The staff is always nice and they try to be as fast as possible!!! This is definitely a place to try out if you are in the area!!! Lock your car doors though!!!

Everything is fried. Everything. :-(Fish is flavorful. Chicken is bland. Service is poor. I’ve been there about 4X and most likely will not return.

Food is cooked to perfection! Very consistent with food having the same great taste each visit. Portions are large, haven’t finished a meal from here in one sitting yet. Their banana pudding is perfect. Call in first, so you’ll be in and out. Call in orders stop at 10pm

I had such high hopes. I finally had the opportunity to stop at the ghetto famous JJs. Blah. That was the first word that came to mind street only one bite of my fried fish. All I tasted was fresh flour. What happened to the seasoning man? The grits where good but I didn’t come for the fries… They had plenty of seating inside, a small tv in the corner, and very little parking.

JJ’s SHOWED me. I had been side-eyeing this place for a couple of months. I always saw lots of cars and traffic, but I admit, due to the sketchy surroundings(it’s the gas station next door, I have come to figure out that gives JJ’s a bad rep) I had no interest in going near the place. Last night, I wanted something different, and couldn’t think of anything. I did a Unilocal search, and up popped JJ’s, as usual. Mmmm. Fried fish. I took a Unilocalers advice, and called. I got the 3pc. Perch with Corn Fritters. The lady was friendly, and said 15 minutes. By the time I fought through traffic, it was ready. I walked in, and the place was SPOTLESSLYCLEAN! It smelled nice, tables nice, floors clean, no riff raff hanging around, and they even have a sign up supporting the kids in school program: weekdays from 8am-2pm school age kids are not allowed to loiter in the restaurant. I appreciate that. I was waited on by the owner, herself! How do I know? Because her earrings said, «BOSS». I was honored. She was quite nice to me. When I got home, and bit into my perch, it was like HEAVEN! I haven’t had fish this good since I left Texas 18 years ago! Good LAWDAMIGHTEE! I am HOOKED, SOLD, and DELIVERED! The CORNFRITTERS are the right size and delicious, too. My new spot! TIP: You absolutely MUSTCALLAHEAD!(even if you plan to eat inside)

Currently waiting to see what’s the big hype about this place. The lines here is very long. I guess it’s a hit people coming in & out. The smell is so refreshing. The cashier is attractive ! They have everything from fish, to gizzards, oysters, scallops, clam, pizza puff, frozen lemonade a you name it. Desserts such as banana pudding peach cobbler. When i say this grease filled food was touching my SOULYASSSGAWDHONEY! This hole in the wall is doing real good.
