Poor representation of authentic Jamaican food. I wouldn’t have left this review if the owner hadn’t assured me everything was safe to try. So disappointed!

Great food! This is my go-to spot for jerk chicken! I don’t get gravy on the chicken as the chicken is good on its own. Oxtails are decent too and the cheapest in town. If ordering jerk chicken or oxtails, food comes out very quickly. There is usually a wait for the jerk fried rice.

Great comfort food. We tried the oxtail and brown sauce with rice and bean. Chicken is tender with a hint of sweetness to it and cooked just right. Oxtail is in decent portion. If you are looking for Jamaican dishes in the neighborhood, this is the only one(still open).

Best Jamaican food I have tasted so far. I love their jerk chicken, jerk patty and brown stew. And when I want something sweet, I go for their sweet plantain. This is a place I go on the regular.

I stopped in here for lunch because I saw Oxtails on the menu. I ordered my octails so to go with rice & cabbage. It was AMAZING!!! So tender and juicy. I will be coming back to Jamrock.

I come here to eat lunch on some Fridays since I work downtown by the government buildings. The food is great! I like that I can order a lunch special and get dinner portions. I always go for the jerk wings and jerk chicken fried rice. I’ve never been disappointed. Check it out the next time you’re down near the Underground.

Disgusting. Unauthentic Jamaican cuisine. The brown stew isn’t brown stew at all, its a too sweet tomato based sauce, just terrible. The curry is ok but leaves much to be desired. The peas and rice are flavorless. When you order the lunch special you’re going to get a heaping plate of legs. All legs, no other part of the chicken at all. Which means the weight of your plate is mostly bones and gristle. And be careful my co worker’s food was completely under-cooked, her chicken had blood in it. The people who like this place are people who have never had authentic Jamaican cuisine. I grew up in a city heavily influenced by Jamaican culture with a huge Caribbean population. I’ve been eating Caribbean food since I can remember and this was not good.

This place is pretty good, especially the Hottie Hottie sandwich. The restaurant is a small gem in a busy downtown area. They have authentic Island cuisine that’s not lacking in flavour.

That hotty hotty sandwhich was really good — fresh soft bread with turkey bacon, green peppers, onions cheese, and jerk chicken. It was suppose to come with special sauce but I asked that to be left off because I can be a little partial about special sauces and didn’t want the sandwich to be soggy or too spicy. I was taking the good home so wanted to make sure the sandwich traveled well. The sandwich was hot, fresh and satisfying. The jerk chicken had enough kick to it that wasn’t overbearing and had great flavors. The combination of the sauté onions and peppers with the fresh bread and turkey bacon was delicious. The hotty hotty came with basic fries — The portion was a good amount. The sandwich was cut in to half’s and the meal could be shared if you want a light snack. I ate the other half of the sandwich latter on and it was great. Not soggy and still delicious. This is a great morning sandwich or afternoon treat. The goat curry is very good too. It has the right enough spices and taste as if it’s a home cooked recipe passed down from someone’s mother. The location looks as if it is hidden but it’s a hidden gem. This spot is nice modern and clean on the inside.

Went here for lunch since I work nearby. Never again! Food was awful! My plantains were overcooked. Jerk Chicken and Rice was just not good at all. Service is slow. My order was skipped over so I had to wait even longer. I will not be returning anytime soon. I have Jamaican friends and have experienced authentic Jamaican food. I want to rename this to… Jam Not!

This is a good find for eats around the downtown courthouse. I always order the same thing — shrimp poboy and fries. Wheat bread is good and the veggies are always fresh. My only gripe is that they really skimp on the shrimp. I counted about 7 on my 8 inch hoagie. Next time I go, may have to kick up a fuss about the meager portions.

Scam alert!(Bait & Switch): These people are jerks, just like their chicken. Unilocal is showing«$ 2 off all entrees to cry for» for this restaurant by checking in and showing the check-in offer to employee or owner to redeem it. However, the owner declined to accept this offer, claiming that they don’t know anything about it and don’t even know what Unilocal is! How could you not know what Unilocal is when you had to officially register your business and any special offers with them first. This is fraud! Beware!!!

I work nearby and I was happy to discover this place. Lucky for me, I’m strategic. I go to lunch at 11 before the rush cause I know their service is a little slow. But the food is great. They have a great menu. I usually get the Mini Jerk Chicken. But they have assortments like fried rice, sandwiches, and of course patties. I tried other Jamaican based Caribbean places in the neighborhood, but Jamrock really beats them when it comes to pricing. Give it a try, but if you go between 12 and 2, be prepared to wait a little.

Food is great but the service is S… L…O…W! I called my order in and was told it would be ready in 12 minutes. I was warned by a coworker to give it a little extra time because«it takes a while» so I arrived 20 minutes after my call and still had to wait another 20 minutes. However, they have catered a couple of meetings for our office meetings and was very punctual with excellent customer service.
