Great Clips

I’ve come to this Great Clips a few times. In the past when I’ve had a stylist named Joyce, she was amazing. She knew exactly what I wanted for my hair. She explained each tool and what it would do for my hair before using it on me. Whenever I had other stylists, they would mess up my hair cut. She had to come over once and save my hair from another stylists. She saw how uncomfortable I was, and I didn’t know how to tell the woman to stop. I don’t like hurting people’s feelings, so I’m terrible at telling people when I don’t like something. Joyce has always been wonderful to me. I didn’t know she had left this Great Clips. I probably wouldn’t have went in today if I had. She’s the reason there are two stars and not one.
I’ve spent a year growing out my hair, trimming it, styling it, and getting it just the way I love. I wanted the length and style for my sister’s wedding next month and for a professional event I’ll be attending for work. It was down to my chin and cut so the bangs swooped to the side and framed my face. It was getting a bit long, so I went to get it trimmed today.
When I got to Great Clips, I didn’t see Joyce. I was a bit nervous, but since it was just a trim, it would be okay. I figured they could follow the style that was already there.
I told the person specifically not to cut the parts by my face, trim up the back, and take some of the bulk out of the bangs. I even told the person to start long, and if we needed to go shorter we could. The biggest problem is I can’t see when I get haircuts, because I have to take off my glasses.
The person butchered my hair. They absolutely destroyed it. The side parts were completely gone. Where my hair was down to my chin was cut all the way up to my ears. They shaved the back of my hair where there was a clear line across my head, and it was a bowl cut the entire way around. There was no more swoop to my bangs. I finally told the person to stop, because I didn’t want it any shorter. I was incredibly upset. They didn’t start longer like I had asked for. They just chopped right into my hair I worked a year to get. I was in tears. I loved the style I had before, and it’s gone. I was incredibly embarrassed to go next door to Kroger afterward, because I felt so ugly.
I tried to google Joyce to see if she was at another location. I came across her old Great Clips on Sugarloaf. She wasn’t there anymore, but they said all the people there had over 10 years of experience.
Twenty minutes later, they saved my hair the best they could. The side parts that were by my chin before were so short they couldn’t cut them anymore to shape it. The Sugarloaf group were great, and my hair is okay. I’m terribly upset over the loss of a year of work, and not having the hair I wanted for my sister’s wedding. To make it worse, I’m attending an event a week after the wedding for work. The style I had before gave me so much confidence, and I felt beautiful with it. Now I have to speak to large groups and meet actors from television feeling pretty ugly. Hopefully it will grow enough in a month to take care of it or at least style it. I’m never ever going back to this Great Clips again.
