I had this for the first time last week and it was to die for!!! I love the hot subs with toasted bread. The freestyle coke machine was a plus. The staff was super friendly and the wait wasn’t long. Will definitely be back!

Their meatball subs are quite tasteless and plain. It’s like you’re eating air. The marinara sauce is also bland. You shouldn’t have to go home and hook up the sandwich on your own. They need to go back to the drawing board on this. I remember regularly enjoying the meatball subs 3 years ago. I wonder what happened.

It’s a busy Firehouse across 10th Street from Georgia Tech. The subs are consistently good and well made. There are also always customers in it which is good and bad. The bad because the parking lot is small when it’s shared with 6(?) other stores. Finding a spot during lunch on a weekday might be tough but doable. Once inside though there is ample seating, and they are pretty quick.

I drive across town often to fulfill my craving for a Firehouse Sub at this location. It’s located next door to Sublime Donuts outside the Georgia Tech Campus. I’m addicted to the Meatball sub, but I sometimes get the Hook and Ladder Sub. This location is always busy with college students and other patrons that makes eating in here disappointing. With all of the constant traffic they seem to have a difficult time keeping the dining room clean, i usually just get my subs to go to avoid having to clean my own table. The food prep area behind the counter is always clean and they always have enough staff to get your sub out quickly. I highly recommend the Meatball sub, it doesn’t have that food service quality meatball that you might be accustomed to from Subway. They are oversized and full of flavor. Glad we have a location within driving distance.

This is a really good place to get a quick sub if you’re near Georgia Tech. The place is clean and the employees are friendly. The subs are super tasty and they make them real fast. I am partial to the Firehouse Hero. Try it with their special sauce and you will understand what I am saying. It’s super crowded during lunch hour thanks to all the Tech students and staff. But even then they do a commendable job of getting the sub to you pretty quickly.

This Firehouse Subs is located in the small Tech Plaza strip mall at the corner of 10th St. NW and Hemphill Ave. NW(same place as Sublime Doughnuts) near Georgia Tech. Firehouse is a national chain of sub sandwich shops with a firefighter theme. The company was founded by firefighters. I’ve generally found Firehouse to be good. Of the chains, I put it on par with Jersey Mike’s and think it’s slightly better than Jimmy John’s and Which Wich. This Firehouse has a lot of local Atlanta firefighter touches. There’s a giant painting on the wall of Atlanta firefighters in front of an Atlanta fire truck with the Atlanta skyline(Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium, the Bank of America building, the AT&T building, etc.) in the background. Real Atlanta firefighter equipment is on display throughout the store. There’s even a book detailing the history of Atlanta firefighters. Like other Firehouse locations, the store is painted in red and white, just like a fire station. The tabletops have a black-and-white Dalmatian pattern. Firehouse specializes in hot subs with nearly 20 different varieties. Most subs are about $ 6 each and you can double their size by adding $ 2 to any sub. The large subs are huge and a good value. They’re ideal for sharing or for saving a half for later. I recommend the following subs: New York Steamer Sub — corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, Italian dressing Firehouse«Hero» Sub — roast beef, smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, melted provolone Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket — beef brisket, melted cheddar, special sauces All subs come on white or wheat bread and most come with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and onion with a dill pickle spear on the side. The bread is toasted and is soft. The ingredients are typically fresh and the quality is good, particularly the meats. The brisket is smoked for over 10 hours. Regular-sized subs are hearty and filling. Combos are $ 2 – 3 more per order and include a bag of chips(Doritos, Sun Chips, Miss Vickie’s, etc.) and a large fountain drink. All Firehouse stores use Coke Freestyle drink machines. These are the machines with touchscreens and over 120 different sodas to choose from. Try Firehouse’s suggestion and add fresh lime juice(from the supplied lime wedges) to a Cherry Lime-Aid. If you’re not feeling like having a sandwich, try the Chief’s Salad($ 5.99). I’ve had this a couple times. These are large, prepackaged salads that have romaine and iceberg lettuce, bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, tomato, provolone, sliced egg, and a choice of meat(ham, chicken, turkey, etc.). It’s not a bad salad — sufficiently fresh, crisp, and surprisingly quite filling. Generous portion size. Good, friendly service. Catering options are available. Parking is free, though spots might be hard to come by during weekdays when class is in session and all of the businesses are open. Parking isn’t nearly as bad during weeknights and weekends.

They gave my sub to another man, then the next sub they gave me had mayo when I asked for no mayo. Wait time took forever! It took 7 tries to get my sandwich correct. I wxaited for 1 ½ hours for a #10… Don’t order a #10!!!

I don’t know one person that I have brought here who doesn’t like it. Even my friend who took a sandwich home during Snow-magedon of 2014 and had to eat it soggy still said it was good. The customer service here is also better than some other Firehouse Subs I visited. My favorite sandwich is the Engineer!

I’m all for kitsch when it comes to fun sandwich concept places. The fireman theme is sorta cute, and I read that they do a lot for the community, but I was disappointed after making a special trip half-way across town. I’m not difficult to please when it comes to sandwiches, but the photos on their website didn’t look anything like the real thing. I ordered a medium«The Engineer» and the combo drink & chip. The total came to $ 8.95 – not bad, but I wish I had ordered the larger sandwich. There wasn’t anything special about the wheat bread. The meat and toppings were tasty, but the whole thing was kind of sloppily put together compared to the fast food sandwiches I’ve had at Potbelly’s and Jersey Mike’s. Beyond the standard tomato and lettuce, the only thing that might make this different from the other sandwiches on the menu would be various combinations of meat. The taste was pretty good, but, again… it’s just a sandwich and difficult to screw up a sandwich unless you use less than premium meats and cheeses. Their big selling point here is that the sandwiches come out hot. There’s a captive audience with this being right in the middle of at least one university and close to two others. Ten minutes after we started eating, at least 30 college kids rushed into the restaurant and swarmed the place. It was funny because when we first entered the restaurant, there were more employees than customers! Speaking of employees – I thought they were all friendly. Several asked where I was from, engaged me in conversation about the area, etc. Having pleasant employees made all the difference against the less than stellar sandwich. An extra half-star for them.

These folks have it down when it comes to customer service. The food and service make a sandwich joint and Firehouse fits both bills. Try the variety of complementary hot sauces to see how much you can take. My favorite is the meatball!

Today was not a usual experience at this location. Normally great service by all and great food, but there was one employee who genuinely made this meal maddening. She was rude at the counter and then out in the dining room she shoved a chair across the floor so hard it hit our table and knocked the chip out of my husbands hand! No sorry, excuse me, or anything. Insanely rude and that is such a shame because the rest of the staff was sweet and the food was awesome; they are the only things that saved this place from a one star review.

Easily my favorite of the sandwich chains. The sandwiches here actually taste like real sandwiches and not something out of some machine. I always get the club and it has great soft bread and tons of flavor from the meat and sauce. They’re more expensive than the two other big chains, but you can taste the quality. That, and the coke freestyle machine have me sold! Come here and you won’t go to those other guys.

Veggie sub – head and shoulders better than all other veggie subs. Wish all fast joints were as great as Firehouse.(Brownie oh brownie I like you I do). Little bit hard to park here but it has always worked out.

I love this place. It’s a bit of a drive from home, but when I’m craving a meatball sub, this is my go to place. It’s not usually crowded and parking is never an issue. The service can be pretty spotty at times, but not bad enough to deter me from coming here.

Firehouse is my favorite place to get a «fast food» sandwich — not a big fan of Subway or Jimmy John’s. Firehouse’s subs are tastier, the meats are better and they have an amazing wall of hot sauces to choose from(Georgia peach one is my fav!) They also have a really cool drink machine in this location. It’s fun to use!

This place has always been good. Love the taste of Firehouse Subs. Love the steamed bread, the good meats they use. And I love the fact they have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine at this location. I also love the fact that Sublime Donuts is next door, so that when I’m done, I can stop in and get a donut for my wife, which is worth like, a hundred brownie points. This place is great. Me likey.

Enter the mind of a sub snob from Atlanta: «I want fresh bread; I prefer that it’s toasted… Yes, I’m aware that I’m ordering a Value Meal. Don’t act like toasting bread is so d@mn difficult!» «I like the meat to be thinly sliced and I want a lot of meat.» «I like lettuce; it needs to be crisp… but don’t try to cheat me by piling more vegetables than meat. That’s not what I paid for!» «Yes, I want cheese! * WTF kind of question is that? *» «Don’t drench the sub in dressing; it will make my toasted bread soggy.» «The lady next to me just pointed *over* the sneeze guard. That defeats the purpose of the sneeze guard. Disgusting.» «I’m no longer hungry. My sub experience is ruined thanks to that.» I’ve replayed this internal monologue at countless sub shops until I found Firehouse Subs. Every single pet peeve I’ve had with sandwich shops was eliminated, wordlessly, by the staff at this location. Simply put, they know how to make a good sandwich. In fact, I’m willing to spray a Homepark criminal in the face with mace over a Firehouse Sub.(If you’ve been to this location after sundown, you know what I mean.) I will even kick a Homepark criminal in the groin on my way to the futuristic Coke machine inside. Yes, the sandwiches and the drinks are that awesome. Just bring a weapon so that you can protect your valuables(i.e. the sub and your custom Coke.)

As far as chain sandwich places go, Firehouse is pretty much the best in Atlanta. It is consistently better than Quizno’s, Subway, and Jimmy John’s by, while still being relatively fast food. I’ve had a couple of the subs here, and I’d recommend the New York Steamer. I’ve had the meatball sub too, and that ones pretty great, but the NY steamer just has a very good mixture of flavor that is unmatched by other places of the same caliber. The staff here is also pretty nice, and as of recently they have a nifty new-age coke machine in the corner, which is an interesting sight at the least. The décor for the place isn’t bad either.

This place is just okay. I went there when I had some time to kill before getting a tattoo and I hadn’t eaten anything. The first thing that annoyed me was the menu posted on the wall gave no details about what came on each sub. I’m a vegetarian so the basis is easy, but I like to know what condiments do or don’t come standard. There was no line, so I placed my order fairly quickly. However, it took forever for them to get my sandwich to me. It was probably close to 10 minutes before they finally handed it to me. The staff seemed more interested in arguing with each other than serving me. It’s all well and good to interact with your co-workers, but not at the expense of a waiting customer. The sub was totally slathered in mayonnaise. I don’t mind mayo, but it was ridiculous how much they’d put on it. I was wishing I’d known to ask for it without mayo. After I scraped off the excess mayo, the sub wasn’t bad. Essentially, I didn’t want to spit it out, but I also probably wouldn’t go back unless I had no other choices.
