So bummed. Really liked this place a lot. Me and my friends would always go there after playing ultimate frisbee. It was a weekly tradition. Then one day, it was just… closed …sniff… The people were friendly, the place was cool, the beer offerings were great and the pizza was very very good. Not the best I’ve had — two places are tied for first in my book but this place was in the tied-for-second grouping. Definitely better than Fellini’s although similar(owner used to work there but improved on it). Anyway, really bummed that they closed. Wished they had let people know so we could have gone out with a bang and packed the place to send em off with a little extra dough(pun intended). I hate seeing friendly, yummy, non-chain places like this close. We loved you Elwood’s!

I first ate at Elwood’s about three weeks after they opened and its always been one of my favorite pizza places. Sadly, they have closed their doors as of May. RIP Elwoods; your fans will always remember you.

Well… today I returned to Elwood’s Pizza. I was at Kroger again and I figured now is a good a time as any to give Elwood’s another shot. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door this time. That was kinda cool. There were a lot more people in there on this Tuesday afternoon than the previous Saturday afternoon of my initial visit. The guy that took my order was very nice. I ordered a slice of pepperoni. My slice was $ 2.50 +tx. You can’t beat that. It didn’t take long for my slice to come out. It was nice an hot. It looked like a normal slice of pepperoni. The cheese was fine. I took a bite and everything was good. It’s not the most fantastic pizza on earth but for these prices it’s definitely worth a visit. I would just stay far far away from the Walter. That was too much for me. I’m sure I will stop through here again. This experience was much better than my last one.

Oh Elwood, I wish you delivered!!! Your pizza is pretty good, your meatball calzones are great, and your customer service is friendly! The only problem is I have to put on pants to enjoy your cheesy saucy deliciousness. If this changed, I would be eating more pizza, and wearing pants less…

We usually come here after our runs in Brookhaven, so it’s convenient. Service is great but food is ok. FOOD: I had their house salad which is lettuce, mushroom, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, black and green olives. For a small bowl salad, $ 3.75 is a decent price. I also had their breadsticks which is a full pie size crust with a side of marinara sauce. It might be plain, but it’s very good. For the pizza, I had 2 mushroom slices which are large slices but soggy crust and tasteless sauce. Love the fact they have beer and wine.

Y’all know my reviews are usually a 1 or 5 star. Only then do I get motivated enough to write one! Went in on a very slow(no one in there) rainy Monday to get to-go for my bf and me. Left with 2 slices of reheated pizza that may have been sitting out since lunch and a brown and weirdly wet salad with hardly any veggies. Gross! Good thing we had a bag lettuce in the fridge at home. Very disappointed guys! Won’t be back, not with all the other options in the ‘hood! Will stick with Fellinis or gallas from now on!

My hubs and I have been going to Elwood’s consistently over the years on evenings we’re stuck in Buckhead. Good salads, pizza, and my husband loves their meatball subs. It’s never crowded, has a cute setup, the kids that work there are always pleasant. Nice place to stop for quick, casual, dining.

More Pizza reviews! I know you all hate me. This place is awesome. The venue is extremely clean and feels like a pizza shop. I went with a few co– workers the other day randomly and I am glad we did. The pizza selection is not that big but what they do have is pretty legit. I ordered two slices of their«thick» pizza. At first, I didn’t know what this meant. I love surprises. Anyway, when I got my slices they were huge and thick. I guess I should have figured. They were not the best pizza slices I ever had but they surely were enjoyable. The crust wasn’t very good but the actual pizza itself wasn’t so bad. Like I mentioned in other related reviews. I love pizza and I consider myself a connoisseur of the subject you could say… not being cocky or anything. I would recommend this place for anyone in the area. It is better than any of the other places around there and well worth the price.

Best pizza in Brookhaven(which is saying a lot — there are tons of pizza places!). The sauce and crust on these pizzas are perfection. I love«the works» — every time I’ve bought it for people to try, they ooh and ahh over it. I like to get a cheese calzone with half the cheese — so perfect with their yummy dipping sauce! This is a fantastic place to dine in at dinner. Lots of options in terms of beverages and comfy booths. So cute with the stripes and polka dots! This is also a great spot for lunch. The slices are huge and I love their salads — easy enough to split between two people. Their homemade Italian dressing is fantastic. We often get a salad and a pizza to go. I just keep their number in my phone so I can call in the order and go pick it up while I’m out. They always let me get my side of sauce for later dipping!

I have to say I’m a big fan when it comes to Elwood’s Pizza in Brookhaven. They not only have excellent pies, but also a good selection of brews as well. Last time I was in we also got a Greek salad which was very good. I highly recommend their white pie! I wouldn’t say Elwood’s is a place to party, but if you are looking for somewhere lowkey to hangout they have a pool table and pinball in the back. The one thing I really love about Elwood’s is that it reminds me of those little dive pizza places you find in college towns like Athens, order you pizza, salad, beer, or whatever at the counter; then you go sit down with your picture/number until it is brought out to you. If I wanted fine dining, I wouldn’t be eating pizza. :)

We weren’t impressed at all by the pizza. I had two slices of the pepperoni and it tasted like school cafeteria quality. The unfriendly service didn’t help things either. Some other reviewers say the calzones are good, so if I ever came back, I’d try that. But for actual pizza, you’re better off finding another restaurant.

The pizza is simply unremarkable. It has a very basic, generic taste. You’d be much happier buying a frozen pizza from Kroger next door. Their salads, however, are quite good.

I’m I fan after having some good food from Elwood’s over 3 visits that spanned about a year. Twice I had pizza and once I had a calzone to go. I agree with another review that the Calzone kicked their pizza’s arse and was one of the best I recall ever eating. The pizza was always hot, never a problem with waiting too long and the ingredients are piled on. Their beer selection is quite good too as I just tried the Dogfish Head Punkin Ale(I spelled that correctly) last week since we have just entered the Fall season. Finally, the location is just down the road from my house. another win… now, the one concern I have is how long they will stay open because they are NEVER crowded when I go there. cheers!

Elwood’s, a Blues Brothers-themed joint, uses real roasted garlic on slices. I had a slice of garlic and a slice of pineapple, and both were generously covered with the toppings I chose. By comparison, the pizza itself was a delivery mechanism. Serviceable, respectable, thin-crust pizza with enough structural integrity to stand up to big chunks of pineapple, but I’ll have to try a plain slice someday to see whether the pizza itself has much flavor. At $ 5.24 for two slices, with one topping each, including tax, Elwood’s won’t take too much away from your mission to pay $ 5,000 in orphanage back taxes. And it’s a good thing, because you’re on a mission from God.

This update — and the four stars — are for one very specific reason. Yesterday, I tried Elwood’s calzone. Seriously? Seriously?! Best one I’ve had locally. Big(enough for two meals, maybe two and a half!). Perfectly cooked outside. Fabulous spinach-mozz-ricotta ratio. Oh! It was hard not to eat the whole thing at once!

I decided I like Elwood’s salads even more than their pizzas — I had their salad for the first time, along with my usual spinach & mushroom«specialty» pizza slice. i think this was my 5th time here, and today I came with a large group. For just $ 3.75, you can get a bountiful bowl of salad — Garden, Caesar, or Greek. I got the Greek and loved that everything in my bowl was so fresh & crisp — plus I loved the variety of items in my salad. The Garden salad looked really good, too. I also love their pizzas — if you’re a fan of thin crust, you’ll like it, too. Two friends ordered the calzones and seriously, they looked larger than life, yummy, and I’m thinking enough for two meals. if you haven’t been to Elwood’s before, the concept /prices /menu is very similar to Fellini’s. It’s located in the Kroger shopping center so parking is never a problem.

I’m really very fond of this place, though now that I’ve turned vegan the menu is much more limited – I’d also really like to see a whole wheat crust. They are pretty heavy-handed with the cheese so if that’s your thing, by all means go for it. If you order garlic, by golly you are going to have stinky breath! It’s a nice place to hang out, though internet access would be a plus. They have pinball and such. The waitstaff is very friendly. My husband’s elderly and confused uncle who lives with us would like to see coffee served there – he’s adament about this though there’s a Starbucks nearby. If they read this they probably will know from this last bit who we are! LOL

Elwood’s Pizza has a lot of interior design details reminiscent of your friend Steve’s bachelor pad or your neighbor’s college dorm room that was cooler back in the day than yours. Think all red walls, art posters in black frames, and lava lamps. Other details include a pyramid of cans and bowling balls as décor. Though it may sound a bit overwhelming(did I mention the pinball machines in the back?), it comes across as a fun place that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Plus it’s entertaining to see the ‘suits’ dressed in business attire scarfing down a lunchtime pizza with a backdrop of crazy pop art swirls in the background. The tattooed up staff is surprisingly friendly(as in comparison to other pizza joint staffs) — the cashier even made the rounds to ask everyone how their meal was going.. . and the hipsteresque girl behind the kitchen cheerfully handed me over a take-out box. As for the pizza — I went Sicilian with the spinach and mushroom combo. The crust was superb, but it would have been nice to see the spinach a bit more cooked on the pizza. They also have lasagna, calzones, a couple salad choices, and classic Italian pizza joint sandwiches like meatball parm. All in all, an enjoyable experience with an ambiance the opposite of ‘drab.’ And in conclusion, two last Elwood’s thoughts: 1. Also quite lovely that you have the option to buy an ice cream sandwich or a bomb pop to finish off your meal. Goes well with pizza, and easy to hold as you drive back to work after a carb-loaded meal. 2. My favorite part of the décor also(I’m assuming here) reveals this pizza shop’s namesake — a giant portrait of a pooch named Elwood.

It’s a pity that the quality of this place has gone down because Buckhead could really use a good pizzeria. The interior is cool for a casual joint, a bit Warholish, and the bottled beer selection is surprisingly nice with Sam Smith, Shipyard, Rogue, and more. I did not like The Works… poor cheese, too doughy, the toppings not cooked through. But the spinach mushroom was completely different, with perfumy real garlic and nicely charred, delicious crust, good oil dripping down. It could be due to the Spinach Mushroom being a better pizza at Elwood’s, but it could also depend on who’s making the pizza at the time. In any case the quality is inconsistent. It’s better than Fellini’s. On a good day.
