Awesome vegan food, with big flavor, I mean we are talking wonderful savory flavors here along with great service and wow at their team even having their own herb garden on their cool rooftop lounge — all around, excellent experience. Highly recommend it!

The fact that this is an all vegan restaurant gets it an automatic 3 stars in my opinion, but the food was delicious! I had a veggie sushi roll that was yummy. We also ordered the«chicken» satay, and while I’m not a big fan of fake meat, the sauce it was cooked in and a side for dipping was so good. For my entrée I had the Panaeng curry with«beef» and it was really, really, really good. We don’t make it to this side of town very often, but I can hardly wait to go back.

I’m a carnivore at heart but I was in taste bud heaven with every bite of my vegan feast. The name ‘Drink Art’ is deceiving but this place is truly a vegan Thai restaurant. I was there for a celebration and was able to sample several menu items from the appetizer and entrée selections. I was blown away by the traditional flavors with a personal touch. There was nothing that passed my palate that I wouldn’t order again. The décor is trendy and intimate. Unfortunately the weather prevented my group from enjoying the upstairs outdoor patio but the view of the skyline was nice. I can’t wait for my next visit so that I can try the other dishes.

Meh. As a recent convert to vegan, I continue to look for places I can get a decent meal. I decided to walk the mile from downtown to eat here and I regretted it. The location is less than desirable. The service was short and rude and I was the only one there when they opened. I had a fly go for a swim in my wine and my food was ok and over priced. I would not call this a «hipster» environment. There was a guy there in mesh shorts! The interior was kinda cool looking, with some outdoor seating. I wouldn’t get excited about the view, as it is difficult to look past the run down buildings in the foreground. Don’t get too excited about this place if you are visiting from out of town. If you are health conscious and consider walking, take a cab instead. Atlanta is not a nice city outside of the bustling downtown area.

This place is healthy and delicious– perfect spot for lunch that will fill you up and leave you feeling energized, not sluggish, for the rest of the workday! There were 4 of us and we sat at the main bar, which gives you a view into the kitchen. The owner is super friendly and chill, plus the place is very clean. A couple things I thought right off the bat — it would be nice if they had more seating options as you can only choose from bar stools or small tables for 2. Also, while looking over the menu, none of the apps really stood out to me as most of them were deep fried– I think it would be great if they had a fresh veggie summer roll, something a little lighter to start off the meal. A co-worker and I split 2 items– the Green Curry with veggie«steak» and the spicy«tuna» sushi. The curry was fragrant and coconutty and had a nice kick to it but not super spicy. The veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly so they still had a bit of crunch(eggplant was soft as it should be). The protein was good– next time I think I will opt for the«chicken» but I didn’t mind the consistency of the meat substitute, since I am not a vegetarian sometimes I find them unappealing but I actually liked this one. I LOVED the spicy tuna sushi. It was beautifully presented and full of flavor! I will certainly get this again. I am craving it right now! Portion sizes were spot on, and I left feeling satisfied but not overly full. The best part was the bill– only 6 bucks for an awesome, healthy, meal! All in all, it was a really great experience. I can’t wait to go back and explore the menu more.

My first experience here and it came highly recommended from a friend. You can tell it is in start up mode by the amount of seating. Wouldn’t recommend for large parties just yet; however if you love vegan food and asian infused dished this is a good place. I had the best seasoned Phad Thai here, and the chef is amazing. I am not a vegetarian but I found myself full and was pleased with the selection of food. They don’t have traditional all day hours so be cautious of that. Overall good experience I would recommend

Coming from someone who eats meat almost daily, I must say, I wouldn’t mind going vegan, if I eat could food as tasty as the food being served here on a daily bases. I believe this what people need; more veggie/vegan alternatives without compromising on flavor. Now the service was good, but I fear this place would not be able to handle a large crowd. I give them a perfect score solely on my experience. Which in my opinion was a victory to the vegan restaurant industry.

Went with an acquaintance… omg this place is the way! I’m mostly vegan with food allergies and Shandon(owner/chef) accommodated me with kindness. I had the rice noodles, the beet juice and the tempura appetizer… incredible! All fresh just like you would expect a vegan restaurant to be. Food was amazing. And service was awesome!

To start, I had no idea this place was vegan so that was strike 1 once I got there. However to be fair I went in with an open mind. The second strike is the seating. Downstairs there are very tiny booths that can only hold a maximum of 3 people. There is an insanely awkward set of tiny tables in the middle that would really only suffice if you are planning to eat alone and don’t need a big enough table for a plate and drink. We had 4 people and at no point did anyone on staff mention that there was a large patio where we could all sit comfortably. Strike three, the service was ok at best and it reminded me of being in a college town where the servers just don’t care and are not in a rush for anything. The server completely forgot to put the order in for someone we were with and didn’t admit it was her fault until the rest of us were done eating. Finally the manager came over and apologized and comp’d the meal for that person. The liquor and beer are all organic and while I am a huge proponent of Organic, I would recommend sticking to non-alcoholic beverages. As for the food, it was a little on the oily side but overall it was better than I was expecting. The corn fritters were the highlight of the meal. Bottom line, if you aren’t vegan I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Myself, my Mom and my Sister recently had lunch at Drink Art and were highly impressed with the ambiance, delicious food, and excellent service. We were approached by one of the cooks not knowing that he, Shandon, was the owner of the restaurant. He has a fantastic and humble personality and we hope to return the next time we visit Atlanta! The presentation of the good were above par as they were artwork in itself. The food was not only exquisite and tasty, but it was extremely fresh, leaving you with a satisfied and delighted feeling. The juices were amazing! Please try Beetle Juice! Even my 17-month old couldn’t get enough! Overall, phenomenal experience! Tell your friends!

Checked out Drink Art last weekend with a bunch of friends and had a very nice dinner. We ordered a few of the fancy cocktails and my friend had a beer. The place has a cool ambiance(like much of Castleberry Hill the building and it’s red brick interior have some interesting history). The pricing, especially for the food, high quality, often organic ingredients, is very fair with many dishes around $ 10. We enjoyed the massaman curry, Thai wonton soup, and a stir fry with veggie chicken that actually did taste like real chicken. The food had a lot of flavor and the right amount of spice and portion sizes were good. My friend ordered the coconut soup which was quite good also and the 4 of us all left impressed. The patio upstairs is pretty cool with a nice view of the city skyline. We experienced good, friendly service. The real point for improvement is the seating. We found the hard wooden bench seats to be somewhat uncomfortable(they come up to only half way on your back) and a lot of the high chair set up around us didn’t look very comfortable either. The space is small so they would need some creativity in re-imaging a different setup though. It won’t stop me from coming back but I hope they look for some alternatives. I’m also looking forward to seeing the art they eventually put up on the walls.

I was super excited to try this vegan thai restaurant. At first glance, the establishment is cute, nice décor. The employees were super friendly. So far everything is great, so the food must be just as great, right? Wrong! Phad see-ew is just«ew» at best. The food tasted like it was drowned in black pepper. The coconut sticky rice was basically steamed rice with the tiniest hint of coconut. I never thought you could go wrong with Thai, until now. –bleh– What a shame.

This may be my favorite Atlanta restaurant! I just moved from Tampa Bay and am starting to hunt out vegan friendly spots to replace my old haunts. This is my new date night restaurant. I requested my boyfriend to take me here for my birthday dinner after reading about it in the Creative Loafing. I love Thai food and I’m vegan, so list something as Vegan Thai and I’m on board. I also read that they serve local, organic, produce and have some inventive signature drinks. I called to make reservations and as soon as we walked in they asked if I was Crystal with the reservation, good intuition. The restaurant itself is in a brick building and has a trendy, urban, feel to the dining room. I was a little disappointed the upstairs balcony was not open yet for dining outside, but am excited to try it when it is. I had already looked at the menu online and knew I wanted the little«purse» appetizers and a glass of wine to start off with. The appetizers were delicious and it was nice to have an app option other than spring rolls. My boyfriend and I decided to order the Phad Prik Pao and the Khao Phad Kung to share. He loved both dishes equally, but I could not stop eating the Phad Prik Pao. It was perfectly spiced and the brown rice was cooked to perfection. Even though we were already pretty full, when the server came over to tell us that they did have a dessert platter available, we had to order it. I can’t remember the name of each little dessert, but I know there was a coconut flan that I wasn’t crazy about, a raspberry chocolate cake, that was quite good and berry-lemon tarts that I loved. I wished they had those Thai doughnuts or banana spring rolls that most Thai restaurants serve though. That’s what I always think of when I think of Thai desserts. Overall, we both enjoyed the meal and the drinks. The prices weren’t bad and if we hadn’t both got 2 drinks each and dessert, it would have made for a fairly inexpensive date. We will definitely be going back.

I went back to Drink Art last week and had another great experience. We were there on a Thursday night and there was a good crowd. I tried the massaman curry with chicken this time. It was very good. I love curry but many Thai restaurants use fish oil in their curry dishes. It was nice to have vegan curry! One of the servers informed us that they are close to opening their upstairs patio so they will soon have outdoor seating. This is just in time for spring and summer and I love a patio in ATL. I will definitely be back to experience some sunshine with my curry!

*blank stare* I’m so perplexed with this experience and how to write this review but I feel I need to give an honest view. Let’s get into this. Let me start off with saying this is closer to a 3.5 and I will definitely return and recommend as of now. I was very excited to see that there was a new vegan Thai place. I’m not a vegan/vegetarian but I play one from time to time. Told the boyfriend we had to check it out after fellow true vegan vetted and recommended it. We headed here and after being led astray by Google Maps(kick rocks), we finally figured out where it was. Don’t blink, it’s on a corner and the signage is hard to spot. We noticed it because there was a movie filming right near it at the time. We got here around 7:30 on a Saturday night, another couple was walking in at the same time and we were the only 4 in there. The space is lovely — clean, open and bright. Very modern-ish décor and seating. Someone else called it «functional and comfortable». Functional? Sure. Comfortable? Maybe if you are of a certain height(shortie like me) and weight(fill in the blanks). The 2-person«booths» are wooden and my bf didn’t find them comfortable for his 6′ frame. There are about 6 of these 2 person booths and one long table in the middle of the room with 5 tall geometic-ish chairs. There was also a random stool under our table. Not sure what it was for? Purse holder? Kid’s chair? Extra shortie chair? I’ve got the ‘itis and I’m gonna kick my feet up ottoman? I say all of that to say the seating is limited downstairs but there seemed to be another space upstairs which we didn’t see. Anyway, the menu has all of the classic Thai dishes you would expect. We ordered the corn fritter app to start. Not bad but not great. The sauce helped give it more flavor. I ordered the red curry w/veggie«chicken» and he ordered the Phad Kapaow(stir fried veggies in mushroom sauce). We were both very pleased with our dishes! They left the«chicken» out of mine and I had to ask about it. It was brought to me within in a few minutes but I still enjoyed the dish. Flavors and spice level were great. However, both of our dishes were a tad too salty. I went through 3 glasses of water pretty quickly. But, that can be easily fixed, Chef. Shandon Anderson, former NBA player and 2006 Champion(with the Heat) is the owner of this beautiful establishment. With it being new, there are still some kinks to work out and I have faith that it will be done, I want to see this place stand and succeed. It’s needed! What bothered us most during our experience? His Boys. You know Those Friends. There were two gentlemen who showed up who clearly knew Mr.Anderson. Yelling out his name as they came in. Sitting around, walking back into the open kitchen(big no-no), chatting it up with the waitresses, etc. At one point they were sitting in the last open 2-person booth. Two ladies walked in and were looking around for seating. They were beckoning the women to come sit on their laps. o-O They finally got up and sat at the long table and one seemed to be bothered by this. The other decided to venture back into the kitchen. Looky here. I can appreciate friends showing support for your ventures. Truly, I do. But at some point you are going to have to make a decision on whether certain behaviors are hurting or helping you.(Big hint: Hurting) To the friends of Mr. Anderson — if you care about his success — let the man work and check yourselves, please. He’s got a good thing starting and people are waiting on their food. Mr.Anderson, to put it in other terms: Flagrant fouls on the court, ejection is needed.

Great food and great service! I tried the sampler platter which was absolutely delicious. The corn fritters are a must try but so were the other items. For my meal I had a rice and veggie dish with veggie steak. I wasn’t a huge fan of the veggie meat(I’m not vegan so maybe it’s an acquired taste) but the rest of the meal was very flavorful! I’d highly recommend trying this place if you want clean and tasty food even if you aren’t vegan! I wish the owner the best of luck and hope this place becomes a big hit!

Thai food is my *favorite* food, so a Thai restaurant where I can order ANYTHING because it’s ALL vegan? Almost too much to handle! We got the sample platter, which I loved. The corn fritters were messy and delicious and it was hard to resist going after each stray crumb. Okay, I did eat the crumbs that fell on the table, but I at least had the decency to leave the floor crumbs alone. My massaman curry was awesome as well. The sauce was creamy and the vegetable chunks cooked to perfection. The restaurant is adorable and cool, with exposed brick walls and cool modern seating. The service was friendly and pretty quick considering there was only one waitress. I can’t wait until I’m in Atlanta again, because this is definitely my new dinner spot!

The food was really well done. Lots of attention to detail from the spices to plating. I had a Thai dish with the mock pepper steak and it was very tasty and just a little spicy. My girlfriend had their mock chicken salad with arugula that was also very nice. It may have been a little heavy on red onions, but nonetheless very good. Service was a little slow, but they are just getting starting and they are looking to expand their staff and said they were surprised how busy they were already. You should go. :-)
