I recently faced an issue with one of my molars. I appreciate the honesty and helpfulness I received at Dr. Giesler’s office. I would highly recommend using them. Their quick help in this«emergency» was wonderful.

This was the 2nd of 4 dentists I visited for«smile consultations». I had braces when I was in high school but was never really good about using my retainers so my teeth are only mostly straight. Since then, I’ve also had 2 professional bleachings(3 years apart) and more recently, a deep cleaning for gum issues that are starting to become a problem. My point is, my teeth look fine and no one would ever have anything bad to say about them, but they certainly aren’t Hollywood perfect either. I’ve always been intrigued by veneers and the way they can improve a B– smile to an A++ smile so after thinking about them, and saving up, for the last 6 years or so(I had heard that veneers were approx $ 1k each), I finally decided this would be the year to start seriously considering getting veneers and Googled my way to 4 cosmetic dentists with fantastic reviews. NOTE: I automatically crossed off the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry because I knew it would be insanely expensive simply because it’s a «name» everyone knows and thinks of first when it comes to veneers. Below, I’m going to review THIS particular practice and link you to the other dentists so I can keep these reviews as relevant as possible. Also, keep in mind that I’m reviewing these practices for COSMETIC dentistry only. If I were to guess, all 4 of these would be great choices for general dentistry. Dentist #1: Dr. Boulden( ) Dentist #2: Dr. Giesler — Dr. Giesler has the smallest office of the 4 dentists I visited, which can be a good or bad thing depending on whether you prefer a polished/glamorous environment or a cozier/homier feel(this office is the latter). + Unlike Dr. Boulden and Dr. Flax’s offices, there is no tour, no poster-sized photographs of past patients, and no walls lined with awards and plaques to impress you. This automatically felt more«genuine» and less sales-y to me. I also got the sense that maybe Dr. Giesler focuses less on cosmetic dentistry and is mostly a family dentist, who is primarily concerned with the health of your mouth rather than taking your money for cosmetic work. — My «patient coordinator», Morgan(who apparently used to work for«The Center [for Cosmetic Dentistry]»), was much more upfront with me compared to my experience at the other offices. This is good if you don’t mind straight-up honesty and don’t need alot of hand-holding. For example, one of the first things Morgan said to me was, «innnnteresting bite!», referring to my slight cross-bite. She then proceeded to take several pictures of my smile without letting me know that I should close my eyes so I wouldn’t get blinded by the flash(but I knew to anyway because I just went through the same thing at Dr. Boulden’s). Again, I can see how some people would prefer this treatment whereas others might find this too forward and borderline rude for a first meeting. + Although i came in for a quote on 8 – 10 veneers(which would range from $ 12k-$ 20k), Dr Giesler gave me her honest opinion about doing veneers on someone my age and provided me with other options that could help me achieve similar results. In the end, she sent me home with a quote for bonding and bleaching($ 1500), even telling me that they could bill bondings as fillings(which they sometimes are) so that my insurance could help cover the cost! SUMMARY: I was very impressed by her knowledge, experience, artistic eye(based on before/after photos of some of her work), honesty, and willingness to turn down thousands of dollars so I could make a more informed decision about my teeth. She truly made me feel like she cared about me and talking to her was almost like talking to my own mom. And although she is almost old enough to BE my mom, she doesn’t look a day over 40 and her teeth are completely natural AND the best looking of everyone’s I’ve seen at any of these dental offices combined. I won’t lie — if I’m shopping around for a cosmetic dental procedure, the first indicator I’ll use to gauge a doctor’s style and artistic taste is that doctor’s own teeth, and Dr. Giesler passed with flying colors… what I wouldn’t give to have teeth that look like her’s right now! Dentist #3: Dr. Patel( ) — Quick note: The«new patient concierge» here, Christina, also used to work for«The Center [for Cosmetic Dentistry]». I wonder what the staff turnover rate is at «The Center». Dentist #4: Dr. Flax( )
