What an experience! I left this facility shaking… I’ll start from the top: I decided to spend a day in the city, and I was very excited about trying a new nail salon. After reading the reviews on this place I felt as if I was prepared for the foolery that goes along with hanging out in this particular area, but I was so far from prepared. First off, I waited for 37 mins before I was seated in a chair to receive my pedicure. I proceeded to sit for what felt like an eternity until the water was too cold, and I had to call for someone to add more. The chair itself was completely worn, it looked and felt dirty, it was uncomfortable, and the massager didn’t work. After the temperature dropped with the second batch of water I decided to skip the pedicure, and move on to my mani where I waited an additional 10 mins before anyone started on me. Things started out great, the nail tech, who was a guy, greeted me with a big, friendly smile, and asked how my day was going. We were having a great time until I told him how I wanted my nails shaped; he tried to talk me out if getting what I wanted, and when I decided to go against his wishes, he grew increasingly aggravated. He started being rough and sort of throwing my hand around. I asked him if everything was ok, and he said«sorry» and began smiling again and being friendly. A few moments later I decided that I wanted my nails shorter, when I told him he yelled at me, and told me that I should have told him before he put the acrylic on. I told him that I didn’t like him yelling at me, and he replies by shushing me! I could not believe what was happening! This man went back and forth between being friendly and being nasty several times before I decided to tell him off. When I finally did, he stopped working on my nails and stared me down as if he wanted to attack me. I felt threatened and I my hands were shaking uncontrollably. I have NEVER experienced anything like this, EVER. I went to the manager and told him that I needed someone else to finish my nails, so the manager did them himself. He didn’t seem shocked by this man’s behavior, and he didn’t even apologize. I wouldn’t recommend City Nails to anyone! This place is all about quantity. The prices are as low as they are for a reason. I went in for a mani & pedi, and left out with nails that I hate. My cuticles are dry and cracked, and the work was rushed and not well done. If these people were offering free services, I still wouldn’t return. I still can’t believe what happened.

Quick. Cheap. Ghetto. But I love it and I will keep going until the apocalypse because my nails are always great when I leave here. This place has a very New York: Bronx, Queens or Brooklyn feel to it. After playing hide and go seek with my nail tech at Original Nails, I just got frustrated and walked down the sidewalk to City Nails. It’s next door(or next-next door) to Payless Shoe Source on the sidewalk across from Underground Atlanta. Thai does my manicures and Vincent«Vin» does my pedicure. Thai is in my top three of best nail techs EVER. He understands sculpting and he is patient and kind. He listens to what you want and is not pushy. Vincent pays close attention and massages your feet very well. I cannot speak for the other nail artists but this place is always crowded and you will almost always have to wait at least 15 minutes. THEYARETHATGOOD! The salon is not fancy or pretty. It contains nail stations, a nail polish wall, spa pedicure chairs and drying stations with larger walls holding it up in a typical downtown street building. They do everything for nails, lashes, brows and etc… The prices are more than reasonable. I always get a full, sculpted UV gel overlay with gel polish set in long, sharp nails and pedicure for $ 40 total menu price. If you are a basic chick or just on a budget: pedicures are only $ 15 and a full, regular set is $ 16 for medium length and acrylic overlay. You will save lots of money here for double the price you would pay anywhere else in the city. The only reason I didn’t give CITYNAILS five stars is because it’s not a relaxing ambiance. I always feel like I’m ready to leave because it’s so many people and there’s no real spa feel to it. It’s very loud with lots of heavy Vietnamese being spoken over your head. It is simply like a drive-thru nail shop: in and out. No fancy, no fuss. Id rather get my nails done here for what is good talent and then go to Buckhead and relax in the spa to wind down. If you are scary, afraid or snobby you will not like this place at all. I warned you. If you are friendly, outgoing and like the rush of the city, then you won’t be bothered. P. S. I honestly always forget to take pictures of my nails on purpose to display but I have been going to this place for so long that I found pics in my phone of nail work that CITYNAILS has done on my feet and hands to attach to this review. I hope you enjoy! Muah

This was my first time going to this nail salon and I didn’t like how the guy had to think about what the price of a basic manicure was. It made me feel as if he was planning on charging me more than what was asked. Other than that, I enjoyed the service. They are fast!
