Every time I drive past this supermarket, I see smoke billowing from a giant smoker at the parking lot, and it always smell amazing. Out of curiosity, I finally decided to check it out. The guys at the smoker told me they grill chicken and ribs, and the chicken(pollo asada) is undoubtedly the better of the two. Once inside, there were about 5 other customers waiting for the grilled chicken… that’s a great sign! The sell the whole chicken($ 8.99) that comes with 2 small tubs of salsa. Don’t forget to grab a pack of soft corn tortillas(several customers did that). There are no place to eat on-site, but food would taste good when you get home. The chicken is smoky, well seasoned, juicy, and one of the best grilled chicken I ever had. Of course, white meat was a little dry and bland. That’s when you douse the salsa onto the meat. If you’re looking for a delicious, quick, and cheap meal, I highly recommend this. Oh! it’s cheap because you can feed 2 to 4 people for less than $ 12(chicken + tortillas).

What a great«hidden gem» on Buford Highway! I’ve always seen that big smoker grill going, and finally checked it out this evening. It contains some of the BEST charcoal grilled chicken I’ve had. It was excellent! At $ 8.99 it’s a tasty steal, and comes with fresh red and green sauces on the side. both of which are quite warm in spice as you can imagine, but both have their own delicious personalities. I look forward to my next Brito grilled chicken dinner!

Located on Buford Hyw in the City of Brookhaven just north of North Druid Hills is a great neighborhood market that offers a variety of Mexican spices and authentic food products. They have a fairly robust selection of meats, avocados and non-traditional produce. If this doesn’t inspire you to go… Then simply go for a fresh charcoal grilled chicken with the spice sauce on the side.

I went to Cross Keys High School in the mid to late 80s and its always fun to visit the old stomping grounds. I believe Britos is in a building that was a bank or an office at the corner of Curtis Drive and Buford Highway. Britos is similar to most carnicerias with the exception of having the largest BBQ pit I’ve seen in front of the store. The pit can easily cook 100 whole chickens. The chicken is grilled to perfection, as it juicy and well seasoned. The chicken is butterflied, which reduces the cook time. I do my share of bbqing and grilling. I know good chicken when I taste it. For 8.99 you get a whole chicken cooked to perfection with a side a side of red and green salsa. If you don’t want to cook dinner, stop by and grab a deliciously grilled chicken.

That dude that is usually on the grill is a BEAST!!! We ended up eating in their outdoor picnic area, then going back in and buying the same bbq’d chicken to take home for dinner. That due has my respect! The rest of the stuff in their store is stuff you probably won’t find in Kroger or Wal-Mart. But, ol’ boy can grill! He may not know English well, but he understands the«fist bump» that I gave him after eating his chicken fresh off the grill.

Pleasantly surprised! This grocery store is walking distance from my place, so very convenient when I want to cook but have nothing stocked up. I was hesitant to check this place out, but my friend recommended it. If you also live nearby, definitely give it a try! The raw marinated chicken sells for $ 1.99 and al pastor for $ 2.99! Very cheap, delicious, and easy to cook. Just be careful of staining your stovetop with the red sauce. So much better than trying to season my own chicken. They also sell fresh produce. Additionally, the barbecue cooking outside always smells so good. I have yet to try it though.

My friend and I stopped by Brito looking for ribs and chicken for Memorial Day weekend. The selection was incredible — some of the best I have seen in Atlanta but a PORTION of the price compared to anywhere else. And the service was AWESOME — everyone was very helpful. Highly recommended!!!

Just ate a delicious chicken cooked on a charcoal grill with wonderful red and green salsa. This is the only thing I have tried so far. I will be back to try some other things next weekend. Chicken was 9 $ and worth the price. I did not have to stand over a hot grill.
