Baraka Shawarma

Service was a little haphazard & u need to be patient as this appears to be a mom & pop place. They do deliver but would recommend calling to confirm. They do take cc via square.
Food: we ordered:
1. Combination plate: It had chicken & beef shawarma meat on a bed of very flavorful rice. Also in the combo was salad & pita bread. There was a white sauce that we think was similar to a Greek tzatziki sauce. Overall good flavor. Got a mini dance move out of me-​which says a lot! — I am usually paid ‘not’ to dance!
2. Dolma: stuffed grape leaves, pretty good but not great
3. Hummus: decent & fresh but the pita bread was soggy.
4. Sombosa: ordered one veggie which was a bit oily but good flavor and one beef, which was good & not as oily.
5. Mango Smoothie: this was based on a recommendation from another Unilocal review… it was pretty good, fresh & tasted like real fruit (not from canned pulp). It was better that most places I have had.
Overall reasonably priced, delivery service & enjoyable flavors wins over the haphazard service with a 4 star

Great food, Great service, and the most delightful mango smoothie you’ve ever tried! Baraka Shawarma is quite the little secret spot to eat at. Also you’d be surprised how flavorful and good their wings are.

Yo, so I went into this not expecting a whole lot for a late night delivery out to the new house, but was totally pleasantly surprised. Even though the food was delivered, which obviously added some time in between cooking and eating, and another hour before the wifey got home before I got to eat… as a lover of Gyros with mystery meat, these were totally great and hit the spot! They lose a star because they definitely should have put more tomatoes cucumbers and onions in there but there was lots of meat and the sauce was perfect for the sandwich. I would definitely get from here again, And I’m slightly envious of the lucky Georgia State students who can eat here all the time. Good stuff

Walking distance from Georgia State University, this is the place to get a shawarma fix downtown!
I ordered a chicken shawarma plate. Instead of rice, I asked for fries. So, piled on top of my fries were chicken chunks with garlic sauce and chile («spicy» as referred by the workers). My meal also came with a salad and half a pita.
It seems that students (with GSU ID) can get a combo: shawarma, fries and drink for something like $ 6.
Come and get it.

My guess is that you should avoid delivery.
1 hour, 45 minutes to arrive, no apology or explanation. For some reason (eye roll,) the food was cold. More than irritating, this is unsafe, to have food cooling off in someone’s car for more than an hour. (It’s an 11 minute drive. Did the delivery guy swing by his girl friend on the way over?)
The food, once reheated, was good. Thus, a generous 2 stars.

This place is the best food downtown! I am so glad we were able to find this place! Me and my friend were so hungry and everything was so authentic and extremely flavorful! It was in and out quick before our Ferris wheel ride! The chicken shawarma is AMAZING! I recommended the Chicken Shawarma Plate! The buba ghanouj? Is absolutely delicious!!! The gyro was really good too… Mmmm MUST COME HERE if you’re in the area!!! The people here absolutely make the entire experience. They offer tastes too!

Baraka shawarma is AWESOME. The service is improving but the food is SO good. I come here a lot go with the combination plate with extra Baraka sauce

Ordered from this restaurant on Friday evening through Beyond Menu. After an hour and a half passed I tried calling the restaurant to see if there was any hold-​up or if they were having trouble finding me. No answer after multiple calls so I canceled the order through Beyond Menu.

The WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! REALLY.
I have never canceled a food order before but this place is a disaster.
I called in a simple 2 item order and was quoted 45 mins. After 1 hour, I called them and was told 5 – 10 min. After 1:30 passed, I called to follow up and a total of 8 calls had to be placed before they even answered their phone. Needless to say, it’s been 2 hours and I have no food and no idea how this place is even in business…

I used to get schwarmas in Bahrain down near the Souk. These are better. Tucked away gem!

It was good until they started serving «not so good» pitas. Let’s be honest, the pita bread plays an important role in taste. Staff is friendly, no complaints here. But you must work on bringing the quality up. I found downtown restaurants in Atlanta to be lazy when it comes to quality, because «well people are gonna need something to grab for lunch anyway»!!

Food was fresh, flavored as expected, but priced too high by a couple of dollars. I prefer Ali Babas around the corner for the same food choices and a better price.

Got out of jury duty early so was looking for a place to eat a late lunch. Didn’t know anything about this place, but decided to give it a try. Glad I did!
Ordered the Vegetarian Delight Plate. I kept looking at their menu to find a Falafel platter, but couldn’t find one. Finally figured out that it’s the Veg Delight Platter.
Even though it was quite busy when I ordered, the food came out relatively quickly.
Food presentation, quality, and portion sizes were great. I couldn’t even finish it all, even though it was all so good.
Would definitely stop back for lunch again if I’m in the area.

If you like waiting for three hours for delivery and cold food then you’ll love this place.

I ordered online for pickup and I live ten minutes away. By the time I got there, my food was ready. The restaurant was empty, but my cashier was very friendly. Everything was great, but the food was mediocre. I got the Vegetarian Delight plate. The falafels and dolmas were rockin’, but the pita I ordered (extra) was incredibly tough. The tabouli was almost all parsley and probably could have used a few more tomatoes to level out the taste. The baba ganouj and hummus were just okay, but had a bit of a weird taste. I definitely plan on returning and trying other menu items, but as for today, my meal was a tad disappointing.

Had the chicken shawarma plate, the spicy version. Great flavors. Great portion.

I’ve only ever ordered their food from Eat 24, so I can’t speak to their service. Their food, however.
Oh. My. God.
The serving sizes are generous. Totally worth the price. I’ve had the Chicken Shawarma plate, the Combination Shawarma sandwich, and the Baba Ghanouj. All bursting with flavor. The baraka sauce is addicting, the tzaziki sauce is a perfect compliment, the side salad with the lemon dressing is a perfect pairing.
I’m finding it really difficult not to order from here again today. I’ve had it twice this week already.
SO GOOD. Just try it.

I love coming here on my lunch break. I usually get the vegetarian delight plate (stuffed grape leaves, felafel, baba ghanoush, humus, and tabouleh) and a side of the marinated chicken shawarma. The food is amazing and tastes heavenly. The mango smoothie is good as well. The people that work here are also very friendly.

This place is overpriced and on too of that the cashier tried to charge me for a bottle water when I clearly asked for ice water. I called him out for it and he did correct it. The beef gyro had more sauce on it than it did anything else. The staff was friendly but overall it was overpriced and not even that good. I would recommend trying a different place to eat in the area
