I ordered a meal from grub hub for delivery. First off the food came 30 minutes late then the estimated time given to us. The lemon pepper wings were dry and nearly burnt, the nachos were bland and the grilled salmon was ok, but the rice was bland. Totally not worth the $ 47. I won’t order from here again.

I am basing this review solely on one visit. I was looking for a place to watch the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight. I knew I wasn’t going to pay $ 100 to watch it at home on pay per view, but at the same time I was dreading having to watch the latest«Fight of the Century» in a crowded bar among partygoers who normally don’t follow the sport of boxing the way I do. Then I remembered there’s this one sports bar on MLK Drive just down the street from me. Maybe I should check it out and give it a chance. Here in Atlanta, whenever people hear that something is on MLK Drive they want no part of it. It’s located in a shopping center area with nearby stores like Rent-A-Center, Wayfield Foods, Family Dollar, Citi-Trends and a laundromat, etc. It’s a rugged area(that looks even rougher at night) but I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit there. They were charging a reasonable $ 20 admission to go in and watch the fight. That is a fair price considering this was no ordinary fight, but a worldwide phenomenon. Even though the main fight began at around 11pm, I arrived around 8 so I could watch the undercard and find a good spot to sit before it got too crowded. Turns out there was decent attendance but not as crowded as I thought it would be. Before entering, I had to show my ID and then I was patted down(vigorously, I might add) by a burly security guard. The other security guards seemed amused at the fact that I brought a novel with me. I envisioned myself reading the book while waiting for the fight to start. I didn’t know any better. Once I entered, the atmosphere was like a sports bar/nightclub/strip club. No the women weren’t naked or anything, but it was kind of dark with purple and white lights. The women serving drinks wore Hooters’ type outfits, with the difference being that most wore tight black shorts with tops that had referee stripes. Others wore one-piece bathing suits that also had referee stripes. The rest either wore all black or different variations of black and white. Most of the women were attractive; not drop-dead gorgeous, but they were cute enough. Almost all of the customers there were black. I only saw two that weren’t. One was a white guy with dark features who looked and acted like an old school Italian-American mobster from Goodfellas and the other was a blonde haired, blue eyed white girl who had a hip-hop swagger about her. The ages of the people there ranged from barely legal to some who were in their 50s. No one looked out of place and everyone there was having fun and getting along well. And there was this: I was watching one of the undercard bouts while sitting on a stool near the bar with my legs open. During that time, the audio was turned down for the fight and rap music was playing. One young sista got so into the music that she just gave me an impromptu lap dance out of nowhere! This added a different kind of excitement than the one I was feeling in anticipation of the big fight. Oookayyy! If there was anything I could mildly complain about was the deejay who kept interrupting the fight by yelling into his mircrophone every few minutes, «I got money on Pacquiao(or as he pronounced it «PACK-KEE-YOW»). «PACK-KEE-YOW gon’ make that boy(Mayweather) fight!» «I got money on PACK-KEE-YOW,» again. It was mildly annoying but funny at the same time. The volume had been turned up on the fight by the time Mayweather/Pacquiao started boxing and he was crowing until it became obvious that Mayweather was going to win. Then he muted the audio and started playing hardcore hip-hop again. No one protested or seemed to mind though. And since one of the many televisions in the place had subtitles, I just watched the fight on it and enjoyed the atmosphere. There were rented booths, reserved tables, stools near the bar and televisions everywhere(including a huge screen on one of the walls). You couldn’t miss the fight no matter where you sat. Good food being served and libations everywhere. Lively times. Even though Mayweather/Pacquiao turned out not to be as exciting as most would have liked, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it at the Aquarius Lounge. It’s good to find a place like this in this neighborhood. I plan on returning soon and supporting this establishment, whether there is a major sporting event at the time or not. It’s refreshing to see so many black people having fun in one place without anyone shooting or fighting. I pray it stays that way. Thanks, Aquarius for a fine night out.

For what it’s worth, it’s a decent spot. The music was HIPHOP and up to date. It was really crowded so beware of that. I rode the bull and that was fun. Even though I fell each ride. You will see some«interesting» characters in there but if you’re someone who can adapt to any environment, then you’ll be okay.

My rating is based on the atmosphere and food here because I never stayed late for the actual nightlife part of it. I went during a hot day when it was very sunny out but when I stepped in here it was so dark, I think you you partied here at night until the next morning you would lose track of time, you cannot see outside. If I’m not mistaken the inside is like a deep royal type purple so yes if you met someone you thought looked good inside this place I advise you to not get your hopes up until you two step into the light lol The server/bartenders are really gorgeous!!! I ordered some hot wings and chicken quesadillas and both were delish!!! I fell asleep when I got home lol The security out front was pretty cool its like everyone came off as cool and respectful. Great service! Fellas if your gonna flirt with these gorgeous bartenders and waste their time while on the clock the least you can do is tip them! Guys be in bars and all spending money on drinks on top of drinks and trying to kick game to the pretty employees and leave them with nothing or less than $ 5 sheesh… I observe these guys when I’m in bars, lounges, clubs, etc! For this place to be in be location it’s in it’s a very decent place.

I love the atmosphere it was cool but I have never seen a bar charge tax on drinks plus they are too high to be on MLK, $ 12.00 for a pitcher, a shot is in a cup like you have on every 1st Sunday at church, and the garlic/parmasean wings for get it they need to ask Walmart for the recipe for those they are terrible. I love the décor it is great but I could not get pass the tax for the drinks they told me that the accountant told them to collect it from us so that they don’t have to pay at the end of the year??? ooookkkkk never heard of that one. When it is not busy there are a thousand workers when it gets busy you can’t find nobody, managment trying to watch the registers, get cameras if you don’t trust them fire them!!! No clean tables nowhere, everybody watching the money but not working!
