It’s never a good sign when you can’t find your ball in the middle of the fairway. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough are still in horrible condition, however, the greens and bunkers are pretty good. The fairways would be playable if they just got cut on a regular basis. I don’t know if American Golf or the city is holding out on the upkeep. We played on a Sunday morning for a discounted rate of $ 26.00, and it still wasn’t worth it. It’s not a fair test of golf when you can’t get a club face on the ball when its lying in the fairway. The rough is so thick and high that you could easily lose your ball when it is 1 yard off of the fairway. A poor environment for speedy play.

There’s hobo tents behind every green. Watch out for the snake pit. Don’t let the course swaller ur ball!!! It sounds like a gunshot when you hit your 5-iron in the grass. And watch out for gun fire when your in this neighborhood.

Just left this place for the poor customer service and lack of golf course management. I arrived to catch up with a 3 some for the back nine. I was told I couldn’t join them cause they signed up for a 3 some and not a 4 ball. After bein talked down about this he finally said I could play, but would have to pay full price and pay for a cart, even though I didn’t ask for a cart. I asked if it would be alright if I paid full and got nine holes for another day. He refused me and told me to either pay full to play the back nine or f*ck off!!! I glady took my money and headed to a better course… Don’t not play here. Much better courses out there like Bobby Jones, North Fulton, even Candler park is better then this dump!!!

From the arrival to the course, I got the feelings of It wasn’t going to be what’s expected. Poor signage, lack of friendliness from the clubhouse to the starter, and much needed updating. Though it is a cheap price, I feel that I still over paid. The course itself is in absolutely horrible shape. Cart paths are disintegrating, fairways are more rocks than grass, and the greens have more sand on them than the sand traps. Given a two star ranking over a one star, because the other guests on the course seemed to really enjoy it, as I heard one group in front of me say they play it every week. As a first timer and new to Atlanta, I will not be playing here and will continue to look for a local course I enjoy.

She ain’t much to look at, but she’s got it where it counts. I’ve been playing this course for about ten years now and the fairways still look the same(they suck) and the greens are okay, but there are some challenging holes on this course. It is an old school design in that it makes you shape most of your shots, lots of trees lining the fairways and driver really is not necessary. Signature holes are the par 39th and the par 417th. Each of these will easily be the most memorable holes because of the distance and the small creek that will probably claim somebody’s ball in your foursome. The par 39th is 219 yards and requires a well struck club that most rarely hit(e.g., 2 or 3 iron, or fairway wood). The par 417th is drivable at 266 yards, but the creek and thick ruff make it a real risk reward hole. So if you go, have low expectations for the condition of the course, but you will surely enjoy the layout. BTW — they recently replaced the greens, so they are half-way decent.
