Overall, Agatha’s was ok. On the plus side, the talent was great. The gentleman and woman who were performing did an excellent job. We were all really amazed at the accents and how they could get into different characters so quickly. The dining experience? We walked in to the dining room, greeted our friends, put our stuff down and immediately we were greeted by our server who stated that he HAD to get our entrée orders first before we went to get our appetizers. He then read off the entrée orders SO fast we only caught a glimpse of what he said. It was rushed. Perhaps if it weren’t so rushed, I could’ve had a better idea of what I was ordering. Do not order the«beef tenderloin.» It reminded me of a tough hamburger patty with BBQ sauce on top(and we weren’t even given steak knives). The chicken that my friends ordered tasted a lot better, however, it was something I could’ve made at home. The appetizers were my favorite part. The salad was icky, a spring mix. The bread was cold and not warm. The veggies were crunchy. The carrot cake was pretty yummy! The service… Was interesting. As this is a dining experience you pay for all up front($ 70, tip included), I feel like there’s no initiative for the servers to be friendly. It seems like everyone is «tasked» with doing their jobs and no one wants to go out of their way. A friend of mine noticed someone was collecting plates and tried to hand him her bread plate as well, and he scoffed and said, «I can’t take that, I have to get 40 plates.» It was a really awkward moment. It appeared that everyone else acted that way as well. I don’t think I’ll be returning… Not for $ 70, at least.

I went into this not very enthused, I had no idea what to expect from a «murder mystery dinner». The show itself was a pleasant surprise, the actor and actress were very well versed and put on quite a show, more comedic than I expected. The audience involvement can be a little cringe worthy at times, but they made it work. The food definitely leaves something to be desired. All 100 or so customers received their meal for the course at the same tame, raising some suspicion as to how recently they were prepared… Like some others have said, the food is little more than what you would expect to get from«Applebee’s». I suppose you cannot get both a great show and great food in the same place.

If you are looking for a different and fun dining experience around Atlanta, then look no further! Agatha’s is your ticket! I’ve wanted to take my family here since my first experience back in 2011. Now that the kids are older the opportunity seemed right. Our night started in a short line at the entrance as others who arrived before us checked-in. One of the cast members from the show will greet you in full costume to explain how the evening will unfold in a brief orientation. Base on the poster out front, there should have been four cast members. But for this evenings performance the show went on with only two. During orientation you will be given a part to play. EVERYONE participates in the show, but don’t let that frighten you. Most of the audience will perform in distinct groups. There are, however, several individual speaking parts reserved mostly for people celebrating a special occasion(birthday, anniversary, etc.). The show relies heavily on audience participation which is what makes each performance unique. Once you have been briefed, you are free to either go to your assigned table, visit the bar for some libations or partake in the appetizer buffet. When the actors are ready to begin the show a bell will sound for everyone to take their seats. Tonight’s show was title ‘Hunger Reindeer Games’, a spoof of the Hunger Games movie. The performance was broken up into four acts with one food course served between each act, starting with the appetizer buffet before the show begins. NOTE: Arrive early if you want appetizers. The appetizer buffet closes not long after everyone has gone through orientation. —– THEFOOD APPETIZERS Several choices are offered in small quantity and once they are out, they will be replaced with something different. Cheese and cubed meat as well as fried mushrooms, chips, salsa, olives and fresh fruit slices were staple items. Alternating into the buffet were pizza, buffalo nuggets, pigs in a blanket and fajita beef. Overall — 3 stars. SOUP&SALAD The Coconut Carrot Ginger soup served tonight was refreshingly different(4 stars). The salad was your typical house salad with Italian or buttermilk ranch dressing as table choices(served in stainless steel gravy boats). MAINCOURSE — Stuffed Pork Tenderloins(2.75 stars) A pork tenderloin roll stuffed with caramelized apples, goat cheese, and topped with an apple-cider sauce. I personally didn’t like the flavor combination. Tasted a bit like medicine. — Beef Tenderloins(3.5 stars) Two beef medallions grilled medium rare and topped with a Sweet Onion & Tarragon Sauce. Although they specify a medium rare temperature, our order came medium well. — Italian Marinara Chicken(3 stars) A boneless skinless chicken breast, topped w/mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. Not particularly flavorful, but a decent choice. Also available are: — Mahi Mahi — Atlantic Salmon — Honey Pecan Chicken All entrees are served with herb roasted carrots & squash, and potatoes au gratin(with fontina & sharp cheddar cheese), and yeast rolls. We LOVED the potatoes au gratin! The veggies were just ‘meh’. DESSERT The slice of cake served tonight was too spongy and I didn’t like the holiday spice flavor of the icing(2 stars) —– THESHOW I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I’m a suburban dad who doesn’t get out much to these sorts of experiences, so my standards may be a little low! Still, my personal belief is fun is what you make it and our family can have a great time almost anywhere. The smile on my youngest sons face during the entire dinner performance was priceless beyond measure. [ GRIPES ] 1) The appetizer buffet gets replenished quite slowly(felt purposeful). It seemed to be common that one or more items were«out» for 5 minutes or more. 2) The check-in process could use an overhaul. It feels odd, particularly because it is held in the lobby where everything converges. Servers are in and out of the kitchen and people are lined up for either the bar, restrooms or the appetizer buffet in a relatively small space. There was only one bartender, so the lines got pretty long. 3) Service is robotic. Seems the only people with personalities are the cast. Everyone else sort of reminded me of Lurch from the Addams family. —– FINALTHOUGHTS All quirks aside, it is truly a fun evening out if you don’t let little annoyances bother you!!! Definitely something different than your standard dinner experience anywhere else, but it is pricey. A family of four costs $ 269, which includes dinner show, tax & gratuities(not counting parking). For that kind of money, the food & service could be much, much better! But my kids really enjoyed it and that(sometimes) is all that matters. The youngest is actually now considering theater as a future career choice because he enjoyed the experience so much. Overall, 3.5 stars rounded up.

Had a great time while I was at Agatha’s on my most recent trip to Atlanta. Dinner was delicious and the show was fun. Lots of laughs! I met a few new friends as well!

This is a MUST go dinner and theater experiences!!! My husband and I went for our 5th year anniversary and it was so fun! The food was amazing, the entertainment was well compose, and having us all participate and involved made it so much fun! The price was definitely well worth it and we will definitely be going back!

This is a great experience to try! Whether it be for a date, birthday, or any celebratory event. It is a interactive«play» where you are giving sheets of paper that dictates if you have a sole speaking role. The wait staff are very nice and friendly. They are very attentive and keep our glass full of water. This is a 5 course meal, appetizer, soup, salad, main entrée with 2 glasses of wine(red or white), and a dessert. Come early so that you can enjoy appetizers and drinks before the show. It does start(try) promptly at 7:30 p.m. The food doesn’t really fill you up but I do love the entertainment, it was quite fun. I wouldn’t mind coming back again. Bring cash for the bar if you want extra drinks because using a CC has to have a min of $ 20 worth of drinks in order to use it.

As already noted by Unilocal, this establishment is very pricey. There is a coupon that is posted for a discount, but the establishment refused to honor it, providing reasons that are not included in the coupon itself. This is a dishonest practice.

A fun experience but a bit over-priced. The actors and wait-staff were very good. The show, «Hawaii Five Uh-oh…», was funny and the audience really got into it. The food was good but not great. Think«Applebee’s» or good bar food and you know what to expect. It was just my gf and me and we enjoyed ourselves but I imagine, cost aside, that it would be a very fun group outing.

This weekend my mom, sisters, and I went to Agatha’s to see«How to Almost Get Away with 50 Shades of Murder.» We thoroughly enjoyed our experience from beginning to end. All of the staff, from the bartender to our server Philippe were incredibly nice and helpful. The food was very good and I was impressed with the variety offered as opposed to other shows of this type in Atlanta. Now to the actual show… the actors were sooo good and funny! The lady actor did such a great job as Anesthesia Steele and Analyse Cheating! And the male actor did the most awesome Red Reddington impersonation as his character«Blue Blueington»! The way the two of them put on the entire show playing at least 3 characters each was very impressive. I also loved to see them improvise with the audience members who had speaking parts during the show. It was great! I would highly recommend this show, but unfortunately it was the last performance of «How to Almost Get Away with 50 Shades of Murder». However, it was so good, I will definitely be going to see a different show at Agatha’s in the future!

I enjoyed my time. We were fifty shades of GREY well how I almost got away with murder lol. I had the first part I was so nervous but everyone was into character and it seemed as though they picked the right people for the plan because they definitely fit the part. The food was excellent which I was surprised by because I was eating my boyfriends food too. Lol I would recommend and they will be seeing me again.

It’d been more than a decade since I’d been to an Agatha’s show, primarily because of having lived in Washington, DC for many of those years. Before that I’d been to quite a few of their shows. I was anxious to try it again. Usually you want to have reservations, but after a few meetings downtown that day, I stopped by the restaurant to see if they had any open seats and lucky me, they did! I texted my best friend to see if he was interested and he was up for«something totally different», as I alluded to what we would be doing. Cat, one of the owners, greeted me like an old friend, just as she always had. My friend arrived shortly after and I made introductions and we enjoyed a beverage from the bar. There’s so much to share about what a fun experience Agatha’s is. It’s not a «fine dining» experience(although I very much enjoyed the food – and love that there are so many entrée choices!), but it’s definitely a «fun dining» experience. The meal is five courses and the murder mystery is presented in four acts, one between each course. There’s a complimentary glass of wine served with the salad course and guests are invited to the bar where there is a great selection of adult libations available for purchase. I had wine only that evening, but my friend enjoyed a top shelf scotch. The show itself… side-splitting funny! If you’re prone to laughter, you’re going to love the show, and even if you’re not… I think you’ll have a good time. And everyone is part of the show. If you’re celebrating an anniversary or birthday, you might end up with a speaking part and others may be asked to create a song or sing an already written song to a particular tune – but not to worry, those folks will be singing along with others in the audience. Ready yourself for some great fun!

This a fun twist on dinner. I came for the Game of Thrones parody show with my family and it was hilarious. Our party is immediately greeted when we arrived at the door and everyone in the party was assigned roles(everyone participates and reads scripts). After that, we were shown where to go for an appetizer buffet, bar, and our reserved dinner table. Each part of dinner(appetizer, soup, salad and wine, entrée, and then dessert) was served between acts, so the only downfall I would say is that I was incredibly hungry by the time the entrée arrived. It’s a 3 hour event, so dinner was served roughly on hour 2. With that aside, this is something everyone should give a try if they’re in Atlanta and looking for something different.

A fun time! This particular show was based on Game of Thrones, which I’ve never seen or read, but that didn’t matter. The show was funny and entertaining. My only complaint is the food. I agree with the other reviewers on how mediocre the food is. Canned soup, dry bread, underwhelming chicken, bad cheesecake. I wasn’t so bothered because after reading the reviews, I knew the food wouldn’t be good. But I would have been willing to pay a little extra to have good food rather than have it cheaper with so-so(at best) food. If you’re looking for a good time, Agatha’s is great. Just don’t count on very good food, which hey, you’re not coming here for a gourmet meal anyway. I would give this place 3.5 stars. Also wanted to let people know about a promo code for $ 5 off per person: . Scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says«Deals,» and click on the plus sign. I had to call to use the promo code(which is «mention showtime»), but well worth the savings. It’s valid until October 31, 2014.

Show was funny. U will def laugh a lot. Great way to enjoy 3 hours of the evening. Food wasn’t great, but good. based on the reviews I was expecting worse. So I was pleasantly surprised. Worth the $ to me, and I would go back in the future for sure!

A unique dining experience to say the least; and I imagine it could be fun too, with the right crowd. The food? Well, you’re not coming here for the food. It’s not terrible; but again, you’re coming for the entertainment of whatever the show is and the experience overall. Give it a shot for what it is.

I really wish there was a half star option. Like it’s better than 3 but a 4 might be going overboard. What to Expect: You will be hoarded into a vestibule area like cattle by Characters from the show. It’s noisy, confusing and there are folks shuffling around everywhere. The characters will give you a sheet of paper that has your speaking/singing lines and props. You may also pay for admission in the foyer. You will jockey with others around a small circular table in the same area that serves: veggies, fried mushrooms, cheeses and variety of nibbles. Also the bar is there too, plus the restrooms. Dinner: I had beef medallions. Surprisingly good. My mom has salmon and it was tasty. GREAT? No — but better than I expected based on the reviews. Dessert was carrot cake(didn’t try it). There are 3 acts in between which meals are served. Drank: Momz ordered a Margarita which she slurped on down before I could get any feedback. Guess it was good. Show: It’s hokey in a good way. I actually laughed quite a bit. And was quite entertained by SOME patrons who took a few Nick Conti acting classes in preparation for their big night of stardom. A few folks really got into character and that made for priceless moments for the rest of us. The most hilarious are the individuals who struggled with reading their lines. maybe due to nerves or perhaps a touch of Tourette’s? There were times where I could not control myself and burst out laughing. in the most supportive way possible. The professional actors are really good. Cost: It’s a grip. I think in total I probably paid over $ 150. Pointers: If you’re not a HAM then try and ask for a part with nominal speaking. Seating is assigned so you will be sitting with strangers. Expect to interact and meet people you don’t know. If you’ve not a total lush then you’ll more than enjoy the 2 glasses of wine that come with the meal. The shows do not run every day so you will need to do some advanced planning to make sure you can get tickets. Hit up the website to find out dates for future shows. And leave a message on the answering machine — unlike most businesses they will call you back! And they will tell you if a show is wait-listed so that you can add your name to the waitlist. Overall if you have the money and you want to do something totally different and fun(plus you have about 3 hours to spare) — then try Agatha’s!

Had a fabulous time! I don’t know why there are so many bad experiences, but I would recommend for a special event(bday, anniversary, etc). Food was really ok. Not the best, but certainly not terrible. You’ll be pleased. Don’t let these other guys deter you.
