University Rentals

Absolutely terrible. They said in the lease that their «professional» cleaning crews would inspect and clean the house before we moved in. The house was filthy and had mice shit everywhere when we moved our stuff in. They also have the laziest repair employees. Took forever for them to come out and fix something as simple as a light fixture. Also, they have yet to return our deposit MONTHS after moving out. We’ve called several times and they have either dodged our calls or lied and said that they have sent the check in the mail multiple times. DO NOT GIVE THEM A CENT.

They’re such bad landlords that I sat here trying to remove the one star that they require to post a review. My girlfriend and I had almost the exact same experience with University Rentals as zach r. (We lived in two separate houses) When I moved in there was an enormous hole under my sink (I could see the foundation of the house) it was unpainted, with the patch work clearly visible, I decided to just put up posters and tapestries and not think about it since they said they were done painting and I couldn’t do it myself. The large front window was also falling out of the frame and was not fixed for over 8 months (this included the winter where I had to duct tape the window shut to keep the cold air out). They charged me a bogus rate for water, something that they just told me that I had to pay regardless of how they came up with the bill. The girls across the street actually moved out of one of their houses because it was so terrible. When I finally moved out this year they sent me a bill for damage to the apartment and refuse to answer their phone or respond to any inquiries I make. Also the entire first half of the year you have people coming in to view your apartment starting at 8 or 9 am and the notice may only show up the evening before. They clearly try to take advantage of the fact that they rent to college students with little money and little ability to stand up for them selves. They rent out a ton of properties and yet their offices are only open 9 – 3, and they only employ I believe 2 full time maintenance men. I know that people have had better experiences with other landlords and I would really steer clear of these guys. I am currently considering legal action.

Absolutely terrible.
The apartment was filthy when I moved in. There were holes in walls, lots of things wrong with it. Maintenance was also really slow and not effective. The roof leaked numerous times, the heater broke/​didnt work throughout the whole winter.
They then proceed to keep my full security deposit (and try to charge me $ 100 more) for damage to an apartment that is not mine… and then they choose not to answer their email or phone
