The Fresh Market

I have shopped here almost weekly for the past year and I would normally give the store 5 stars because their meat and produce departments are incredibly fresh and they have a great selection of bakery and organic items.
However, (and that is a big HOWEVER for me because I love cheese) their cheese department has been lacking in freshness. Three times I’ve found cheese I purchased to be sour and once I saw cheese displayed that was weeks past it’s labeled expiration.
I brought this to management’s attention today and they’ve assured me the issue will be addressed and were very friendly and apologetic. My money was returned happily since I brought my receipt back
with me.

Every single time I come here, the management is just fabulous!!! They absolutely go out of their way to help you with whatever you need!!!

I love this place. I can’t get all my shopping done here because it either doesn’t have it or I can get the same thing at Kroger for either cheaper or same price but earn credit towards gas. That aside, there’s always something interesting to buy and I always come out with more than I intended. It’s always worth popping in when I’m in the area. The staff is always nice and I’ve never seen a rude/​inconsiderate customer, so at least it attracts a good crowd.

This is my favorite grocery store – not cheap, but they have a terrific selection of fresh meats and fish, and some other goodies too. Some of their stuff is a good deal, but other items are quite cheap.

Everything in this place LOOKS amazing. However, almost everything that I’ve personally bought has been annoyingly flavorless.
Beautiful produce… flavorless. Lovely deserts… flavorless… Expensive bacon… flavorless… Chicken pot pie (from the deli)… flavorless.
I’ve learned that the prepackaged foods and the olive bar are the only things in this place worth actually buying. Unless you just want some food that is all look over substance; like for a decorative plate or something.

Management aside… The overall store isn’t bad. I really enjoy all the desserts and deli items they have. Though the last few have been oddly bad. Terriyaki sauce with dumplings is kinda hilarious in a bad way. The artichoke dip spread on the veggie sandwiches is more cheese than anything. My bad, it looked like a pesto. The broccoli salad is really nice though, and so are some of the wraps. Love the cookies and pies as well. The bakery really seems to be in order too.
There are a lot of cool items here. Some fairly rare and inaccessible unless using the Internet. Prices can, however, be outrageous in some avenues though. I’d really only stop here for specialty items. It’s more glitz than anything for grocery stores. I believe someone else mentioned it lacks substance and I’d have to agree. If you’re looking for snack choices this might be the place. There is an exorbitant amount of candy and chocolate.
As for management, they semi-​boarder psycho. I really wish I was joking. I shouldn’t be scared to walk through check out. These guys are a mess.
Food wise… not bad at all. Not deducting stars for management.**

This place has a great selection but I feel as if their prices are too high in comparison to the «green» products at Kroger right across the street. The same products shouldn’t be consistently at a $ 2-​$ 3 difference. Also, some times too much stuff is overwhelming and may lead to less business than anticipated. I find myself lost sometimes and the amount of choices causes me to leave without purchasing anything. However, the fresh food is amazing and I can’t fault the business for that.

I have to give Fresh Market 5 stars, because I am now addicted to their Peppermint Crème coffee. Staff seems very good (UGA music students and other interesting people). Coffee and freshly baked goods have lived up to expectations, and the meat selections look awesome. Prepared foods seem to be a strength, and if you are in the market for candies, nuts, or trail mix, they have barrels of such goodies ready to be scooped into bags. Classical music reigns in the store, which is a nice change of pace. Oh, did I mention… there are lots of expensive foods at this store? Yes, there are, but you can find affordable items if you try. :) Good for special occasions!
