I was afraid I’d have to get my Christmas tree at Walmart or one of the other box stores on State Street; I just moved to Athens from Chicago for grad school and didn’t know the local places. Luckily, I saw signs for Ruths’ Christmas Trees about 7.5 miles away from the 33/​Stimson Road intersection. A totally great guy, Boyd Ruth, can help you get what you’re looking for: you-​Choose and Cut varieties: Scotch Pine. PreCut varieties: Colorado Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, Eastern White Pine, Fraser Fir, Norway Spruce, White Pine. Living, rooted tree varieties: Colorado Blue Spruce, Eastern White Pine, Norway Spruce.
Easy to find: just follow the signs from 33. I can’t wait to go again next year.
