My wife went there for lunch today. Sign on window say 2 pc dark, 2 sides, and a roll, $ 4.00. She ordered it and it was almost $ 7. She mentioned it to the manager and he said it only applied if you ordered mashed potatoes and cole slaw as your sides. She stated that the sign did not mention that and his reply was, «That’s what is in the picture». Terrible service and misleading advertising. It’s not a wonder that there are hardly ever any customers there.

Lots of food. Chicken and fish are real good. Sides are average. We left stuffed and with extra food.

This place blows Chicken Express any of the other places like it out of the water. The food is cooked fresh and never frozen. The sides are so good. I recommend the green beans, okra, bread and corn fritters. They have baked chicken and fish along with the traditional fried goods. You get a lot of food in each meal. Also, the owner is a philanthropist and is always willing to help those in needs. It’s a great place to eat and a great place to support because of the outreach it has in the community.

Visited here for lunch today. WOW ! Got 2 fish fillets, a drum stick, 2 chicken livers and 2 gizzards with a large tea. Total was only about $ 8. The fish and drumstick were cooked perfectly. Crunchy cornmeal on the fish and crisp flour batter on the chicken. The chicken livers were cooked just right. No pink in the center but still creamy almost like butter. Gizzards were, well gizzards. You gotta love em to love em. Really impressed and will visit next time in Athens.
