Great little café on the outskirts of town but close to the bike path. Have outdoor seating in a shaded courtyard or out front by road. Delicious baked goods both savory and sweet from the local Village Bakery! Always a hit! Had the veggie quiche and a crumb bun muffin for breakfast-yummy! Great coffee selections too! Next time will try out the salads for lunch! .

I love the space at the catalyst café! Big windows overlook the Hocking River and let lots of natural light in. The coffee is fair trade, strong like I like it and delicious. They can make espresso drinks however your heart desires with soy milk to skim and all the milk is from Snowville Creamery! The baked goods, sandwiches and soups are all made the Village Bakery so they are full of good, locally sourced wholesome ingredients. Sure it’s a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. Quality product and that warm fuzzy feeling of being a responsible consumer!

This place is probably the most expensive café in Athens, but you are paying for local/organic/whatever products. I really like the space and the atmosphere and it’s a great place to get work done. However, they’re consistently understaffed and sometimes the baristas are kinda standoffish. I wish they had better weekend hours, too.

I’ve gotten the smoothies from Catalyst Café a few times and ocasionally a coffee. They seem to be very inconsistent when making the smoothies as sometimes they are great and other times the person making them doesn’t seem to have a clue as to what he or she is doing. Their shakes are good too and they use gelato that is made with Snowville Creamery milk which is delicious.
