Burrito Express

My family and I eat here quite regularly. The owners and staff are friendly and extremely professional. The restaurant is always clean and the food is always tasty. Some of my favorites are the Grilled Burrito with chicken and steak, cheese dip, the Texas Fajitas are excellent, Grilled Chicken Quesada is perfect for a quick snack, the Mexican Lasagna, wow! The margaritas are on point for those of you looking for a good drink. Prices are extremely reasonable. I can usually feed my family (wife and three boys) for about $ 40. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a new place to eat or someone just passing through. It will be well worth the time.

Moved here from Texas. Couldn’t believe the quality of the food. My wife was Hispanic and made fabulous Mexican dishes. The food was very delicious.

The service is not great. There is better Mexican food in town (like at Las Trojas) but this place has the best taco salad in town. They also really know how to do take out food. When I get take out, all the cold food (poco, sour cream, lettuce) is packed separately from the hot food, and I really appreciate that. It’s worth mentioning that they have a decent fish taco, too.

Not what I expected. I went there thinking this would be a fast food type order, and it isn’t. They do get you your food quickly, and you can get it to go, but it’s more of a sit down restaurant.
The best part about them was the food. It was surprisingly good! I was in a rush when I went, but I’m going to have to make a return trip to eat in the restaurant.

Good, fast, traditional Americana Mexican. Did I mention cheap lunch? Because you get wayyy more than you pay for during lunchtime (11:00−3:00)!

Great cheap Mexican with a clean fresh atmosphere. I’ll be back.

Always fast and consistently good. It’s not the most gourmet Mexican food in the area, but for the price and convenience it is unmatched.

Great food! Service a little slow. And actually they are now at 220 French Farms Blvd Suite B in Athens. The frozen strawberry margarita is great!

Found this cute little place on the way back from Florida while looking for another Mexican restaurant up the road that turned out to be closed. We arrived during what was likely the dinner rush and were promptly seated even though the restaurant looked hopping. I very much enjoyed my margarita and the kids were happy with their ‘American’ kids selections. This place looks to be brand new and seemed to be run by actual ‘people of descent’ so that makes me feel better about getting closer to the authentic taste of the cuisine. I got the veggie fajitas and absolutely scarfed them down as they were quite delicious and well seasoned. The server was more or less attentive (as I said the place was hoppin) and we were in an out in a decent amount of time given how large our group was. I would say that if you’re in the are this would be a good place to grab a bite. They are true to their name!

Burrito Express is the bomb diggity. They have a crazy eyed metal donkey outside, makes me smile every time. Inside, they have amazing fish tacos that are reasonably priced, as well as faaaantastic margaritas! Not only is the food good, it’s brought out by the coolest gold toothed waiter Ever.
We will be getting gold teeth together soon.
