Good donut and creative décor, but that’s about where it ends for me. Not that my opinion means much because they’re cash only and have groves of millennials waiting outside. I like that it’s BYOB but it’s so loud that it’s almost impossible to have a conversation. The food isn’t good at all, although all the fast food memorabilia and references remind you that it could be worse. A lot people call this place«creative». What’s so creative about putting bacon and mac and cheese in everything? Calling this new American cuisine is a step backwards in the pursuit of elevating the American kitchen. I think people are attracted by the atmosphere. I was really surprised, I thought there would be more substance. I had south by southwest which was ok. Someone in our party ordered bacon mac and cheese pancakes and they had no flavor or bacon or mac and cheese. It was just a dry bland pancake. Ive had better in a diner. And for $ 14 don’t give mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, it’s offensive and patronizing. I don’t think I’d ever go back, as well as to the new place, Flattop Grill. I like their hip hop and 90’s theme, but everything about these restaurants seem empty when it comes to the food. I’m more into food than atmosphere. The 2stars I gave was for the front of the house. Customer service was efficient and friendly. It’s not their fault the food is whack and obnoxiously unhealthy to a fault. I just don’t understand how so much success can come out of something so mediocre. Maybe the vision is to have a future fast food chain.

Incredible!!! The most fun I have ever had at brunch. Tips: don’t go If you’re too hungover: the music is loud and there is a DJ. It’s cash only. It’s BYOB. the host Avator makes the experience great from the start. You will likely have to wait but it’s worth it. The food is just as good as the atmosphere. It was on diners drive ins and dives. You really shouldn’t need more convincing than that. Enjoy!

First time coming here, came in a Saturday around 1pm. Was told about 15−30mins wait, but was seated within 5mins. You put your name along with a movie quote! So be prepare! Cause we werent. I ordered the spinach mushroom omelette and the bf ordered the breakfast burrito. Both good and lots of food, mine’s came w an arugula salad and we packed 1⁄3 of his burrito. We were seated fast and the food came just as fast. Seating is a bit cramped but it wasn’t something we couldn’t deal w. There’s a DJ playing, along with a random old movie. I love the décor and it’s so randomly old school, an old fashioned high school boy’s basement collections of comics, action figures and movie. Will try in the in the future, if ever in the neighborhood.

Cute place with a bunch of figurines! I came here yesterday with my friend to catch up over brunch. I loved the Atomic Fire Balls! Very creative… It’s deep-fried Mac-n-cheese stuffed in a ball with sriracha sauce. My friend thought it was pretty spicy, and I thought it was just right. It comes in 5. So my friend ordered the Voodoo Queen, which was a big sandwich filled with Fried Zucchini, Fried Shrimp, red onions, and Remoulade. It was a bit spicy. I wasn’t a crazy fan of it, but my friend was. I, on the other hand, ordered the Egg McRuffin. It was perfect for me. Bechamel, Cheddar, Smoked Bacon, Fried Egg, English Muffin, and it comes with Tots! A very satisfying meal! The bill came out to about $ 50, but I must say the portion was pretty big for two girls that can eat.

I have been wanting to check out Queens Comfort for some time now, and I finally got a chance for brunch on a Sunday morning. We arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 and placed our name on a list, manned by Avatar. Avatar, was my favorite part of the restaurant. To get on the list, you stand in a line and Avatar asks you a question which you have to provide an answer to, while he cracks jokes left and right. Your answer, is how he will seat you at the restaurant. After several laughs and waiting only 15 minutes, we were seated at the bar. The restaurant itself has the most amazing atmosphere. Filled with old school toys and Mr. Nanny playing in the background, the restaurant just beams with character. If only the food matched. I shared the chicken and waffle and the breakfast burrito. The chicken tasted plastic-y and I didn’t even eat it. The waffle was sweet, but again nothing special. The breakfast burrito, the better of our two orders, still lacked any sort of flavor. I loved this restaurant for Avatar and the décor, but the food was so bland and cheap tasting that unfortunately I don’t think I would return. Sigh — so disheartening, I wanted to love this place but the food quality is just so subpar. Cash Only, BYOB.

This place has always been on my list of places to try/book marked for the longest time. I loveee comfort food, and this place truly hit the spot and was pretty much everything I expected it to be. The location is perfectly outside of the Q18 bus, which was fortunate for me because that’s what I took to get there. haha. Anyways, coming on a Saturday early evening at 6pm, this place was pretty much empty except for one other party. The staff were sitting around just talking to each other, but got up quickly to greet my friend and I. and walked us over to our table. I do like their seating against the wall, since it is cushioned. but unfortunately the person sitting across from you will have to settle with a plain boring chair LOL. Their menu is pretty easy to see, with a simple range of food including burgers, mac and cheese, a special menu with empanadas, and drinks. I do want to point out that I’m a little biased for places that serve water in mason jars, and this place does that. I also want to say that I wish I came when it was a little darker, because I feel like it would look much nicer inside with the lights lit up. Anyways, the food came out relatively quickly and everything was very good. The(disco tots $ 8) tater tots were still crispy when they brought it out, but of course overtime the gravy caused it to be a little soggy but still delicious! The truffle mushroom mac and cheese($ 16) was one of the best that I have ever had. It was not overwhelming in its’ cheesiness and just the mushrooms and truffle complimented the whole dish pretty well. My friend had some type of chicken burger that I wasn’t a huge fan of. I would probably just skip the burgers. or maybe because my friend chose a chicken burger. I would give this establishment 5 stars had it not been for the fact that I felt very rushed during this sitting. Yes, the waiter would come and ask us if everything was alright and he would refill our water. But, he also came frequently to ask if we were finished and ready to go, or ready to pay the bill. that kind of thing. I understand these gestures if this place was BUSY and just completely bustling, but that was not the case. There was literally 20+ other tables that they could fill before making me feel like they wanted us out. and there was also no body walking in. **THISPLACEISCASHONLY** Note: This is kind of irrelevant but they were playing a lot of music from Chance the Rapper and my friend really appreciated their choice in music. Overall, it’s very good food and good ambiance. but probably not a place that you could just sit and talk with your friend over a meal.

The undisputed heavyweight Champs of brunch! This review is long overdue– I have been going here at least twice a month since I moved to Astoria(about 2 years ago now) and still not over it. The food is delicious-I have never had a bad meal for brunch or dinner and the atmosphere is so fun– kitschy décor and DJs(if you’re lucky you can catch Avatar free styling). For those of you who don’t know, Avatar is your Heimdall in this magical food universe(chances are if you are eating here you are a comic book junkie and get this reference). There is no one better suited for this job– he is warm, charismatic, and full of jokes. In the borough of Queens, this restaurant is king(and long live the king)

What they’re doing here is a really cool thing and that is totally shown by how popular the place is(lines around the block on weekends). A man who I assume to be the owner welcomes everyone to brunch and asks some questions about who is there for the first time and such. Today before entering we had to give him a favorite song lyric which was very entertaining! The service was extremely fast and extremely friendly. Donut Diva bakes special treats on the weekend and I was looking forward to trying one of her creations today. Unfortunately I’m not a huge cream cheese fan, so I wasn’t feeling today’s donut which was a chocolate raspberry cheesecake donut. However it looked spectacular for anyone who would like those flavors and it was huge. I ordered the corn flake crusted chicken and waffle and my boyfriend ordered the south of southwest Benedict. I didn’t love my meal only because there was a kick to it that I wasn’t expecting but that’s just my taste so no big deal. He loved his meal though! Hopefully I can get back here someday to try more food.

Hadn’t been here in a while, so came here with my girlfriend for lunch. She said the vegan burger here was the best vegan burger she’s ever had. As a non-vegan, I don’t really have a reference point, but it was pretty delicious. My burger(the one with fried jalapeños) was quite good — ordered it medium and it was juicy and flavorful. The fries were just eh – crinkle-cut(so, likely frozen) and not a lot of flavor. Needed to put a lot of salt and ketchup(and I usually never eat ketchup). Service was great. Will definitely come back.

I finally got to try this place out for brunch a few weeks ago. I was bracing myself for a super long wait time but my friend and I got there around 11:30am on a rainy-ish day so our total wait time was only 17 minutes! #Winning(It also helps to only have 2 people in your party) We met James Avatar, Queens Comfort’s personable, entertaining and funny host who dealt with the line. He asked us which TV show we wanted to be known as and of course my answer was«Gossip Girl» so he was able to keep it interesting during the short wait. There was a special and unique menu for brunch, with plenty of specials. I opted for the King Creole, which consisted of fried tilapia, mini waffle, poached egg and hollandaise sauce. My friend Drumpf Benedict, consisting of braised pork belly, mashed potato, crunchy brioche toast and the customary poached egg and hollandaise on top. To be honest, I think I enjoyed my friend’s dish a tiny bit more, but the one I ordered had a nice delicate flavor. The King Creole — This came looking beautiful, with cream colored sauce on top of the egg and dappling of orange sauce on the side. There was green onion and diced tomatoes on top and sprinkling of something yummy atop the sauce. The fried tilapia was delicious! It was both crispy and light. The tilapia was also well seasoned. I really enjoyed the waffle underneath the tilapia. It was slightly crunchy and sweet. The flavors of the waffle and tilapia went perfectly together. Drumpf Benedict — This was a more savory, hearty entrée. I loved the taste of the pork belly — tender, juicy, wonderful! The mashed potato, bacon and egg all mingled together well with the pork belly, making this meal incredibly yummy with several layers of distinct and amazing bites. Then we had dessert of birthday cake bread pudding… Sounds delectable right? Unfortunately, it wasn’t really what my friend and I were expecting and we wish we had gone with the Captain Crunch Cake Donut. I like my bread pudding to be warm and gooey, but the dessert we got was neither. It was just a dense square cake of marbleized colors with sprinkles and a ton of whipped cream on top. It was still a little warm though and it tasted decent, though a bit too sweet. Overall, I had a wonderful time at this restaurant and there was great service, as well as enjoyable music and atmosphere. I would definitely come back for dinner to try out other menu items and hopefully get better dessert options!

Earlier this morning a group of friends and myself took a drive into Astoria — from Brooklyn. This extensive trip was well worth the journey though, because this tiny establishment is a gem of New York. We arrived at 10:30am and weren’t seated until almost noon, and this is something to unfortunately expect due to the obvious reputation of this place. You’ll encounter many people standing outside waiting to get in, and once you do, it’s an experience you’ll never forget. **BTW it’s also BYOB! Feel free to also bring prosecco to make your own mimosas with your brunch. I ordered the Egg McRuffin, a delicious plate of an English muffin with a fried egg, bacon, cheese, and scallions, with a side of tater tots. Everyone else ordered something different but we all left satisfied and full. Even hours later we are sitting around talking about how Queens Comfort needs to open another location or consider expanding their current spot because honestly, we need more of it. What a deliciously unexpected morning, something I needed!

I’ve been trying to go here for a while now, but the lines are always so ridiculous for brunch. My friends invited me here for lunch on a Friday and we were seated right away. We brought our own bottle of champagne and asked for a pitcher of OJ and we made our own mimosas. The menu scared me. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was deep fried or covered in bacon and red meat. I know, I know–«Queens COMFORT», but still– you can have one grilled option, no? Just one? Anyway, I was in between a breakfast sandwich or the veggie burger and asked the server for help and he was a wee bit too sarcastic for me. I laughed along but it was a little douchey… I went for the veggie burger with a side salad and it was delicious!!! Literally only giving it four stars because of the food, otherwise it would have been a three. I’m definitely going back for the veggie burger.

Love the atmosphere in here. I didn’t get to ordered a doughnut because we were super stuffed and still had a long day ahead, therefore, couldn’t order one to go. The hostess is super nice and friendly. He kept the crow happy and was telling joke to keep us busy while waiting for tables to open up. I ordered atomic fire balls and OMG i am a fan! super delicious with a kick(btw I don’t even like mac and cheese) but these little atomic fire balls were amazing and just the right size. Also had the corn flake crusted boneless chicken and waffles, not that amazing I mean it wasn’t dry but it also wasn’t tasty, it was pretty bland I added hot sauce which was ok. All in all these place is about an hour and half from me therefore, I wont be going there often, but will be back for more atomic fire balls.

A solid spot with comfort food, and one of the most amazing brunch experiences I ever had is here at Queens Comfort! If you are an Eggs Benedict lover, this will be heaven for you! Been here a few times before and enjoyed it each time! If you are a pop culture geek, you will definitely appreciate comic books and superhero toys on display. Before they open at 10:00AM, there are no surprises that there is already a line. My companion and I arrived at 9:45AM and we were the 7th party to enter. James Avatar, the host was extremely entertaining, therefore the wait time went by quicker. In order to enter, you must answer a question. For this specific Sunday brunch day, what is our foodie movie title? Mashing up food and movie titles together. He will then shout your party and your answer out. Our entrance answer was ‘Guardians of the Eggs Benedict’; HAHA, okay not that funny… but he granted us entrance! Other patrons came up with pretty creative ones. It is a great way to get everyone involved and keep our minds off of the wait time! I tried a few items before from my visits which includes the Atomic Fire Balls, Disco Tots, Avocado & Bacon Benedict, American Hardcore Benedict, The Perfect Storm, and the Egg McRuffin. Atomic Fire Balls are deep fried mac and cheese with sriracha and ranch. Hot, spicy, and cheesy. Yes, it is heated but the ranch can help cool it down a bit. Disco Tots are probably everyone’s favorite and their most infamous dish here — the gravy and cheddar was just the perfect match for the tator tots, sorry ketchup. There are so many eggs benedict choices here and they all look so good. I opt for Avocado & Bacon: poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, red pepper coulis, fresh avocado, and thick pecan bacon on top of the soft buttermilk biscuit. This is my overall favorite dish. The Perfect Storm — smoked salmon eggs benedict with spinach, and red pepper coulis, on top of a mashed potato patty. An interesting twist to the regular eggs benedict. Egg McRuffin. This is a super heavy dish! English muffins topped with LOTS of cheese and pieces of smoked bacon with tator tots on the side. This is a tasty dish and it’s a lot for one sitting for me. This is for the hungry! Overall, a great brunch spot and definitely worth a visit or two. I would highly suggest coming at least a half hour before they open — maybe even earlier on sunny, warm days!

The host is so very charming. You’ll understand because this place always has a line and he’ll come by to check up on you to make sure you’re not having the most miserable time waiting for a table. Let’s just say he’s a party starter. If you make it inside after suppressing your hunger for 2 hours, you’ll see that it’s a super poppin place. Widely decorated, a DJ playing live music, and loads of hungry people crammed into one small place. So trust me, you don’t come here for a date. It’s loud and you can’t really hear anyone. It’s more of a feel good place. I’m not sure how I feel about this place weighing in the prices of the dishes. I don’t regret coming here as my perfect storm brunch dish was pretty good, but I don’t know if it was big enough to be a filling brunch entrée for $ 16. Maybe the 2 hour wait built up my hunger to immense amounts, but I wasn’t satisfied at the end. I couldn’t help but think about how much bigger this dish would’ve been if I went to my local diner and ordered a smoked salmon eggs Benedict. But I don’t have any complaints. The disco tots were good as any tater tots covered in melting cheese would be. I don’t know if I’ll come back. If I do, I surely wouldn’t wait that long ever again. Maybe I’ll get the fried French toast. Someone nearby got it and it looked like a donut for breakfast.

I’d like to consider myself a brunch-chaser. Always looking for a cool place to have brunch on the weekends and eat myself into a food coma. I got that experience by coming to Queens Comfort. That super-duper comfort food that leaves you wanting more and wanting to come back every weekend. I heard about the long waits from reading prior Unilocal reviews but sheesh. I think we stood on that line for about 50 minutes before we got seated. And although it was well worth the wait, next time I will be sure to arrive before 10am to beat the massive crowd. The restaurant is pretty small but its really quirky. They have managed to create a vibe in there that is specific to Queens Comfort. The live DJ and the staff really get you in the mood to just turn up as you either chow down, get drunk or are just waiting on your food. –Its BYOB –Cash only(ATM on site) –No Reservations –No parties over 8 –The menu gets changed frequently so you always have a reason to come back and try something new –its pretty loud if that’s not your thing Everything I ordered was really good. The atomic fire balls are fried mac & cheese balls with sriracha and ranch sauce — spicy but yummy. The chicken from my chicken and waffles had the best glaze on it – omg cornflake crusted and glazed with a maple hot sauce — perfection. The disco tots are my favorite because who doesn’t love tots covered in cheese and gravy lol. Everything. really everything was amazing and I cannot wait to come back. I’m already checking out their new menu on their website decided on what I’m going to order for this weekend!

Best brunch ever! Seriously! My friend and I arrived around 10:15 am when they were opening. The line was already there. No problem. We were anticipating a line. The guy at the front named James made the experience hilarious. Calling people in based on their favorite cartoon character. He was a lively source of entertainment during the wait. We waited about 45 minutes to get inside. Upon entering the music is loud. The DJ was spinning great hiphop and R&B. Some tunes from the 90s and all the way up to present day. The place was packed. There’s definitely a cool vibe in there. The waiter came over quickly and we placed our orders. According to the waiter they are known for their Benedicts so I decided to try the American one with a lemonade. My friend had one with pulled pork. Everything was delicious! The serving looked small but it was just the right amount to fill us up. While the wait outside seemed a little long, the food arrived so fast! It made it worth the while. Not wanting to leave right a away we decided to get dessert. The bread pudding was so good with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. The Oreo donut was great as well with a homemade marshmallow on top. We struggled to finish those. Very sweet and the perfect end to our meal. On the way out we were reminded to come again, given a hug and told to bring more girls! Hilarious! We will definitely be back for a dinner service sometime in the near future!

I absolutely love the food at Queens Comfort! The only thing that is not pleasant is the usual brunch hour wait. Dinner is not as terrible however and you get pretty much the same food options. I loved seeing upon this visit that hey introduced a new menu which was animated with cool cartoons. My usual favorite is the chicken and waffles but since I’m meat free for the lent season I chose the Quinoa Lentil Vegan burger option instead. Still delicious and nutritious especially since I had already ordered the atomic Mac and cheese balls fried with a breaded crust and oozing in spice and cheese awesomeness. Make sure you are aware it is definitely spicy!!! It was crazy busy during the 8PM dinner time we arrived at so we expected delays. My friend and I had brought two bottles of Prosecco(love the BYOB) and we’re happy with our drinks. We were served the atomic Mac and cheese balls rather quickly and were looking forward to getting our dinner in such timely fashion. Unfortunately, due to a mix up our order was not served until about an hour later. Our server Luke was on it as soon as we said something and comped us a delicious Oreo icebox came which was just as it sounds like an Oreo ice cream cake with tons of cream and just the right amount of Oreos to make it perfect:) As always, will be back to try some of the new additions to their menu like the buffalo chicken and waffles!!! Thanks again to Luke for looking out for us that night! The two bottles of Prosecco sure did us in that night… But the food helped soak up some of that booze thankfully!

This is the kind of place where you wish if you lived right next to it, but at the same time, you are glad that they are nowhere near where you live(so that you won’t gain crazy amount of weight by eating there every day). The inside is still full of «interesting» little decorations all over, some of them are cute, but some others could be more more towards scary than cute??? They know how to keep you entertained from the beginning to the end, everywhere you look, there is something interesting. The main item at this place(for us) is the donuts. Since they make different kind every weekend, we were excited for the donuts. And, since they only make limited number of them per day, we made sure to order it first. On this day, we ordered one of their benedict and French Toast. The benedict dish was not so great, but the french toast was a hit, and of course, the donut was awesome. They can’t have every single item to my liking, but I know they do amazing stuff here. The staff were courteous and friendly, and remember to bring cash — it is cash only!
