This is some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my whole life. Seriously wow. There’s no words to express how many flavors and juices are just flowing from the meats

This may be the best middle eastern kabab place in NYC. Everything is delicious! Their platter with 2 kinds of rice, salad, and 2 kinds of soup can feed 2 people. If you are in the area, definitely need to check it out.

This is by far the best kabab in NYC. Best I’ve had in the world. Lamb kofte is out of control. Tahini, tzatziki and hot sauce in a pita and you are set for life. Turn up. This is the real shit.

In terms of quality of food, there is no better cart in New York City. They cook the meat right in front of you over a charcoal grill and that’s why it usually takes about 20 minutes for you to get your food but it is 100% worth it. The meat is so fresh, so clean, so juicy — amazing place.

Salamulikum to all the brothers & sisters reading this, I cannot believe I never left a review for this halal cart. Ok let me start by saying I have been coming here for so long I cannot fathom to remember anymore. I call them aka«The Mean Guys», their service is straight up mean but once you taste buds gets smacked by those Kebobs, you’ll be like this food is MEAN too. But I got nothing except LUV for my brothers behind the grill, they are very hard working. Point Blank… if your dying of hunger or just plainly on the munchies… You better getchyo A$$ in there ASAP. I strongly recommend the Half Chicken over Rice w/Beef Kofta on the side w/Rice. PS. Order in advance because they will take minimum 20 – 25 mins to prepare your delicious mind blowing food.

It’s amazing! I felt I’m in Egypt again! The only disappointing thing that they don’t have everything in menu on weekdays! But they promised to try. Try Kofta, Kebab, Tarb, Lamb Note: Kebab is not tinder enough that’s why I gave 3 stars but 5 stars for all other options. Please buy better meat!

This is one of the best street carts in NYC. Their sandwiches are just great. Love the chicken sandwich. I highly recommend to call ahead. It takes about 20 – 25 mins to make a sandwich. Its not fast food by any stretch of the imagination. They slowly grill it over charcoal. And they put the meat over fire after you order. Hot sauce is an option. So, if you like your sandwich to have a little kick, make sure to ask. Never tried their rice platter. That should be next.

I simply love this little spot. For a couple of bucks I get a huge quality sandwich that was cooked over charcoal right in front of me! They set raw meat onto a skewer and make every order from scratch, which delivers an unbelievable taste. They use romaine lettuce instead of iceberg like most people which adds quality and taste to it. The only downside is that it takes about 15 minutes to get your food ready, but it’s worth the wait.

THEBESTCHICKENINNYC! Soooo afordable! You have to wait… so be patient… everything is made fresh and to order and so worth the wait. With a half, charcoal roasted chicken you get the chicken, pilaf in broth, a great salad, aromatic rice and a veggie or bean side. Ah-mazing!

Open for dinner and late night. Almost always a line. The Man on the Grill is a true Master. I usually order chicken kebab over spicy rice with salad and a side soup. Fresh juicy and hot. Has to be the best street meat in Astoria. You will have to wait. There is a constant flow of people ordering, plus it takes time to cook. They have shwarma, different kebabs, kofta, lamb chops, you can have a sandwich or over rice. Soups are great homemade, and yellow rice or spicy rice. Awesome grill, be patient and polite and you will get amazing food. Open really late, sometimes past 3am. Only problem if you go late they might be sold out of certain items.

Great spot! I give this place 6 or 7 if I could… this place is very welcoming and serves great food! I came in for a quick bitez before my appointment and ordered a chicken kebab. It was fresh and tasted great, I could tell they use quality ingredients. The food is fantastic… And wow, the portions were really big… super filling and affordable. The portions were generous, the prices reasonable and the food… exquisite! The service here is great too, from a friendly staff. A solid winner!

One taste of the grilled chicken over salad and I wanted more. The taste of juicy charcoal cooked chicken is unlike any other I’ve tried. The plate comes with about 10 pieces of chicken with a side salad. It costs about $ 7 and is very well priced. My bf gets the beef baguette which is also mouth watering and satisfying. Tip: if you want yogurt sauce or hot sauce in the sandwich you have to let them know. Same thing for when you get the platters. Last time I came they forgot the sauce!

Interesting little truck. Have walked past here a number of times and it’s always an odd scene. Tons of middle easterners standing around, smoking cigarettes, playing backgammon and chatting. Last Friday night I was in the mood for some lamb and decided to try it out rather than going to Little Morocco or Halal Sandwich(both great establishments in their own right). I arrived at about 9:30 Friday night and upon arriving the ordering was very tricky, especially if you don’t speak the language(Arabic I’m guessing). After about 10 minutes of aimlessly standing around I ordered a Lamb Sandwich. There were about 20 people standing by the truck waiting for their food. Ended up talking to one of their patrons who drives from Jaimaca to get 2 sandwiches(1 for now, 1 for tomorrow) every Friday night from this place, now that is serious dedication. He assured me though that he only orders when a certain man is manning the grill. My sandwich was huge, and took about 30 minutes to get ready. The value was great($ 6 for a monster sub). The flavors just weren’t there, I was expecting some succulent juicy lamb and to be honest it was a little dry. I will try again and ask for some hot sauce next time, but maybe not on a Friday Night.

This is my favorite food cart in Astoria, in a crowded great place for street food. Halal half chicken, chicken and beef kababs, cooked year round over charcoal. Absolutely delicious, and though the other reviewer felt the platters weren’t a good value, I have to say I disagree. Platters are amazing, if you get the half chicken, it comes with two soups typically(depending on supply) and a salad. Its served over two types of rice, and though I usually get this platter for myself, the meal could easily be shared between two people. At ten bucks, well worth it. This is my favorite dish here, though the kabab sandwiches are great, reasonably priced, and served on toasted bread with the dough pulled out. A couple of tips here, Sundays and dinner time hours you’ll find yourself waiting for a long time, so be prepared to wait. It takes at least ten minutes even when there isn’t a long wait. Though it says they deliver, I don’t think that they do. I think they’re overwhelmed with orders, and won’t answer the number listed. I’ve tried, on several occasions, to call ahead for pickup without any luck. The last thing would mention is to ask for tahini. They used to only serve tahini and hot sause, but with the popularity of the ubiquitous white sauce, think they caved because everyone asks for it. Really great charcoal grilled food here.

Kofta is cooked on charcoal just like Egypt. Don’t act like a tourist. Sandwiches are $ 6. I think the lamb platter is overpriced. Reesha(The guy taking your order) looks intimidating but he’s actually funny and personable! Order from the left side of the cart
