What’s the deal with Washington State, and their penchant for naming state landmarks in such a depressing fashion? Cape Disappointment? Dismal Nitch? Regardless of the emotional rain cloud hanging over Washington State, we enjoyed the view here. WA4 is such a pretty drive back to Portland via Longview, and a welcome break from the usual Hwy 30 on the Oregon side that I’m used to.

a clean bathroom to use and say you were in washington from oregon across the bridge that it borders. also has maps to get your bearings, and a clear view of the astoria bridge. you’re not supposed to stay overnight, but i did note the RVs parked for the night during my passing through. reception is good for AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon phones.
