Gotta be kidding, this place screwed up my photo 3 times this year. If they can’t do B&W, they shouldn’t take the order. And color photos came out really yellow-ish. I had the very same negative printed at RiteAide in the area, and sure enough the RiteAide photo quality was much better(and cheaper) I asked someone who does photo for living and she told us that this shop is probably using old liquids to finish the photo. I’m really annoying with the store worker who doesn’t admit they screwed up the printing. And he never calls us when the photo is done(even when he promised and wrote down on the order. jeez!) Not recommended at all.

one day a while back, i took a flash card with a handful of images to each of the digital photo printing places in this neighborhood(both pharmacies, copycom, etc). digi photo was the only spot where i had the option of adding a white border to the prints, had the nicest service, and the print quality was *by far* the best. at 19c a print for 4×6’s,(to 50, then there’s a discount) they are a couple of cents over the competition, but what a difference. i have had large prints framed here, and while not completely without incident, the price was great, and they worked diligently, politely and patiently to resolve the few mat cutting problems(overcut/inaccurate angles) the job experienced. oh, and they develop 120 film, same day.

Along the ever busy 31st Avenue in Astoria, lies this little photo shop that goes unnoticed between the bustle of bakeries, restaurants, and stores. Owned and operated by a Korean couple, Digi Photo is a solid place for photography services from cropping to customized framing. The service is super friendly and very helpful. For each time that I’ve visited, I was always the only one in the store. I just hope they stay in business because the prices are pretty reasonable, one just has to be very specific with them for various projects. Things could be greatly improved if they had a website detailing their services as well. They only have an email address for now( ) and no fax that I know about. From the outside, its not obvious that its a store specializing in various services aside from photography. Also, they tend to close early sometimes, I gather its due to slow business. Normally they close around 7PM on weekdays /4PM on Saturday and are not open on Sunday. Ultimately, they do a solid job all around, with my favorite being their custom framing. Photos will always vary depending on the quality /resolution one is sending them but they’re one of the rare stores in the area that does what they do.
