Ace Furniture

I had a really great experience here working with Janet, the only person who really helped me during my quest to find a dining room table and mattress for my NY apt!
I was walking (hobbling?) around Steinway St on a sprained ankle, stopping at furniture stores where the salespeople barely looked at me, or just directed me to catalogs and left me to fend for myself.
When I finally walked (staggered?) into Ace, Janet jumped out of her chair, helped me try out some mattresses (after asking me what I liked in a mattress), and honestly gave me way better service with the mattresses than the guy at Sleepy’s did!
And when I told her that I was looking for a dining room table, she asked me questions (I know, she actually asked me questions!) about what dimensioned table I was looking for as well as design style I was looking for (and budget), and found me a few tables within her catalog that actually fit into what I was looking for. No «go look through these giant stacks of catalogs and let me know if you need help». It was, «this fits exactly what you were looking for, this is the pricing» which I needed after the frustrating day I had!
Maybe it’s because I had stopped at no less than 6 different furniture stores before coming here (where I was mostly ignored), but I was really pleasantly surprised at the level of service I was shown here, and I appreciated the level of salesmanship Janet showed.
So I ended up ordering a whole mess of furniture here, and left satisfied that I got everything I wanted (and it’s set to be delivered in a few days)! They were available to deliver it seriously the next day (which didn’t really work with my schedule), and were just so pleasant to work with!

After coming remarkably close to shoving an icepick through my eye after dealing with the cluster of furniture stores around Steinway/​Broadway, I had little hope when I walked into Ace. But it was on my way home, and I was already pretty dejected, so who cares if one more furniture store takes a piss on my open icepick wound.
Turns out, the guy here is remarkably friendly and helpful. The only downside was that nothing I wanted was in stock. But at least he didn’t pee on me.
