I went to Main Street Bakery for breakfast. It was a beautiful day and I sat outside on the patio. I had the so-cal omelette which was delicious with fresh avocado. They also gave me homemade raspberry jam for my toast. Delish! Service was prompt and very friendly! Highly recommend this spot and hope to come back!

What a nice spot to grab breakfast or lunch. The staff is friendly. The restaurant is super cute it Reminds me of an old southern home. And the food is good. We decided to drop in because we were in need of coffee and soup. The waitress greeted us promptly and took great care of us during our visit. The chicken noodle soup was just like home cooking. It was hearty, filled with lots of meat and vegetables and had a great flavor. The croque Monsieur sandwich was just as yummy too. I finished my entire soup and sandwich combo and usually that’s rare. Definitely a nice place to start your day in aspen. Plus their desserts looked absolutely delicious but after my weekend of bad eating I decided to skip the sugar overload.

The place is small with a friendly ambience. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The pancakes were delicious. Did not try the pastries but the biscuit that came with my dish was soooo good. Definitely worth a try.

Great local atmosphere, friendly service and amazing food. Our foursome was seated with another gentleman, just like when we lived in Europe. What a special memory of how we can be more open in this country.

A big mistake! As I enjoyed a very delicious breakfast at the Main St Bakery local’s table, complete with smiling & friendly service from the staff, my mistake became clear. I was sitting at the same table with the business owner, who was ventilating wholeheartedly about the recent death of US Supreme Court Justice Scalia. Now I am no Scalia fan, but I am a fan of the US Constitution, and the right to free speech and personal beliefs is dear to me, as I believe it is to most Americans. However, I certainly did not expect to be entertained by the owner’s rant, where he bragged«we’ve got the Senate locked up, that n***** Obama will never get a new Justice through.» So while I support the owner’s right to hold and verbalize any and all opinions which may serve to highlight his ignorance, lack of education, or simply racist thoughts, it was a huge mistake on my part to dine at Main St Bakery. In the interest of public service, I wanted to share, so that you don’t make the same mistake I did. I certainly hope this letter gets printed in Spanish, as I am sure that the largely(hard working, friendly, under-paid, loyal) Latino staff may be interested to know how their business owner feels about anyone who is not a rich old white man.

The blueberry muffins here are extraordinary. They are one of the best that I’ve had in a long time I give them a 5 star rating for sure. I also had the cinnamon raisin french toast. It had slivered almonds on the top of it. I thought it was good but not great. I had high expectations but would only give it 3 stars. If you do come there’s quite a selection of baked goods to peruse and I’m sure you’ll find something that will interest you.

when we had a chance we stopped by this place, specially Sunday’s but not what it use to be. This last visit was disappointing, service was slow, food was not that appealing, greasy potatoes, overcooked eggs Benedict, lumpy hollandaise. Not worth the wait nor the hassle, better places in town.

First time, nice homely café. The biscuits and gravy with eggs was well portioned and tasted good. Very traditional. Coffee was quality. Staff was friendly even though it was very busy.

The place is THE place for lunch. The Ruben sandwich is delish and the beef stew is the bomb. The waitress, Ashley, is extra nice :-) will come back again for sure.

Main Street Bakery & Café is a great breakfast spot with a cozy atmosphere, killer coffee, and delicious food. I had the Eggs Monterery and it was so good, I had it the next day too. My colleague had the pancakes with bacon and he thought they were superb. The story is that the pancake recipe is the owner’s late grandmother’s recipe and well, it’s a keeper ;-) Our waitress(a nursing student at Colorado Mountain College) was just as cute as she could be and delightful to talk to not to mention her great attitude and excellent service. I definitely recommend this as a great place to start your day!

I didn’t think this was anything special. The cheese danish was not good. I wouldn’t go back considering the other options in the area.

It pains me to write this review because the Main Street Bakery in Aspen is such a cozy little place with a tranquil outdoor dining area, it invites you to come in and stay for a while. The food here, especially the breakfast menu, is very good, with an excellent variety of options, including egg dishes, pancakes, french toast and other goodies. Here is where the good story ends. The morning we ate there, we waited for a good 10 minutes before our server finally appeared after we were seated. He took our coffee orders and then quickly disappeared for another 10 minutes. When he came back to our table, he asked what we would like to drink. He had completely forgotten our coffee orders! My wife and looked at each other with that Twilight Zone stare that often accompanies uncomfortable situations. It suddenly dawned on the guy that had already taken our drink orders, so he again disappeared for five minutes and came back with only my coffee drink, and no sign of my wife’s. But at least he took our food order. Fifteen minutes later, my wife’s coffee showed, followed by another 20 minute wait for our food. We were about to get up and leave when our disappearing server finally showed up with our breakfasts. The food here is good, but you’ll have to bring a lot of patience and time to kill if you have breakfast here. We won’t be back.

Main Street Bakery provides some really inconsistent service and products. My first visit here was a 1.5 star visit, and the second one was a 3.5 star visit. The first time I came here was on the 4th of July for a coffee before work and, apparently, before the parade. I was surprised at the reasonable prices, comparable to a Starbucks. The service was painfully slow. I waited 20 minutes from order to Cappuccino. To my initial disappointment, only half of the cup was full. But after a sip, I didn’t care. The cappuccino tasted like I imagine dirty socks do. It was dreadful and not drinkable. I would never order any beverage here again. Later, a friend insisted that we come here for breakfast. I was reluctant at first, but I decided to give the place a second chance. I played it simple and ordered a single slice of quiche lorraine($ 5.95). The quiche tasted good, was a large piece, and the price was reasonable. I also got a raspberry truffle brownie($ 2.95) that lasted two meals and was delicious. The service the second time was much better, but the actual product is fairly standard for Aspen. I would never go out of my way to come here, but it’s an A-OK option in Aspen.

After searching for a bakery and finding many of them closed for the day or permanently, our family decided to stop here for a treat. The dining room was basically empty when we entered since it was a nice day and everyone was eating outside. There were more than enough staff lingering and speaking loudly to each other. Most of the trays were empty or almost empty in the display case so we settled on some cupcakes and drinks. But after trying to eat the red velvet cupcake I ordered, I realized that it was frozen solid. And what I was able to bite off tasted majorly of freezer burn. I returned to the counter to ask for a replacement cupcake and they reluctantly exchanged it. It was not bad but the frosting was more of a whipped cream topping than actual frosting. With the staff buzzing around us and dishes clanging, it wasn’t the most welcoming atmosphere and the selection at the ‘bakery’ was less than you’d expect. Overall, a disappointment.

I’d read that this was a great place for breakfast, so after a run my husband I came here. The staff was busy and could possibly benefit from some signage re someone will seat you and or to go orders can be placed at the counter. Everyone was friendly to us however. First, I had my mind blown by a mimosa with fresh squeezed OJ. I can’t believe that I’ve never had it that way. It was dangerously amazing. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, which are life changing biscuits and gravy. I will fantasize about those until our return. I got the florentine omelet which was also delicious but paled in comparison to the biscuits of course. We also drooled over the baked goods in the glass, but never pulled the trigger! Can’t wait to go back!

Wow delicious! Fave breakfast spot by far! Last meal before flight back to la. Took a bite of the biscuit– perfect. Had Alaskan Benedict and it was the best I’ve had! The gluten free muffin was fantastic, sauce perfect flavor, everything fresh! The hash browns and cheese grits were also delicious. I need to workout after that but was so worth it!

Love this little gem! We went there twice during our stay in Aspen, both times for takeout breakfast. It will take a bit of time for your order to be ready, so here’s a tip… order and then wait outside on a bench, or take a little stroll through downtown. We tried the breakfast sandwiches and the granola with berries and yogurt. Everything was fresh and delicious. I loved seeing locals and tourists alike. Definitely make this a stop in Aspen.

Service was fantastic. Everyone was kind and the food was great. I had both the Kale and the Quinoa salads. I poured the quinoa atop the kale Bön appetite!
