This is the guide company you need to hit up if you are looking for a great adventure. I joined an all-women, Intro to backcountry hut trip just outside Aspen. 2 nights, 3 days of really fun skiing above treeline. Our guides Sammy P. and Kelli R. were amazing! Great personalities, SUPER knowledgeable, awesome to be with during the whole trip. They took the time to go over what each one of us wanted to learn more about whether it was navigating avi terrain, skiing bigger lines, determining snow conditions, and we even did 2 mock rescues. While we got to learn a LOT the conditions were AMAZING! Fresh powdery snow fell overnight each night and we took advantage of the great conditions. We skied a lot! I highly recommend signing up for a guided trip touring the backcountry with Aspen Expeditions. It was a trip I will never forget and cannot wait to do it again.

My fiancé and I recently had our first outdoor climbing experience in Aspen(we climbed Independence Pass). Our guide, Mike, was absolutely incredible. We explained that we had experience climbing indoors, but had never climbed outdoors nor had we done lead roping — he taught us the latter, and made the former an absolute joy. Mike found routes for us that were challenging but do-able, gave us pointers when we needed/asked for them(but let us figure out the puzzle on our own a lot of times, which I really appreciated), and even let us run over time to do one more climb. When we got stuck on a route, Mike would climb it and mark good holds with chalk. And, when I took a solid 20 minutes on one route, he didn’t rush me or make me feel like a poor climber at all. Overall, a fantastic experience that was well worth the money. We’ll cherish the experience for long to come! Note: Aspen Expeditions does climbing tours for level Beginner — Advanced. Mike told us that he has many«regulars» who visit him from all over to climb, and that he’ll meet up with clients to climb in Argentina, all over Europe, etc.

Up for an adventure? These are the guys to go to in Aspen. We did a half day of ice climbing; a strenuous but exhilarating experience. The ice waterfall you climb is about a 20 minute hike into a park. You do need to carry some gear and the fresh snow made the élan a little tough, but the terrain was flat. Our guide then secured the belay line and showed us how to ice climb. My wife and I have no experience and low to moderate athletic abilities(we are not rock climbers). Swinging that ice tool into the ice and starting your climb is a rush, but pace yourself. It is a difficult climb to the top. Highly recommend the experience. Average athletic ability recommended.
