Hi. I have a complaint about the front desk customer service, specifically involving an incident with a young, red-haired female employee. I used to enjoy golfing at Rolling Meadows on a fairly regular basis with my friends and family. Not only because it’s in the neighborhood but also because of the friendly environment. It’s essentially where I first picked up a golf club and many of the holes are near and dear to my heart. As a teenager I worked three summers at Rolling Meadows golf course as a grounds keeper and I am also a former club champion at this course. Sunday, May 3rd, I went there around 4pm with my girlfriend and a friend planning to do the 9 holes walking and we left frustrated and disgusted by the front desk employee’s attitude. It was a sequence of «I don’t give a shit» behaviors to the point that we decided to go to another golf course instead of dealing with this inexcusable treatment. Upon first entering the clubhouse, she didn’t acknowledge our presence for a while. We literally stood in front of the desk for about 2 minutes before she decided to look up. There was no” Hi, How are you?” Or even a «Hello». Before we could even say what we wanted, she started to take our names and marked us down for 18 holes and a cart. We told her we only wanted 9 holes walking, so she rid of the cart papers and ringed us up for 21 dollars. She then recommended we get a cart, since it would only be two dollars more for 9 holes. We agreed to her recommendation. Upon filling out the cart papers again she proceeded to ask for 27 dollars, which is what the price was for 18 holes. We looked a little dumbfounded at each other until she decided to get nasty. She went on to say«YOUNEEDTODECIDEWHATYOUWANT, YOUKEEPCHANGINGYOURMINDALLTHETIME!». That is the point where we decided we would rather golf at an equally priced course with friendly staff than be treated like dirt. I really hope that is not the standard customer service provided. Because of this, I am hesitant to return. Again, I can’t stress enough how much this course means to me, personally, and I hope this employee can be dealt with appropriately. Best, Justin Trouttman
