We had an absolutely great night out. Our appetizer, the Zucchini fingers are mouth watering. And although the wait for our entrée was a tad long the meal was delicious and worth having to hold off on bread and sides. Our server, Lori was fantastic and was quite possibly one of the best we have ever had at any restaurant.

I used to love this place. It was my go to. However, tonight I had a $ 19.95 petite top sirloin. Which was 7 oz. 2 of those ounces where fat. There are so many places in town that are better to spend your money at. By the way… My friend was peed on in this venue… Inside the bar, BYONEOFTHECOOKS. Who was allowed to keep his job. I wish I was making this up. All that was done was chairs were put up for a barricade. And we were asked if we were lying. We saw everything and so did many other witnesses. Such a messed up state of affairs. Avoid.

This dinner was such a disappointment. Atmosphere and environment … cold. Service, fair at best. Steak tough grizzly … potato not cooked well… gummy. Wine, bitter. Come on Omars … you need to step it up.

It took me buying a home an 8 minute walk from Omar’s to finally make it there. I have definitely been missing out. Their ‘Super Burger’ is insanely good with a bun that gets out of the way of the meat. The beer selection is decent, the drinks are strong and the vibe is relaxed, friendly and unpretentious. There’s a lot more of the menu to check out especially the oysters and catfish. Lucky to have e such a gem so close to home.

I’m a musician and tour all over the world. I have played Ashland, Oregon many times. We always played Alex’s which was a fantastic restaurant as well as a fun music venue. They have recently changed ownership and now they sadly don’t have live music anymore! A very sad loss for the community of Ashland. Everytime we have come to Ashland, we have wanted to go to Omars. It’s the oldest drinking establishment in Oregon. The neon sign outside is gorgeous and echoes the cool neon signs of the past. Omars is at once a steak house w red Naugahyde booths, a sleazy bar w slot machines and a burger joint. We wanted to eat at the steakhouse so we sat there in a nice booth. The steak house menu was very expensive except for some of the appetizers but the portions were humongous. The Bowl of their famous chowder is only $ 4.50. The crispy zucchini was easily the best I have ever eaten w a light crispy coating and ranch dressing. They also offer a three cheese Mac n cheese with bread crumbs topping. Under ten dollars and well worth it. Try the endless salad. It is served family style in a deep bowl with croutons, cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans and olives. The salad dressing is an interesting blend of blue cheese and vinaigrette. Omars features daily specials and an early bird dinner w much lower prices. The specials tonight were oysters on the half shell and corn chowder for starters and baked steelhead fish, NY steak, halibut were just a few. The entrees can be very expensive but they have a bar menu that is as tasty as it is affordable so get that if you’re on a budget. I think $ 47 is too much for a lobster tail and I also thought $ 38 was a bit much for a strip steak. I ended up getting a house special called«toad in a hole» for $ 16.75. It’s like shepherds pie with a fat juicy burger served atop a baked potato w gravy and veggies. They were a bit stingy w the gravy but the burger was wonderful and cooked just as I asked. My friend had the calamari piccata — one of the cheaper offerings at $ 17.00. The calamari was amazing. Juicy, soft and succulent w a light lemon caper sauce and whipped mash potatoes. The calamari was the softest I have ever had and the breading on it was spectacular. Our drummer ordered a cheeseburger and it was just a boring burger w no frills. They really should think about using the burger that came on the«toad in the hole.» If the regular burger were fatter and juicier, I would have given it a much better review. This burger was like the one you can get at any fast food restaurant. Don’t forget to ask for the bread. They have wonderful dark brown bread served warm, with real butter. Very good and would have been much better had they given it to us at the start of the meal! Also our waiter was very young and very green. He kept forgetting everything and I never even got the Mac and cheese I ordered! All told, Omars is a real institution and is worth your time even if you only have a short visit to Ashland.

We celebrated Omar’s 69th birthday today by enjoying their fabulous meatloaf for the vintage price of $ 1.69. They do it every year, and we wouldn’t miss it!

So this place is weird… At first glance it looks a little rundown and a bit of a dive… Its somewhat tacky as it has an identity problem… Its a combination of restaurant, sports bar and down and dirty lounge… You come in for dinner and the wait staff are still covering the big TV’s with semi-formal table cloths as to hide the afternoon shenanigans that take place before dinner… But as you sit there for dinner you notice the old school steakhouse charm that still resides once you get past all the other goofy stuff they push when not serving dinner… But dinner itself… Awesome! I had the chipotle and cranberry glazed chicken with crispy fingerling potatoes and some sort of brazed greens… It was good on every level! I was also very impressed with our butternut squash ravioli appetizer that was served with a nutty brown butter and balsamic drizzle… The salad was served to us in a do-it-yourself fashion which I thought was cool because it was up to us how much and what we wanted on our salads… My girl ordered the ‘special’ Tuscan fish stew which was similar to a cioppino(she said it was better than the Wharf’s version of cioppino, which really says a lot because she is such a big fan of the Wharf and their cioppino) but was a bit more loaded with seafood and had a little more pizzazz to it… The pricing was well worth the big flavors and good size portioned meals! We will definitely be going back to Omar’s! ***Eat Local***

For some seven decades, Omar’s has been successful in Ashland by attracting customers with fine food. It has kept up with the times, featuring fresh foods with a minimum of additives. I had the Tuesday special Alaskan halibut with parmesan-bread crumb coating. It came with vegetables, mostly over-cooked squash, and garlic mashed potatoes. There was a choice of soup, salad or neither, for $ 2 less. The fish was well cooked and tasty. The servers were fairly efficient and friendly. I ordered the senior portion while a friend ordered the regular size. I didn’t see much different in portion size but my wife thought one filet was thinner and thinks our portions were switched by the person bringing out the food, who was not the person taking the orders.

Great service! Super friendly and had the unpretentious vibe that makes a local spot special! You can tell that the team is seasoned and cares about customer satisfaction.

I heard a lot of good things about this place so we decided to try it out for ourselves. You can tell how it was from the stars given maybe I expected more than My fiancée because she liked her steak, me on the other hand not so much I ordered the Australian lobster and upgraded my steak to a filet 63 dollars for a rubbery bland lobster and a very undercooked steak. Now I know most like rare to medium rare but i like mine well. Instantly I seen liquid coming from the steak and ask for it to be cooked a bit more the look I got when I asked will forever be etched into my brain like i was an idiot for not liking undercooked meats. The calamari tempura was excellent along with the bread and salad the house made dressing was out of this world. All in all I felt it wasn’t worth the 130 dollars we spent that nite. After tip and drinks

Don’t know how I feel about this place. Okay food but very over priced for the quality and portions in my opinion. Not a bad place to grab a drink though. Other than that though I probably wouldn’t go again.
