Went there yesterday with my wife and cousin. Saw the review on Phantom Gourmet so we decided to try it. Pretty busy even at 4PM, bar seats were just about full as the NCAA basketball playoffs were on. We sat at a raised booth which was a little too narrow for two average sized adults. Waitress came over and right away we could tell she would be friendly and helpful. She seemed to be proud of where she was working. I ordered the BBQ meatloff, my wife and cousin ordered burgers and we all had a side of onion rings based on the Phantom Gourmet review. The food came within a reasonable time and everything was cooked as asked. We were all pleased as everything was tasty with more than decent sized portions. Place started getting really busy around 5PM, between the bar, the basketball games and KENO the noise level was a little distracting but hey it is what to be expected I guess. Waitress was really great and left her good tip as she more than deserved it. Will definitely go back maybe a little earlier especially on a Friday.

Nice atmosphere but the food just isn’t there. Ice tried to give it a few chances. Today I took out of town guests and was embarrassed. Won’t go back even just for a drink.

I’ll say the food is pretty good and I’ve been a regular… my more recent trip will likely be my LAST. Serious decline in customer service. No matter how good the food is, it’s not worth being ignored at the bar. I attempted to flag the bartender down for well over 20mins on a less than average busy night. Two younger women sat down next to me and were served immediately. Two older women sat across the bar and were served immediately. I literally left the bar, went to the front service station to place an order. Being the only black customer in the restaurant, I’d like to believe it wasn’t a racial issue but from where I was sitting, I was the only customer being ignored. Ashland Alehouse has officially disappointed me.

Recently experienced a less than average visit to Ashland Ale House. Although normally have had experiences above average with their great selection of IPA beers and a decent menu, server was very disinterested in us as guests and food was just fair. My daughter got the Ale House Burger, which was either undercooked or food went bad; she ended up getting sick that night from it. Again, have had good experiences in the past, but rating on this visit did not meet the grade. Hopefully, it was a one time event.

Pretty good spot for some beers. The place was much more crowded than I expected. Got a chicken parm calzone which was really good. Definitely a decent spot if you are ever in Ashland.

Every burger I eat here is delicious. Every time. And unlike many pubs, they know how to grill medium rare and the fries are also evidently cooked to order. This is an A+ place to get some all American food.

Great place. We’ve sat at the bar for date nights, and have sat in booths with 2 kids. Everytime we go, it has been great. Service is good, food is good. Can’t go wrong with the Ale House! Can be busy on weekend nights, but that’s a sign of a good restaurant ! If you haven’t been, check it out!

So my husband and I went in for some burgers and beers. The service was pretty good, we sat at the bar and they were attentive and the food cam out quick. The beer selection is great, however the food is sub par at best. It’s clear the burgers are frozen with little to no flavor. When I can make a better burger at home, you better believe I will NOT be back here for food!!!’

Terrible service, was with a few friends for a drink: Took forever to get a waitress, and nobody paid attention to us after our first order(which took forever). I was kicked out after having three drinks(and no drinks prior to arriving) with no explanation. The environment was terrible, the live music was terrible. Somebody put this bar out of its misery. New name?: TRASHland FAILhouse

Our local go to place! I love the fish tacos(get a side of chipotle sauce). The salad croutons are to die for. They can easily cater to larger groups which is a huge bonus!

I worked at this location(which is a great one) when it was a 99, between 2002 – 2004. It was a fun time. I was living in H-Town and getting my grades up at Mass Bay.(Sorry to digress but I wanted to throw that in) I can’t think of a bad thing about Ashland Ale House. Large portions of very good, quality food, great beer selection, awesome décor, old photos/posters, and I enjoy the spacious lay-out. Every time I go in, even if it a Tuesday at 8pm, place is packed. This is a gem!

Definitely our new favorite family-friendly restaurant in the area! Awesomely decorated, very homey. Server super friendly!!! Nice selection of beers for the adults. Huge menu with way too many tempting choices! The calamari was excellent, the chili also. The ale house burger disappeared without even a crumb left. The gorgonzola steak tips with grilled onions and mushrooms were outstanding. Will certainly be back. Often!!!

Food is good, staff is nice, beer selection is better than most. The only thing I could do with out are the people who I run into at the bar. On all 3 visits the conversations around me were all about who got arrested, knocked up, or OD last weekend.

The food is pub/comfort food and prepared well. Our server was a trainee, but was friendly and helpful. The beer selection is very good, which is fun. We went on a weekday so there was not live entertainment — which was fine. I loved the Spencer Trappist Ale.

This location is a go to spot for amazing food, great service and fair prices. It is unique in two distinct features, first the food comes out at an amazing pace. Secondly, the band on friday and saturday nights will set a pace to make you finish that food. Their staff is courteous, well meaning and attentive. Their bands on the weekend nights are clearly failures from the Berkely School of Music. I highly recommend the reuben and Eric the bartender will take care of you. Booths and tables are spacious as should be the billett for next weeks entertainment.

Pleasantly surprised. A nice selection of beers and a standard bar menu with well done food. I got the steak tips and they were perfectly medium rare — not over-seasoned. My wife got fish and chips with fresh fish and a nice light batter. We ordered the boneless buffalo wings and they were really good.(I prefer bone-in, but my wife doesn’t like the reminder that it was once a living thing.) The fries were good, but the waitress was a little slow. It was overall a good experience. I will likely go back.

3.287 Stars AAH is located in a medium size strip mall of route 126 not that far from Framingham. The bar is impressive in size and it’s centrally located. The booths are big, ample and cozy. The taps are numerous and they give the nod to Massachusetts breweries but the selection includes some choice craft beers from CA and other regions. There is huge chalk board and a printed list but you may want to have a backup, they move product here. I’ve only had beer here but they do seasonal cocktails. I’ve tried the burgers(3⁄5) and the meatloaf(4⁄5). They have a standard menu but they add items to the food menu with the seasons. Even when it’s busy the food pops up in a timely fashion. * parking, lot. * the bar is huge and I’ve been left hanging a few times when no tender was visible. * plenty of TVs they have«the game» on. * Fri & Sat live music. * Gordon Ramsay might say they have too many items on the food menu…

Went last Saturday for my first time(everyone else in our group had been there before). It’s loud but the booths are comfortable and I liked the atmosphere. For entrees, my wife had the Daisy Mae chicken(southern fried chicken), friends had the prime rib and turkey tips, while I had the Pistol Pete burger. The burger was excellent — perfectly cooked and came with tons of onion strings — I loved it. The chicken and turkey tips were great too. Only issue was the prime rib, which was overly fatty. My friend told the waitress, who was very understanding. The manager came over and chatted — offering to get him something else. He asked for a pizza to go, since the rest of us were half done. When the waitress brought the bill — they took off the Prime Rib and the pizza without asking. Really appreciated how they handled it. Needless to say, we gave the waitress a nice tip — for being so attentive and for handling the situation well. A band stated up around 8:30 or 9:00. Glad we weren’t sitting close as it was pretty loud, but they were decent. Overall, we really liked the Ashland Ale House — it could become a real go-to place for us. We’ll be back soon.
