I am really really really upset with Quality Air in Asheville today. Our propane furnace stopped working a couple of weeks ago, strangely it would not start back up after we had the propane refilled. Called Quality Air, had them come out and give it a look. Their guy said that the motor was completely locked up and had to be replaced. The part would be like $ 400 plus labor and would have to be ordered but since the system is older he would like to send someone out with a replacement estimate, their guy came out a few days later LMAO $ 10,000 estimate. Thank God for my wonderful brother in law Bobby, who suggested the fan was stuck and needed cleaned. We did and the motor started working fine, so $ 12 for canned air and 3-in-1 Canned Oil it’s running great !!! Called Quality Air this morning to tell them about my furnace not being broken and not needing to be replaced like they said and the manager Mike was flippant, said flatly sorry, not with sincerity or embarrassment but in that oh well get over it kind of tone. They could have cared less. I deserved a refund of my service call and a sincere apology but I can tell you that will never happen with this company. I would suggest to anyone out there not to use them, they do not care about their customers, they are crooks. I was lied too in an attempt to sell me a new system at the costs of $ 10,000, just sickened today. It was fixed with $ 12 worth of canned air and 3-in-1 oil, the fan and shaft needed cleaned, it was stuck.

Called today to get a service call on my wife’s uncles’ house. He is in a Hospice terminally ill and we are trying to manage his affairs from a distance. A neighbor who was watching the house for us called us and advised that the furnace had quit and the house was cold. The weather is cold and we needed a prompt service call to fix the problem. Was advised by the person at Quality Air they could not help us as their policy was to deal only with the home owner. I explained the situation. The person I was speaking with was sympathetic but would not help us due to their«policy.» Hard to believe. Fortunately, we found another contractor who responded promptly, fixed the problem in minutes, and advised there was no charge.

I purchased & had my furnace installed by these guys 7 years ago in Asheville. I now rent the house to my sister. I live in Colorado. When she called to schedule the appointment for the broken furnace she informed them of this. We waited for the appointment for 3 days. Twenty minutes after they were supposed to be there, they called to confirm the appointment with me & I said yes, my sister is waiting. I was then informed it was their policy that I had to be there too. They told me they couldn’t fix the furnace I bought from them because I had to be present. The manager I spoke with was very rude to me & to my sister who called them as well. Bad customer service and bad representation as they could have told her of this policy when she called to schedule with them three days ago. The house still has no heat and we’re back to square one.

I was looking to replace an over 20 year old heat pump system in a house I rent in Asheville. My tenant contacted Quality Air for an estimate. After canceling one time they came to the house and said they couldn’t look at what we needed because the «decision makers» weren’t present. I live in California. I have a property manager locally who can make decisions on our behalf. We got estimates from other contractors without any problems…

Bar none! This is by far the best company I’ve worked with since moving to Asheville 1−½ years ago. The receptionist, Becca, went above and beyond and was extremely personable! They had someone out within hours because our AC wasn’t working. They wore booties on their shoes so as not to drag dirt into the house. Ben and Aaron were wonderful as they checked everything in the AC/heatpump and gas heating units and explained everything to us. They were definitely reasonable and they sold us on their club plan so that we have our unit serviced twice per year with a discount on parts. Great experience all around and we highly recommend them. I promise you won’t regret hiring them.
