Pomodoros led the pack for us on the eastside. But it can have consistency problems. Also, while good it isn’t up to Asheville standards. For equivalent price point there are much better options.

Had dinner at the Tunnel road location and it was wonderful. I had the spanikopita and mussels. These were supposed to be appetizers but the portions were so large I took the mussels home. My husband had the mushroom ravioli. All of the dishes were delicious. The interior of the restaurant was lovely and our waiter took obvious pride in working there and serving his customers. Wether you like Mediterranean or Italian you won’t be disappointed. Truly an excellent dining experience

If you are going to spend this kind of money for mediocre food, then go downtown. You can spend less for more satisfaction. Not worth it. I’m really not getting the whole Italian/Greek restaurant thing. Choose one or the other and do it well. Not only was the food disappointing, but the atmosphere is just slightly nicer than a Denny’s, and the servers seem completely unhappy and incompetent. I saw food being served, while servers were holding cleaning supplies, and then one of the servers came out with a bandaged hand that had no business serving our food. Why not have someone else serve the food if you are injured. I immediately lost my appetite. The bread even tastes store bought, they are cheap with the olive oil… why not let us keep a bottle at our table for the prices we are paying? I’m not getting how this place has survived this long.

new owner/management is a problem. the water they served was foul tasting, when i mentioned it, the manager said they«have the best water filters»(inference being that it was my taste that was ar fault). used to be a favorite restaurant — can’t recommend it any more. sad.

Chose to go here after seeing the reviews on Unilocal.I asked if I could have rigatoni instead of spaghetti, and they said that would be fine, but they gave me the meat sauce on top, which was not what I asked for. I only wanted the marinara sauce. The waitress took care of it, and the manager brought it to my table. I always appreciate quality service since it is hard to find anymore. My mom had spaghetti and said it was delicious. My rigatoni was also very good. If I’m ever back in Asheville, I will definitely eat here again.

Just got in to town and wanted a good meal close to our hotel. Started out great, as our server(Hannah) made wonderful suggestions, and was very helpful with special dietary needs. Now the food. Bread is crusty and tasty. Side salad is large and loaded with feta and yummy. My chicken and hubby’s eggplant were outstanding. Wish we lived closer, we would be regulars.

Server was«so-so.» He must have been having a bad day. Acted as if I was keeping him awake. Zero energy! The food was good, really the price was high for the quality of the food & service. Had a Greek salad which was good; dressing was very good, but the«side» salad did not come with the meal, and was a $ 3 up charge. It should have been with the meal. I had a tomato base pasta with shrimp/scallops which was good(tasty). $ 2.50 for glass of tea(lots of profit in that!). The total bill was $ 28.36 for one person. A little hefty for an average style restaurant.

Good balance of Greek and Italian food. The lamb chops are excellent as is the salmon. The Greek salad is acceptable. Seems like they’re playing with the menu trying to find things they can do consistent well. The scallops and pasta are also good. Good value and service.

We came in tired and hungry and left full and happy! Very good service. We shared a side caesar salad – plenty for two. I had the lemon salmon with risotto(it comes with spinach) and it could not have been better. The salmon was just right: rare, but not underdone, and the spinach and risotto balanced it perfectly. My husband ordered the veal parmigiana, which he loved. They had a nice wine list with plenty of choices by the glass. Highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I went to Pomodoros on recommendation of my sister-in-law. She certainly hit the nail on the head with her praises of this place. We were at the restaurant on a Wednesday evening and were delighted to find that it was wine lovers Wednesday and all their bottles of wine were half price. We both had spaghetti with bolonese and house garden salads. The spaghetti was well prepared, tasty, and of more than adequate serving size. We could have split an order and come away sated. The salad was freshly prepared and crisp. I’m not convinced the bread was made in house as it was two nice sized rolls that had been slit, buttered with a garlic butter and oven toasted. It, like other items we are was very good. All in all, the food more than met my expectations. The staff was friendly and oersonable with great senses of humor. We were seated quickly and our food was served in short order. The staff was retentive but not overbearing. We will definitely return on our next trio to Asheville.

Stopped in for a late night dinner after spending the day exploring Ashville. We sat at the bar and ordered a beer and dinner. Since it was close to 9pm when we arrived, my husband and I split an appetizer and main dish. We ordered the bruschetta appetizers, which had unique flavor with the roasted red pepper pesto. As a main dish we ordered gnocchi with a basil pesto cream sauce. I wasn’t in love with it but it was pretty good. I’d recommend for a quick dinner with above average Italian/Mediterranean food but not a new favorite.

Takeout of Gluten Free pizza and Stromboli. Very good stuff. Friendly service. Priced for a nice evening out, 15 – 20 entrees with a good atmosphere.

Grabbed some take out after spending 4 hours at the emergency vet with my dog on vacation. I was starving and ready to eat. Not feeling picky. Bland. Got the chicken Marsala and it had no flavor and was a big disappointment. No real sauce and limited on the mushrooms. The asparagus was overlooked. The pasta was bland as well. If you aren’t in a pinch for time and location and in asheville then go somewhere else.

Enjoyed a late lunch! My dining companion was GF and the waiter was very accommodating, suggesting substitutions so that we could share most of the food. We started with the appetizer featuring hummus, spanakopita, and a goat cheese crostini. I will tell you this: I love spanakopita and it is a wonderful thing to be served one that is baked crisp rather than microwaved. So good! Hummus was also made in house and was excellent as well. The waiter suggested a GF substitute for the crostini and we both were able to share in the deliciousness. For entrees, the gyros is the best ever and my companion really enjoyed her GF pasta. As far as the service went, A for the day. Accommodating, suggested great choices, attentive. A great meal at a great place. Definitely will return.

New owner, disappointing experience. The spaghetti and meatballs used to be out of this world — sadly not any more. In my opinion it is a nice neighborhood restaurant but the owner must think charging big city restaurant prices is acceptable. It especially hit me when returning from a trip to Aspen, a town filled with fancy restaurants and creative chefs. Pomodores charges more for less(quality of food and portion size). Fortunately, there are plenty excellent restaurants in Asheville.

Sorry to say that my experience was not equal to others on this page as the 20% coupon for my next visit was proof. Service was wonderful and my wife’s dish of chicken piccata was good. Here comes the«but!» My dish of «pomodoro something or other» should never have left the kitchen. The pasta was cooked perfectly but whatever smothered it including overdone burned meatballs and crispy sausage was an embarrassment to serve. The overdone, dry meatballs and sausage had been cooked on a grill or in the oven, thrown on top of the pasta and then smothered in a red sauce. I’m hoping that this was an exception or a mistake and that no one else will be subjected to THAT dish.

The service was incredible! We came in with a party of 20 hungry soccer players pretty close to closing time. We were seated and had two servers for our table– which was a brilliant move on their part. Water arrived quickly as well as bread and dipping oil. Both servers worked together so well and managed our motley crew with ease. The food came out fairly quickly considering how large our group was. Most of the comments were very positive. I can speak personally to the Greek Salad(amazing dressing) and the Mamma Mia pizza– sure to please both veggie and meat lovers. Again– mad dap to the waitstaff and hostess who was so gracious in accepting our late reservation and let us linger even after close. It was a very enjoyable experience!

Nice spot we found with the help of Unilocal and a Groupon Certificate. The restaurant is cozy — we were fortunate enough to snag one of the round booths — seemed like we were in our own place. Table service was prompt — but a little tired — I guess the Bele Chere crowd had just worn her out. Excellent food for sure — I had the lamb Chops, she had the Scallop pasta dish — both were prepared nicely — good portions. Wine list was OK — very affordable selections. We will give it another try on a «quiet» weekend!

Very relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely visit again. We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was yummy. Tasted very unique with sautéed, candied lemon throughout. We both had Cesar salads with our meals. I ordered the Pasta Athena and it was amazing! The linguine was cooked perfectly al dente and the scallops, shrimp and mussels were succulent and sweet. I was amazed at the freshness being so far from a coast. My husband had the Porca de Prima and was amazed! It was one of the specials of the evenings and he would eat it 3 times a week. The zucchini was grilled to perfection and perfectly seasoned. The roasted potatoes were very flavorful. And the pork left him wanting more… He was very disappointed when he realized he had eaten it all and could only go home with a memory until the next time we return! Our compliments to the chef and our waitress Hannah! We will definitely be back!
